  • Hi, 14 grams of fiber is low. 25 grams/day is the recommended amount.i don't think you can eat too much fiber unless you get gas or diarrhea. Fiber is a good thing. You should just focus on the calories.

  • If you like veggies, it is good to snack on celery, carrot or cucumber sticks. I can eat green beans right out of the can or steamed vegetables as a snack. PLUS be sure to drink a lot of water, tea, anything sugar free. Good Luck!

  • Some protein with the oatmeal will fill you up. Add some greek yogurt, chopped walnuts, chia seeds or flax meal. BTW - flax meal is a laxative and can cause some flatulance. HOWEVER, it is a great source of omega fats and is good for your heart. Fruit is also a great addition.

  • I don't like to mix foods. When I was little it was worse. If I was eating mixed vegetables I would first eat all the beans, then all the corn, then all the carrots....Now I eat the vegetables first, then the protein then the starch. I always hope that I will be too full to finish the starch, but it never happens.
  • I try to enter food ahead of time. Unfortunatley, you can't always do that. But it is best to avoid all liquid calories if possible, juices, coffee or tea with sugar, alcohol. Alcohol is a killer!

  • I have been having smoothies with chia seed, banana, berries and almond milk. I used to have oatmeal with nuts, dried berrries or apples, Cinnamon and I would make 4 servings and refrigerate it and bring it to work. I keep 1% fat milk for my cereal at work.

  • I used to eat all night long, cereal with milk, toast with butter, leftovers from dinner. So now I try to limit night snacking to a smothie under 300 calories or string cheese. If I go over m calorie limit, i will go for a walk so i am not tempted.
