  • Can I join the fun here? Just joined MFP back and in need of motivation. I am a 40 ex-runner trying to get back into races after a couple years hiatus. Need to loose about 10 pounds to get faster when running. I am also starting lifting weights since I enjoy it. Love to read about your workouts, makes me want to go get my…

  • congratulations! what kind of exercises did you do?
  • I've been doing CrossFit for 2 years with a balanced diet. Earlier this year I changed my diet to Paleo with VERY low carbs intake, the results were decreased performance doing the WODs So from my personal experience the cons would be reduced or impared performance but among the pros of starting CrossFit right now would be…
  • If these are your co-workers I would just say "no, thanks" or "I'm going to pass this time as I am still full from lunch", you don't need to explain more (especially if you already had a bad experience with them and you KNOW they are not going to be supportive). They are probably trying to sabotage you... I think people…
  • I am mom to a todler and after my delivery I was worried I was not going to loose the baby weight, but I did! I was eating healthy and counting calories (I used MFP) also I joined a boot camp class (similar to Insanity) which I attended 6 days a week religiously... I lost all the baby weight plus 12 pounds in 5 months, I…
  • I agree with the posts above, take a test drive before commiting to a contract. I did crossfit for a year and love it!, unfortunately It is not in my budget currently but I think it is worth every single penny. I am a runner as well and I think it is a great complementary workout for runners. My race times actually…
  • I agree with the above post. Introduce to your trainning one long run (easy pace) once a week. Start your first long run by adding no more than 2 miles to your longer distance ran in the past three weeks, and each week try and increase a little bit more. Good luck!
  • According to my hubby I eat a lot of weird combination foods. For me it is just normal food as I grew up eating these.... 1.- Sadwich of fat free refried beans and tuna fish on toasted wheat bread 2.- Raw apples with hot sauce, or watermelon chunks with lemon, salt and hot sauce 3.- Hard boiled eggs with Cholula sauce (hot…
  • YAY for Crossfit, I joined a crossfit gym about 4 months ago, after having my baby and currently have lost all the baby weight I gained plus 7 extra pounds and feeling stronger and fitter than ever before.... Crossfit it is one of the most effcient workouts I've tried. It is pricey but at least at my gym I get a discount…
  • I'm not a doctor and don't have an answer for you, the onl thing I can tell you is that I was on fertility drugs for months and I gained a little bit of weight. In my case I did not care because my #1 goal was to get pregnant and have a little angel....and I did!!!! After the delivery i lost all the baby weight and more!!!…
  • I think you need to add lean protein to your after run meal (no more than 30 minutes later). Try it for a couple of days and see how you feel. I am a runner and try to have a meal no more than 30 minutes after my run that includes lean protein and complex carbs. Also, I could do coffee and banana 1.5 hrs. before my run. I…
  • I did the Warrior Dash two weeks ago, so much fun!! I agree with previous comments, you should do it for fun and not for time. Believe me, there are part of the course that are so muddy you can not even walk without loosing your balance, plus you are running with soaking wet tennis shoes pretty much from the begining (had…
  • Count me in for the 30 day shred challenge..
  • How did you do it? I had a baby boy 7 weeks ago and I am just now getting back to excersicing and dieting.... I appreciatte any tips you have for a first time mom.
  • Breakfast: Light whole grain English muffin (100 cal.) with scramble Egg beaters and 1 slice of Kraff 2% sharp cheddar and a cup of black coffee. The whole thing is about 200 calories and very fulfilling and yummy. Also good for breakfast, Quaker instant oatmeal, low sugar, only little bit over 100 calories and it's very…

  • yoplait light yogurt, 100 calories and 5grs protein, Nabisco Chips Ahoy 100 calorie-packets (they're very yummy), a raw apple, Jello sugar free gelatins (only 10 calories and very yummy).
  • Hi! 6 lbs lost. Thanks!
  • Are you keeping a food diary? look at how many calories you consume versus how many you are burning. When you have a deficit of 3,500 you loose 1 pound. I am sticking to the match and I am seeing results. Also, I am trying to stay away from weights for now, instead I do cardio and drills. I use the stairs (instead of…
  • Sorry, what is P90X ??
  • Congratulations! great accomplishment... hope your new and cute capris keep you motivated to continue your journey.... :-)
  • I think there are going to be days when you are under your target and others when you are going to be over. I think the important thing is to keep exercising and don't go over the 1500. I have exaclty the same amount of daily calories than you and I used them to give me a better idea of portions. I am so glad to say that…
