  • Thanks everyone! I think I will use my Camelback pack (without the water resevoir) to run with. And it's ok if I don't have anyone there; I can be quite convivial in the company of two thousand people with beer - I am sure I will make a few friends!
  • Hello, I am going to be running in first 5k in May. What do you do with your wallet, keys, etc while you are running? There is a block party with food, beer, and entertainment after the race and it might get chilly at night; therefore, I will need to bring a small jacket. I am taking the train downtown so I won't have my…
  • Actually, Dave, the poster did not ask a question. He simply stated that he disagrees with the suggested amount of protein that MFP gave him because he is a "powerlifter." He then requested comments on this opinion. Comments is what he got.
  • I must agree. Your husband needs to help you out in the mornings. If he gets in at 1am, then he can get up at 6:30 to start the breakfast/waking up process. This alone would give you an hour (5:30 - 6:30) to exercise and then you could shower/dress after. Perhaps he can take a nap at 11am or so. I worked nights for a while…
  • I am registered! Anybody else running it? http://www.chicagospecialevents.com/event.cfm?eid=163&sa=pvt
  • Wow. I think you guys jumped all over her a bit prematurely. She didn't say, or even suggest, that she planned to consume so little nor did she state that this was going to be a daily thing. She was simply commenting that it happened. One day last week my net calories resulted in about 800 (and I am a 178 pound man!). She…
  • That is a great statement. I find it interesting that we (as a society) refer to chronic overeating (usually portion control) as "normal." The Biggest Loser? Its right up there all of the TV shows that "send the wrong" message; it is entertaining for some and disgusting to the others. Like soap operas.... Talk shows....…
  • My first road bike was an OCR-2 also! It was stolen within 2 weeks of moving to Chicago. Grrrr! I replaced it with a 30 year old Myata (sp?) that I turned into a single speed. Love it!
  • I believe you will still lose weight (or remain thin), but you'll "pay for it" when you're 60!
  • LMAO!! True Dat! (although, I should mention that I am too old to use "dat".)
  • Dude...are you married to my wife?!?! Blouses galore....but when I mention I need an $80 Body Fat Measuring scale....I get the rolling eyes.....LOL! I do love her though! Dizzang!
  • That's cool, man! Yeah, wives seem reluctant to let us invest in things like this.... I tend to order and THEN tell her (easier to ask foregiveness than permission rule)! It is a great augment/alternative to running! Enjoy!
  • Wow! You took me from a "stupid" question to a "great" question! Thanks! Thank you both for the quick response! I will change it soon!
  • When I joined the site, I just used my first name's initial and last name. Now I don't have a cool username like Fitness_Chick or TamTastic! I don't want to lose all of my recorded information, but I can't find how to change my username without signing up again. Any help?
  • Squats! Great for the glutes too!

  • Ladies.....trust me.....losing the "boobies" is fine! A fitter, leaner you is MUCH more important (AND sexier!)!
  • 3 miles for me this morning!

  • Me too! Our first beautiful day since November, so the neighbors came over to enjoy our porch with us. 3 beers, 2 rum drinks, and a glass of port later..... Grrrrr......
  • I used to compete in bodybuilding competions. I am not into that anymore (I'm 40....just want to keep my joints working as well as possible), but muscle is what gives people their shape! The first and second biggest muscle groups in a body: Quads and Glutes! Everyone (men AND women) should be hitting the squat rack once a…
  • Apple-tini? I think you are my new best friend! I am new here also. Glad to see you!
  • Thanks everyone! I am pretty good with tracking my diet and eating well. However, I seem to have love/hate relationship with vodka. In fact, I think it is time for a martini now....
  • I need to lose about 15lbs. I just want to be able to keep up with my daughter in 10 years! Looking better for my wife wouldn't hurt either!
  • Yeah....I cut my run short by about 1/2 mile. Legs are feeling it now! Ugh!
  • I did Plyometrics today at 11:30am. Planning to run at 5:30pm. Woo hooo!
