  • I wasnt judging them.. at least not intentionally.. it was meant to be a question about how somebody who must burn 3000 to 4000 calories per day is not stick thin and the only answer i can think is that they are eating 3500 to 4500 calories per day. I didnt say they were fat nor was I being critical but I cant help but…
  • You look really proud and pleased and so you should. Thats a great achievement. Did you eat 1200 net or gross?
  • brosciento - Muscular evil demi-god who can create chaos with his utter rubbish which is dispelled to sway the unknowing from the righteous path. gullabedes - disciple of brosciento who can often be found injecting shark piss into his eyeball because some ripped dude (see above) at the gym told him it was 100% protein.…

  • First place I gain it and last place I lose it Baz. Up until a few weeks ago I dont think I had seen my adams apple for about 10 years. I am sure that you just notice it more because you are being more critical with yourself. There is no particular exercise that can spot reduce fat, it will just go of its own damn accord…
  • I thought you were about to ask a question about weighing before or after the toilet :)
  • This is all part of the trick.. dont fall for it!
  • I thought you were about to say that she found your internet history... phew man.. lucky escape!
  • Thanks.. great post. It more or less explains my weight loss history before and since joining this site. In brief, I have gone from very active 5 years ago (armed forces) to very sedentary. such a major change is bound to have consequences and whilst I was overweight whilst in the armed forces (towards the top end of a…
  • ^^^ this definitely. There are other ways to work a bit more into your day and get the same net result. I have a sedentary desk bound job and have found the best way for me to work a bit more activity is to use the toilets on a different floor, print to the printer on the ground floor and take the stairs etc. There is also…
  • Technology has moved on quite considerably over the last few years with respect to footwear. It wouldn't hurt to have your gait analysed at your local sports shop (most do it if they sell training shoes) and make sure that you are wearing a pair of running shoes that give you adequate support. This is something that helped…
  • Oh I forgot about endomodo.. fantastic app. You can actually look at the map and see where you have crossed over the road whilst out running it is so accurate! I was looking for a decent yoga app just to give it a go as there are no classes around here. I will look at those daniel miller ones thanks folks
  • :) Ahhh students and their lack of gadgetry. I get the kids to scan most of my stuff with the iphone app. I am going to make the assumption that you knew that but will tell you just in case.. you can scan the barcodes of any packets you use and just put down how much of the packet you ate. Makes it all pretty easy and Im…
  • eek.. I seem to remember you did this a month or so ago.. easter maybe? Really tricky situation given the eating history. The thing is she will have had counselling for the anorexia and so understands the benefit of balanced nutrition even if its not something that she can really talk about. But maybe avoid talking about…
  • hi, 45 M, started at 206 and am now 185. Most of my loss was pre MFP and I have now started to go back up a bit as I build muscle. I have learned so much from this site about the correct way to do things and now have a plan for the rest of my life. dramatic huh Feel free to add me Ian
  • it completely backs up the saying "somebody in a worse position than you is doing something about it right now" Amazing story
  • Somebody up there ^^^ mentioned the fitbit.. which is a fantastic device to do exactly what you were asking. It takes all of the guesswork out of 'how active am i being'. I set all of my settings to sedentary with no planned workouts and the fitbit just adds an adjustment each time I sync. It doesn't pick up all exercise…
  • Right back atcha :)
  • Kindra.. you are amazing. Surrounding myself with good and determined people like you contributes to my own success.
  • I was driven to post a blog about this very thing today. http://www.myfitnesspal.com/blog/acresfield I have gained 7lbs in 20 days and lost 4% in body fat. If I had been weigihing myself every day then I would surely have chickened out before achieving this
  • Holland and Barrett are pretty good if you can find some on offer. I use bodyfit whey protein usually after my evening meal to top up whenever I haven't eaten enough protein for the day. I set my daily goal for 25% of my diet but it can be hard to get the macros right. That's where I find the shakes useful.
  • Masking tape and a cattle prod to keep me away from the kids biscuit tin!
  • that helps!! So.. I guess the answer to how much should I be shooting for is just to see what happens.. and dont buy any more expensive jeans until I get there? Thanks Kelly
  • :) thanks folks. (nice typo brett  ) Still all a bit confusing though. I have to say I dont really weigh myself at all any more and havent done so in about 3 weeks because I didnt want to terrify myself whilst I was trying to find the right calories for a steady weight loss.
  • In fairness, you seem to be one of those lucky people who doesnt really carry it around your face. and since I assume that they are not checking you out in the shower then they may not have noticed. It is very noticeable in the pictures though.. get them printed on a tshirt and wear it to the office :)
