I have been experiencing the same thing. I have had my HRM Polar FT7 for two weeks. In those two weeks I gained three pounds and lost three pounds. Before that I was losing 1 per wee pretty consistently. Diet remained the same. Today I decided to under estimate my HRM calories burned. It said I burned 457. I only put 357…

Legs, especially the hamstrings. 5 years I have not had one after they were used for ACL replacement. So nice to have the muscle back!

Weight gain is common when you start lifting weights. I put on 3+ the week after I started. But first, let me tell you that you did NOT build 5 pounds of muscle with one workout. That takes time so ignore that previous post. What I have learned from here is that by using your muscles and creating soreness, your body…

@Kathy_Welcome. I am another fellow Long Islander who lives in Charlotte. Great place to be, great people and the NY errs are nicer if you can believe that! lol

First, let me say thank you for your service as well as your husband! Second, do you know the issue with your shoulder? I had surgery done on mine for a torn labrum. One thing I learned with therapy is you do NOT need a lot of weight to work it and get it strong again. Building all the small muscles around it helps take…

Staying hydrated certainly helps. Also realize though that you exerted a lot of effort on your 20 minute run that your muscles just may be tired. Yesterday I had my best run ever beating 10mins per mile. I ran today and was pumped to try and beat it but I ran out of gas halfway through. My body was just plain tired. I felt…

Your manager is an idiot for suggesting that the exercise you were doing is not good for you. Anything that gets you moving, sweating and burning calories is good for you. But, as for the running, I was in a similar situation. I was never a runner. Any cardio exercise I did came from walking or fitness DVDs etc. I know a…

FT7 Love it. Real easy to use.

Sorry KJ, your food selection is pretty terrible. I only looked at a couple days, both days you were over and both days you had cupcakes, chocolate bars, frozen ice cream. If you really want to change, you need to change your lifestyle and commit to yourself to be healthy. If you are hungry and want a snack, grab an apple…

Self confidence brother. You have come this far and KNOW you will go even further. Just tell yourself, you are healthy, you are motivated and you are gonna fit in even smaller sized jeans. Go to your closet, take all the 38's and every other oversized article of clothing and stick them in a bag. Accumulate the clothes and…

After a couple months of running, I finally broke the 10 minute per mile obstacle. 2.54 miles in 24:58 minutes. WooHoo!

There have definitely been times, as a PARENT, that I wish I had a leash for my boy. Toddler under 2. He is a good little kid but too curious and has no fear...why should he. I have seen this kid move so fast and nearly faceplant into the pool or take off without a moment's notice. For those PARENTS who do employ a harness…

One bag is 88 calories popped. Unless you plan on eating unpopped kernels, you don't have to worry about unpopped calories.

The more you stress about set backs the worse your body will react. Stress can play a major role in weight gain. It is my personal demon. First and foremost, don't stress. Drink plenty of water. Water helps you stay hydrated, and increases your metabolism. Protein is your friend. Watch carbs and sugars. Fruit is great but…

Definitely the fall. Football, Halloween, cooks crisp weather...can't beat it.

More water. more water. more water. Reduce fruits as snack. Excess sugar and carbohydrates if not used get stored as fat. Even though fruits are good for you and have an abundance of antioxidants, most of them are high glycemic. Your blood sugar will spike rapidly and if there is too much insulin produced and not utilized,…

I bought the same HRM last week and it seems accurate. It will calculate calories burned after your work oyt if you keep it on. Drones metabolism is different. Some of us have a higher heart rate based on health and fitness. MFP is generalized. Trust three HRM.

Fantastic job. Congrats

I'm not fat, I'm just big boned!

Protein. Fiber. Complex or low glycemic load carbohydrates. Also, what you may believe to be hunger just might be thirst. If you are getting more out of your workouts, you may be needing more hydration.
-
Hopefully with time, your family will start getting behind you. In the meantime you need to stay focused on your goals and how you feel. MFP will definitely be supportive. My biggest advice is to make it a lifestyle change and don't look at this as a diet. Create reward for yourself for hitting little milestones, log on to…
