Live in the NW burbs and work just north of the city (Evanston)...anyone around me, PM me, I can only go on so many walks and swims alone!

Before surgery, I told my immediate family, close friends and close co-workers (we eat lunch every day together and they would quickly notice a change in habits when I went on my required pre-op liquid diet). I work in a hospital, so much people understand what RNY is (I did not have surgery here though) I don't regret…

I'm almost 5 months out and I can't eat anything solid right when I wake up. I always start my day off with a protein shake, then breakfast once I've been up an hour or two.

I'm four months out and started really working out about a month after surgery. I've worked up to walking at least 30 minutes every day. On top of that I work with a trainer twice a week with a huge focus on strength and resistance training. I recently added a weekly tennis lesson to my workouts too.

I got my approval in about a week and a half. I was told I should expect to wait 4-6 weeks.

Mine is a little burp or I feel "something" in the back of my throat when I try to eat an extra bite

Yup, I'm definitely colder now, such an odd feeling! I'm 8 weeks out now. (woah, time flies!)

I definitely can't eat right when I get up. My pouch needs some time to wake up. I hav about a 45 min commute to work, I just sip a water based protein shake on my way in. Then about an hour or hour and half later, I actually eat something.

Isn't it a great feeling?!?! I haven't lost a ton yet, but I got rid of a ton about a month after I had surgery, it was an odd realization that those things would never fit me again.

I'm sure that is an awesome feeling, congrats!
