• Kelly what a beautiful story. I am very happy for you ;) dealing with shoulder distocia like a champ. I definitely had less appetite. I felt full so easily! Thinking of you gals.
• I am going to get an IUD after I am done recovering. I am thinking skyla rather than mirena since that is good for 3 years rather than 5 and is closer to the spacing we would like between kids. I was using nuvaring before starting to try for pregnancy so I really don't want to go back to taking a pill every day. I respect…
• Congrats Dawn! What a beautiful birth story. How nice that he came on his own :)
• Here is my birth story: Rowena Elaine was born on Saturday July 13th at 39 weeks exactly! She was 7 lbs even and 19.5 inches long. From about 37 weeks I had a huge increase in braxton hicks contractions, and on Wednesday of last week I lost my mucus plug and had loose stools all day. I didn't think much of it since I knew…
• I will be using cloth and am weirdly excited about it! For anyone with questions I highly recommend this page. All kinds of info and diaper reviewst: http://dirtydiaperlaundry.com/cloth-diaper-information/ Also I know Babycenter can be a horrible place, but the cloth diapering group there has been invaluable to me:…
• I am so excited to hear birth stories! Kelly like you I am also having "false labor" and have also been told it could go on for weeks. Ugh. Sometimes painful, sometimes not. I am so glad your midwives got things sorted out for you regarding your home birth!
• The quilt is gorgeous :) My midwife won't do any cervix checks until I am in active labor, but as of today I am pretty sure I am losing my plug (TMI?) So that is hopeful that things are pointing towards go time? Had a few painful contractions last night, but they went away and am back to my constant PIA braxton hicks.…
• Congrats Laura! It sounds like you had a beautiful birth :) @Kelly I would love to see your quilt when finished! I still have 11 days until my due date. Yesterday I spent some time putting finishing touches on the nursery, and put all her books/toys out on her book shelf. Of course then one of our dogs spent the rest of…
• Huge uptick in braxton hicks the last few days. Really for the past 3 days they come as often as 7 minutes a part, but go nowhere. Basically meaning nothing! Feeling ready to meet her, and much less nervous about becoming a Mom. Trying to make lots of plans to occupy myself, and not say no to anything even if it is close…
• Smart to make mattress pads! They are always so overpriced. Ladies! 1.5 days until July!!!!
•
"That is so cool that you made the baby carrier! Did you find a pattern for it online? How did it turn out? I'd love to see a picture :)"
I used this pattern: http://www.grumblesandgrunts.com/2010/10/how-to-sew-mei-tai-baby-carrier.html Only difference is I pre sewed in the batting before turning. Seemed…
• This is great!!!!
• I am with you with the whole going to the bathroom 4-5 times a night. I also get woken up by her kicking and think it is a cat walking on me, only there is no cat in sight to blame. I am also having my GBS screening this week. Struggling to exercise more than a couple times a week! I have been enjoying my sewing machine,…
• It's ok. You still have time! Do you have a pilates/work out ball? Those are great to sit on and encourage good posture and baby positioning. I have been doing everything on one, sitting at my desk, folding laundry, watching tv. etc. Every little bit helps. Yoga :) Penny Simpkin talks about good positioning in her book on…
• I am a teacher too, just 3 weeks and 2.5 days left until summer. Thank goodness.
• 28 weeks 5 days and also feeling huge! My back and belly are starting to get sore. It is hard to stand or sit for any real length of time. I imagine it only gets worse! I teach orchestra, so am on my feet most of the day playing/conducting, and trying to find stools to sit on to make things more comfortable. Nothing is…
• Oh man the heartburn! Anyone else suffering? What is working for you?
• I think that is a great goal! I am 22+5 and have gained almost the exact same amount. I usually exercise about 3x a week, but am also struggling with it. We can do this :)
• wrong for me
• I have myfitnesspal set to gain a 1/2 lb a week (as of the second trimester). I mostly eat my exercise calories, sometimes not.
• I have been putting in whatever my HRM says -10% but I took off the 10% before getting pregnant too. I usually eat most of my calories back. (Or if I didn't I ate them on a day I didn't exercise :)
• my nausea was gone for several weeks, but has come back occasionally lately. I think it might almost be motion sickness from the baby moving? Is that possible?
• 20 weeks and +14.5. I was totally ok until this mornings weigh in. I only weigh every two weeks and I was up over 5 lbs since week 18! I know I didn't eat the calories to gain that, so I will assume it is ok and normal.
• I do too, sometimes I go through the trouble of using the recipe creator, but other times I just do my best to estimate calories. It does still feel early to shop, but I did buy the baby a board book about Maryland because it was too cute to pass up, and two outfits on zulily that were at a huge price cut. I know silly me!
• New York and Company has long or tall length camis that are nice. Make sure you get the "long" style though, the regulars felt too short even when I wasn't pregnant.
• haha. Yeah two is much bigger than 1 :)
• 18 weeks and up 9.3 (just inside "normal") phew!
• Sounds like everyone is starting to really settle into this whole being pregnant thing. We shelled out 80 bucks and paid for a 16 week gender check at one of those silly boutiques. Silly me. Definitely know the baby's sex now, and also got to see a little glimpse on the 3d. It was waving/opening/closing its little hands.…
• Hi everyone :) Anyone getting a cute bump yet or know what the sex of the baby is? I am 15 weeks today, and feel like I might be showing a little, but mostly just look chubbier. Looking forward to actually looking pregnant. I know since it is my first baby, it could be up to another 5 weeks until I really show. Then I will…
• 13 weeks and gained 4 lbs.
