  • Agreed! The extra chemicals in Diet Sodas put an immense strain on your liver. Also, keeping SUPER hydrated with WATER will give you an extra energy boost. Aim to be peeing every 1-2 hours. Water also will flush out your system and make you feel awesome to pass the bar!!! WTG!!!
  • A couple old wives' remedies for water retention: -dramatically cut salt intake -put my feet up during the day if possible, but definitely while at home. -eat fresh Pineapple, Spinach, Asparagus. (I believe these help flush my system, i.e. make one go to the bathroom.) -drink water with lemon -drink water with mint leaves…
  • You look like the image of "FAB-U-LOSS-CITY"!!!! Awesome! Way to go! You are such a great inspiration for us all.
  • Every person has basic rights and responsibilities. You have a basic right to pursuit a healthy lifestyle. My older husband has expressed similar feelings, and exhibited similar behavior. As a child of the 90's, I have finally stood up for myself with my mantra: "Just Say No." But... Because I love him, I pair my new "Just…
  • Hi! I just started P90X and I love it! I read the part of the books that said "Embrace the Struggle" and boy oh boy...did I struggle, but I did it. I was trying to drum up some support from family/friend, but to no avail. So, here I am, hoping to find others on MFP who are active with P90X. Also, through the Beachbody…
  • I think so too. I'm married, and we go back and forth about "sexiness"...Yeah...we judge ;-) But we enjoy each other. I know my husband wants a 'hot' wife, just like I want a 'hot' husband. So while we're improving together, its a total turn-on. Its just part of life. Reference: National Geographic's: The Nature Channel
  • Yes, You're right. Its much more advantageous to focus on your own actions, and increasing your self-esteem. Losing weight, toning-up, becoming healthier is all about increasing your self esteem! When working out, its not simply the burn that feels good- its the rush of improvement- Ever Upward!
  • Don't worry- Be happy. :-)
  • Hi Chloe, I was curious, why to avoid the Whey protons? Thanks, Meg
  • Hi! Have you found any good sources of info for "abandoning the victim mentality"? Thanks, Megan
  • Awesome list!!!! Have you seen the website for "Eat This, Not That"? They suggest many alternatives for items on your list. Such as baking julianned potatoes, and adding seasoning, like chili powder or cumin. Hope this helps, Megan
  • 1. Any salad dressing which is not homemade, including mayo/cheese (I use lemon juice, or balsamic vinagrette, or lime juice, or red wine vinegar) 2. Processed chips, candies, packaged noodles/rice/potatoes (basically if it comes in plastic, I try to avoid it like the plague) 3. Cheese 4. Sugar: desserts, JUICE/SODA, candy…
  • I think we have similar ideologies. I try to include a large volume of fruits and veggies, and then add-in convenience foods, in small portions. Gradually overtime, I notice that recording my calories motivates me to avoid the Chocolate cupcakes and super high fat ice cream. Good comment!
  • Hi Laney: My husband and best friend, in his 40s diagnosed with a heart condition (improving) and extreme gout (debilitating pain), WAS a very active guy. He still has the calf muscles to prove it. :-) I believe if he abandons junk-food, he can decrease his illness. In his early 20's he focused intensely on his diet. He…
