So please tell me are Eggs good for you, if boiled or poached ?
I read they can raise cholesterol but are a good source of protein also.
So are they best avoided or to be eaten in moderation.
Thanks in advance.

Eaten in moderation is fine. They do raise cholesterol but there's nothing wrong with having a few eggs a couple times a week.0

The jury is out on cholesterol.
More recent studies show that dietary cholesterol has very little effect on overall cholesterol, and also high cholesterol isn't really that bad for you. There is just one type of cholesterol (LDL type that is damaging.
Conclusion: eat eggs. you can even fry or scramble them if you want, just track your cooking oil.0 -

Actually, this has been largely debunked. More recent studies have shown that if anything, dietary cholesterol tends to increase HDL levels (good cholesterol)...but really, dietary cholesterol has very little impact on blood serum. Your liver makes far more cholesterol...eating a couple of eggs is akin to putting a dollar bill in a vault with a billion $ in it...drop in the bucket.
Ounce for ounce, eggs are one of the most nutrient dense foods on the planet and very good for you. Also, I HAD high bad cholesterol...I eat 2 eggs daily...my cholesterol is completely normal now. Blood serum cholesterol has as much to do with what you're not eating and not doing as much as anything else.

Thanks for the replys I knew I would get some good advise here, I just get confused with all the talk of cholesterol & assume it = bad so that is why I asked the question because I do like my boiled eggs in a sandwich.0

Eggs (eating both yolk and white) are fine.
There was a lot of shaming regarding eating eggs at one time, but as somebody rightly pointed ut, it has now been debunked.
I love eggs, they are such good sources of protein and other nutrients, I eat three per day.0 -
I also eat three to five per day and my cholesterol levels are fantastic (and I used to eat twelve per day!).0

Yep to everyone's replies here. I've eaten 2 eggs scrambled in butter every morning (during the work-week at least) since November 2012, and my cholesterol has actually dropped.0
