I didn’t do anything outside of normal. I do normal Body Building strength training. Some high reps. Some low reps high weight. I do try to do at least one big Strength movement usually at the beginning of any workout. Squats, Deadlifts, stand shoulder press, bench, ect. On the diet piece I just used this app to balance…

Just have to get leaner. I struggle with the very bottom portion of my stomach. It’s just wear the fat likes to store itself. No way to target it, just reduce the body fat percentage.

A buddy and I had to cut weight once for a team cross fit competition where body weight was factored into scoring. The weigh in was the evening before the comp. Four days out we started consuming 2 gallons of water a day for the first two days. Third day was 1.5 gallons and stopped all food and water activity at 5:00pm…

Wanting to lose weight wasn't enough for me. I needed a reason, a goal for why I wanted to lose it. Find a specific reason, not just I want to be healthy, I want to be skinny. Understand the simple concept of burning more calories than you consume and find YOUR way to do it. Try different types of exercising. Maybe you…

My girlfriend also thought it was strong, but she liked it.

I started with p90x. I have the pics somewhere. Lost about 35 lbs. I then moved to Crossfit. Which got me to where I am now in the before and current photo. The p90x videos get boring and annoying. I imagine that's the same with anything you watch for 90 days straight. Ps... P90x definitely put me in better shape, but…

If you are enjoying those type of lifts, then maybe you consider CrossFit.

Getting in shape costs money for sure.

I think the science is pretty simple... Burn more calories than you consume to lose weight. The trick is to find and eating style that fits you to do so and an exercise plan that interests you enough to stick to it. The biggest thing.. Don't lie to yourself about what your eating or how hard your working. If your not…

Fantastic. Keep it up.

I can't knock P90x because it got me started. The concept and exercises are great. It just gets boring after a while.

Haha, well my quiting smoking was a little inconventional. I always hated chewing/dipping, but camel has something called "snus". It a nicotine pouch you put in your mouth that does not make you spit. I traded the cigs for that and gave myself a 3 month timeline to stop the snus. I think it's tough to battle the habit and…

Haha. Well, I think my post was missed a little bit. I originally said burn more calories than you consume. That's the goal. I was giving examples of places where you might be able to help facilitate that policy. If you want to eat a piece of mozzarella cheese, by all means eat it as a snack. I have. But if you order…

If someone is happy with their weight, there is nothing wrong with burgers and fries. If someone's not making any progress, then they may want to change burger and fries to bunless burger and broccoli.

Thanks!

Obviously, you can't avoid carbs. What I meant was carb loaded items such as bread, pastas, and I avoid potatoes for the most part. Carb loaded items usually suck down your available calories too. You could eat more protein like chicken if you have it with a side of broccoli instead of with bread. I'd rather spend my…

I was trying to edit the orginal post, but it would not let me. I have had a lot of questions on diet asked to me. I am on the road almost every day for work. I stay in a hotel 70+ times a year. My home fridge is very bear. I eat very plain and stick to the basics when im on the road. Chicken, Beef, Fish and vegetables.…

^^^what he said! :) Also, now that you're at goal (I'm assuming), what are you doing, workout-wise, for maintenance? Will you keep with Crossfit, or tone it down...? Truly curious-- I like to plan ahead! :) [/quote] I'm not quite at goal yet, but close ;). Hopefully one more month and I can relax a little on my diet. I…

Yea, my shoulder was sore and I ignored the pain and kept working out. Not smart on my part. I would agree that there is a increase degree of injury in CrossFit vs traditional weight lift at gym. When ever you do anything at a high intensity you are subject for injury. ALL sports are an example of this. Not all trainers…
