  • Already threw it away...and it wasn't even mine to begin with. I had to replace it for my roommate. That's when I know it's bad...
  • About 2000. I'm 6' 168 lbs
  • I don't think I NEED to lose weight, but I'd like to get by BF down to help my game and my confidence. Appreciate that! Yes I've been logging for the past week, and I'm finding it much easier to go below my calorie goal. I've decided that if I do go below 2000, I better not have done a tough workout that day. Yesterday I…
  • I eat pretty much the same thing every day - mostly to save money since I eat pretty much everything i buy on a daily basis.
  • Haha thank you, trust me it is GONE. I was getting so ridiculous with it, but I would crave it so bad that I felt like I should listen to my body. Guess that's just another excuse.. I now use PB2. I love the stuff. Wish it wasn't so pricey.
  • Yeah I'm going to get better about it. I use to do it religiously. What do you think of the foods I fill my pantry with? ^^^ I think the binging came from a few weeks before bc I was averaging 1700 cals a day. I guess my body is too smart to let me eat that little and not come back with avengeance. I'm really bad with the…
  • Yeah I've been slacking on MFP, but I do calculate my calories every day. I just didn't log them on MFP. I wish I would have to make this more useful.. My avg last week was prob around 2400 :/ My primary sources of calories are: egg whites eggs PB, almond butter, pb2 now 40 cal toast asian medley veg brown rice multigrain…
  • Yes it is sports specific. Dead lift, squats, single arm dumbell press, farmer's walk, pull ups, glute ham raise, step ups, pallof press, push ups, box jumps, hang cleans, etc.
  • I wouldn't either....well I had a habit of eating all my calories at one time - after weights. Last week i was eating around 2200 in one sitting and then I would eat veggies and/or something light the rest of the day. So I think I was still under maintenance but barely. I've now started preplanning my meals so that I don't…
  • You hit the nail on the head with me liking how I look with just cardio, but I don't really have a choice. I'm just trying to distinguish between toughening up and upping my calories because I need to. I can only be tough so many times before giving in if it's something my body needs. I haven't gotten BF checked very…
  • I'll look up more about this, but in your experience, does this happen every time you lift a heavier amount of weight? I'm on a structured training plan since we have a strength coach in the vball dept. Therefore, I'm lifting more and more every workout, which I assume tears the muscles each time? Or is initial swelling…
  • This is what I'm curious about - what is this 'initial swelling' you speak of?
  • I totally get that. Maybe I've worded it in the wrong way. My point is that lifting makes me insatiably hungry, whereas cardio such as spinning, running, etc. seems to suppress my appetite more. Thus, in an indirect way - for me at least - running makes me skinny and lifting makes me bulky/fat. Well to be fair to myself, I…
  • Haha I'm not...I'm 6' tall and weigh about 170 and am a DI athlete. I had eaten around 1700 the two days before, so I think my body was compensating. It gets really bad let me tell you. I do feel quite ill when it happens though. Usually very tired and bloated. I've probably eaten 8000 calories in a day due to too severe…
  • Finally! Yes that is exactly how I feel...I think it may have to do with body type - my trainers have told me I put on muscle easily (which probably means fat too...) and so I look much bulkier when lifting heavy.
  • I have a strength coach who puts the workouts together. I guess I am making excuses...it's just frustrating to see so much difference when I'm doing cardio versus weight training and I really have no choice on which exercise I perform.
  • Is there anyone else who has issues with maintaining a caloric deficit while weight training?
  • I hate to be a negative nelly, but if you gained back almost 20lbs, odds are very little of it was actual muscle mass gain. It's hard to say with a good time frame here, but gaining muscle is extremely hard, takes an on point diet, hours of overload training, and genes.....for guys. It's exponentially harder for women. A…
  • Um...no. You literally just told a female with less than 20lbs to lose that she's burning fat and building muscle........at a rate that is keeping her the same size. That is virtually impossible. Cardio isn't the way to "shred fat". Diet with a regimen of some cardio and weight training is how you shred fat. To "shred fat"…
  • I'm afraid of going too low on calories since I end up binging...I've eating half a jar of peanut butter in one day. A jar of almond butter in 2 days multiple times.
  • Thanks. Yeah I don't know why I was craving toast, but I get the 40 calorie per piece toast, so I can eat a lot of it with fewer calories. I'm all about the volume :) Another interesting note is that I'm always fatigued. I've been sleeping more than usual, yet have also been more tired than usual. Anyone know what this…
  • I have trouble staying below like 2800 on training days. What concerns me is that about 70% of that is eaten in around a 30 minute period. I think my TDEE is around 2400-2500? I'm 6' tall, about 170 and probably around 22-23% BF I'm a 21 year old girl
  • I'm always trying to cut to be honest..but I'm just finding it really hard to hit 2000 when I'm training this hard. We lift very heavy, and I think my body's too smart to keep me from wanting to eat. I crave peanut butter and almond butter, and I can eat it huge quantities. I never would crave these when I wasn't lifting…
  • I started trying to stop logging because I wanted to try listening to my body...not seeming to work though..

  • See, but when I don't eat the unhealthy stuff, it's actually because I don't want it...But then when I do want it, I go CRAZY. It's honestly so irritating; I wish I could just eat normally...

  • Yeah I guess, but why do I binge...could it be the stevia?
in Stevia? Comment by lb628 June 2013
  • Because I've been at a calorie deficit for a while, and I can't figure out what keeps making me binge and gain. I have close to 15 packets a day of stevia and I also have splenda sometimes. I know I need to cut something, but don't know what

  • Sugar Free Jello, Fat free greek yogurt with dole sugar free peaches, almond milk, cinnamon and stevia, fat free hot chocolate with stevia, sugar free chocolate pudding, arctic zero ice cream, 'chocolite' candy
  • But if emotion was taken out of eating, I feel like eating wouldn't be near as enjoyable. Food is one of our few joys in life! However, I know it has its downsides too (trust me, i know!)... Seems like more of a philosophical question.
