I too am obsessed with OCR's. I completed my frist Trifecta last year. Charlotte Sprint, VA Super and the SC Beast. Looking for a double trifecta this year. In addition, I will be doing BattleFrog again (last year was awesome), Ruggged Maniac and hopefully I can squeeze in a Tough Mudder. I own a bucket of rocks, a cinder…

Less than 4 weeks to the SC Spartan Beast! Can't wait to earn that Trifecta!

Aroo dracarys! I guarantee you will be addicted. October is my Beast...still have a long ways to go...especially since I know the terrain...and its awful!

Thank you Cerakoala! I appreciate the kind words!

BattleFrog Carolinas!!! 9.3 Miles. 34 Obstacles. 94+ Degree Heat! Time to bring it!

8 Weeks is plenty of time. 7 to work hard and then I advise the last week you relax, hydrate, get a message and don't get hurt!

I did my first one last year. Your training really depends on your level of fitness. For me I trained about 8 weeks, mostly running and for stamina. You do need to do upper body training as well for the rings, money bars and walls. Although the distance can range from 12-14 miles, you do get a lot of breaks waiting to…

Awesome!

Calf stretches, shin stretches, taking your toes and performing the alphabet with your feet. Lately I have been rolling my foot on a tennis ball before and after runs or when I am just tight and it was been really helpful.

I ran the Spartan Race and it was barely 40 degrees and freezing rain, sometimes down pour and sometimes sideways. It was absolutely brutal. Warming up and after the race I was frozen. I was excited to run just to keep warm. But that was short lived with wading through shoulder high water and cold mud. But I definitely…

Ab Ripper is brutal! Finished Legs and Back. Legs jello!

I trained for my first obstacle race, the Hero Rush last year for a couple months. I was also coming off shoulder surgery. My initial goals were to build up running stamina. Slowly started running 1 miles and gradually increased it until I could run a 5k outdoors. The race was brutal on my thighs. Doing burpees, squats,…

Great job man! I have a couple more weeks to go on SL 5x5. It has definitely been gratifying.

I too have been doing 5X5 since December. I have seen much improvement in all the areas but I too have struggled with the overhead press and feel like I can drop it as well. On occasion I have had to drop the weight to maintain form to complete. I still try to up the weight every week but I am careful not to strain my back…

You would need to get a heart rate monitor and add the exercise to cardiovascular section. You can enter a description, minutes performed and calories burned. Otherwise, the site does not have a way of calculating calories burned during strength training that I am aware of.

By far sugar is definitely worse. Sugar raises your insulin levels. Any unused insulin gets stored in your cells as fat. Healthy fats in food such as olive oil, coconut oil, avacado, salmon, cod are quite good for you. On the other hand, trans fats, too much Omega 6 fats can be a detriment to your body. Excess Omega 6 fats…

Congratulations. That is an amazing transformation. I am extremely happy for you. I hope that with all the weight you lost you lost those cigarettes as well!

Good luck on the half marathon!

You can drink your calories and lose weight too. Believe me, every weekend I enjoy my beers and shots of jagermeister. I often get asked how I lose weight when I still drink. It can be done. As for coffee-stay away from the lattes and all that other fu fu stuff. Coffee with milk or half and half (which I drink). I don't…

Wouldn't it be because they don't speak English? Which, they do have a couple songs in English. Just saying.

My 4 year old daughter tries to do P90X Cardio/Plyo with me. She is so cute. She is also the best trainer. Finished riding the stationary bike for 30 mins and was done with a workout. She told me to get back on the bike and do more exercise. The next Jillian Michaels! My almost 2 year old son pushes me to. He likes to add…
