I'm too heavy to do it, but doing it anyway. I weighed 200 lbs when I started and I weigh 195 now (week 6). I'm still too heavy and worried I'm being way too hard on my knees, but I want to be a runner, so I'm going after it anyway. It will help to take the rest of the weight off and contribute to my overall health and…

Well done!

Week 6, day 1. done. Brrrr, it was chilly outside today and I'm pretty sure I didn't dress properly. I'll have to get that sorted out.

This, exactly, for me too. I loved the books and was so worried that I'd be disappointed. I thought the adaptation was excellent and that the details they changed were minor. Loved Woody Harrelson as Haymitch, but agree that he was a little too nice to Katniss. The movie was only half over when I told my husband I wanted…

Oooo, cool kicks Andy! I like 'em bright!

bumpity bump. Sounds deeeelicious! Will definitely give it a try.

Week 5, day 3. Done! Yay me! Feeling super proud of myself for having accomplished this first step. The middle of the run was the toughest part, but once I got past the hump I was able to finish it out. Week 6 here I come!

Congratulations! That is fantastic!

great thread. bumping.

I've now done two days outside and the rest on the treadmill. I just finished week 5, day 2 and did it outside. I also ran week 4, day 3 outside. My thoughts are this..... its definitely different than the treadmill, though I don't think its necessarily harder. Things that are better outside: changing scenery;…

bumping. Thank you!

I started March 2. Today I completed Week 5, day 2. I'm wearing a HRM for the last week and typically burning around 200 calories per session. I haven't lost weight, in fact, I gained a little this week. But! I can see muscles in my legs that I couldn't see before. And I've lost 2 inches off of my natural waist, an inch…

Just finished day 2 love (I think you are running it today...?) and I thought it was easier than day 1. I hope that it is for you as well!

Week 5, Day 2. Done! It was much easier for me than day 1, my food choices have been better the last few days and I'm sure that's a huge part of it. I did today's "run" outside. I use the term loosely since its really a slow jog rather than a run and I know that after I make it through next week I'll start working on…

That is sooooo fantastic! Well done! I'm giggling at the mental image you painted of running in circles in the dark so as to avoid being run over. :) Made me smile. And if you did this today, its all easy from here, right?
-
I'm glad things are going easier for you. I too was going to suggest that you slow down. When I was starting the C25K I read that if you can possibly run any slower, you are going too fast. The point is to just be able to do it now and that the speed will come later. Good luck!
-
Bwah ha ha ha ha!!!! OP, I agree with the others that it was intended as a compliment to you and all the hard work you are putting in. I'd certainly take it that way. :) Congratulations!
-
Hi! Welcome to MFP. I'm doing both and I just started week 5 of the C25K. Friend me if you want to. :)
-
Fantastic! Keep up the awesome work!

Week 5 Day 1. complete. It was hard. I think because I've been eating really poorly the last 3 days. For a few minutes after I was done I felt like I wanted to puke. Eeeeeew! So tomorrow is a day off and then I'm considering whether to repeat day 1 or move on to day 2.
-
Glad to hear the second attempt was a success for you! Well done. :)
-
Whew! Just tried my first outside day and it was definitely different than being on the treadmill. I felt a lot slower (though I think my paces were pretty close to what they usually are) and the unevenness of the road takes some getting used to, but I did it. Week 5 here I come!
-
Week 4 Day 2 is in the history books. I had more trouble with my iPod than with the running. I had it set on the shelf of the treadmill and knocked it down 3 times before I smartened up and clipped it to my waistband. I worked hard today and my face was beet red when I was finished, but I managed to complete all the runs…

Patience is hard, isn't it? But that will make the reward so much greater in the end. Way to go on finishing Day 2! Its great that you were able to jump right back in where you left off. Awesome week for you! See you in week 5!
-
Congratulations! I'm not surprised that the weight training is slowing you down a bit right now, but think how much stronger you'll be in the end. See you in week 5.
-
Congratulations mostaverage and ksmorck! Way to stick it out and complete the program. What an accomplishment! Its great to see that you both plan to continue with your running from here, I hope I feel the same when I accomplish that first big milestone (or 3.1 milestone ;)). Well done!

Did you get the same color I did? I didn't even know they come in other colors until I got home. I'd probably have chosen these anyway, but I also love the poison green ones.

This for me, too.

I'm running in these: Brooks Ghost 4 The local running shop put me in several different pairs and of the ones I tried these were by far the most comfortable. I don't like really stiff heels and these are nice and soft. Also they are pretty light. The right one fits better than the left, but my feet are getting used to them…
