  • I used to love peanut butter in my smoothies but switched to PB2 and I don’t miss it at all. I also like powdered peanut butter in baked goods, oatmeal and savory dishes. Some people mix it with water and spread it on toast and such but that is totally gross and disgusting and just don’t.
  • If you’ve been vegan for a long time, switching to a lower carb diet can be a big adjustment. I tried it and my body rebelled. We’re talking non-stop farts all day long. For someone who is accustomed to a high protein diet, maybe it’s not so harsh. The thing is, I never got close to what is considered a low carb diet. It…
  • An air fryer is a must if you have the counter space. I sprinkle tofu with corn starch, seasonings and chickpea flour and spray with Pam. I air fry it at 400 for 20 min, shaking twice.
  • My favorite thing is buying the frozen Amy’s Chinese Noodles in Cashew Cream Sauce. I add a big handful of steamed broccoli and half a block of air-fried tofu. Then I pack half for lunch the next day and eat the rest for dinner. I think it’s even better this way.
  • I think these are all great ideas but I get tired of eating the same thing several days in a row. My method is when I cook something like a bean curry or veggie chili, I put the leftovers in a silicone muffin cups, pop out when frozen and store in a zip loc bag. I’ll do this with cooked brown rice and couscous aw well. I…
  • I made this over the weekend and it is really awesome. The recipe makes a ton so I halved it. I put 1 oz in the refrigerator with a 1/2 cup of almond milk and a half cup of blueberries. With two tsp of maple syrup it came to just under 300 calories. joythebaker.com/2013/02/toasted-oat-and-coconut-muesli/
  • Things I do to stay healthy as a runner: use a saline spray after running outside otherwise I get frequent sinus infections, use a high quality electrolyte supplement if I run in hot weather (Elete, only $5, is at GNC) and get an extra half hour to an hour of sleep if I'm feeling run down. It does not sound to me like you…
  • cwolfman13: I am referring to layering multiple measures on top of each other to find correlations. I am actually not interested in correlations between protein and body fat % at all. The way I eat and exercise is unique to me and I don't expect MFP to know how I would want to look at my data. Just off the top of my head,…
  • The Runner's World program sounds more like the Galloway program that I used when I first started running. Compared to C25k, the walking breaks are shorter but so are the running intervals. The emphasis is more on increasing distance than on increasing minutes without taking a walk break. It is easier for me to follow…
  • I agree with Heidi. The best way to shut up the little voice is get rid of the 38's. It is much easier to backslide when you are wearing baggy clothes.
  • Thanks guys! This is a big help. I know I'm not getting enough calories because when I went for a run this morning, I had ZERO energy. :noway: Melissa
