  • Hi Kempossible, sorry only just back on here. I have 14lbs til I am back at goal weight. I have seen two different surgeons so far and not 100% sure if I'll go with either of them yet. Can you let me know how you are doing? I hope it all went well, I am guessing its 16-20 weeks since yours now, so you should be back to…
  • Great, thanks :-) Just been reading up on Starting Strength, and it mentions that this is usual for novices, so I'm not a total freak then ;-)
  • Thank you x
  • Because I used to be ( until a year ago) 2 stone lighter than I am now, and I have never been able to get rid of the 'apron' the loose skin and bagginess that is left over from being 2 stone heavier previously and a pregnancy and a c section. I lift weights, I run, I have tried everything, but nothing will get rid of that…
  • I hear you. I am trying to get some behavioural therapy sorted, as its a mental health issue rather than a hunger issue, I need to find out what triggers this reaction, and how to stop it happening and ruling my life every second of every day. Its awful, exhausting and bad news for you confidence. If I figure something…
  • Thanks for all of your replies, you have set my mind at ease that I am not just 'being lazy' and it is the sensible thing to do! Having had a busy day with my 5 yr old and 2 dog walks anyway (my job is a dog walker), I am feeling pooped now anyway. Nice bath later and that'll be me done!! Hopefully I can kick this soon so…
  • OP, I find it hard to cope with the general 'stuff' in life everyone else seems to be able to cope with so easily. I have stopped beating myself up and telling myself that I am obviously pathetic, and to man up, instead, I understand my limits, and although I do try to push myself out of my comfort zone occasionally, so as…
  • Everything you are saying sounds so familiar. Its sounds like you are mildly depressed, but I am not a doctor. Would heavily advise you seeing one asap and telling them your concerns. Also, do they not refer you for some kind of talking therapy, or are there any groups around your area which could help support? Mums/eating…
  • Thanks. Last night I worked out 5.30-6.40pm. Then came home, and ate tuna, green salad, greek yogurt and berries, with flaxseeds. Finished eating by 8.20...posted around 10pm ish...I ate over 130grams of protein yesterday, so I know I am getting enough, or at least on the right ratios. When I posted, I was purely noticing…
  • When my little one was younger, and I was going through a bout of depression again, I went straight back on fluoxetine - never before had I actively 'wanted' to, but this time, I knew I needed to, just to be able to continue every day being the person I needed to be. I was tired, listless, no energy (even though I was…
  • Thankyou, again, saying more eloquently what I am trying to put across!!
  • This. Thank you... you understand what I am trying to say. Obviously I am not eloquent enough to get my point across...
  • My protein quoto is very high, so is my fats, so is my fibre. Thanks anyway, but I think you're missing my point. I also think that not eating for 8 hours or more is fine, seeing as I do intermittent fasting, this is really not an issue.
  • I agree with your statement. I think part of the problem with society has something to do with the fact that we are so terrified of being hungry...for me anyway, I have always felt hunger, and thought 'its not an acceptable thing, so quick...must eat more!!' I only finished my dinner 2hrs ago, so I am not in need of any…
  • 'There is no need ever to be hungry'....I think that's part of the problem, to me and my mind set anyway - that its never ok to be hungry. Actually I think its ok to get a bit peckish now and again, and NOT feed it. Its not crazy oh my god my stomach is growling and acid is going on, just a teeny feeling I would normally…
  • If you can refuel (eat) as soon as poss after exercise, your body takes on board much more quickly than if you leave it over an hour before you eat. This means it'll be able to recover faster. So, your protein rich dinner when you get home is fine, but add a bit of carb to it. Not pasta or white rice or bread, but…
  • Great, thanks for replies guys. Seem to be a lot on the net anyway... have had a goozy and written some ideas down. Anyone know what ratio is better for after burn, ie 1:2 (say 1 min top speed, 2 min recovery) or 2:1 (1 min top speed, 30 sec recovery) or are these differences basically so that everyone is able to…
  • wow, fantastic, well done!!!
  • Hi all, thanks for your replies...hopefully there will always be someone around for us to help each other on, even at our worst points... Well, the good news is, I just weighed myself and I am actually 160lbs not 168 - bloody doctors old fashioned scales, I thought that was a little bit excessive!! Phew... still a way to…
  • You are me!! I a exactly the same (ok, a little taller and quite a bit heavier) but yes, I hear ya!! I have booked a course of 4 hypnotherapy sessions, as I really need to sort my eating issues out, its my head thats the problem. I am sick of having this rule my life. I would too, rather be 9 stone for the rest of my life,…
  • Hi guys, just posed my own thread and now seen this - 5'2.5 lady needing to lose over 20lbs...could really do with a support network too...feel free to add me :-) x
  • Totally hear ya - I'm just below 5'2 and need very few cals to maintain (1300) so many many less to lose weight, it is very very hard. People that get to eat 1800 plus per day just haven't got a clue ;-)

  • I don't mind pea or hemp, but it does taste...well if you like mushy peas, the little tiny taste you get from the pea one is like that, then hemp is ok, to be honest my fave, if you want to stay with plant based proteins, is SunWarrior protein powder, made with hemp and pea, and rice. Very easy to mix in with other stuff.…
  • I am 5'2, I run 30 miles a week, do 3 x 1 hour weights classes with 5kg dumbells in each hand and if I eat over 1600 cals on training days and more than 1350 on rest days I gain weight. Its that easy. My body is incredibly efficient, I have the appetite of a 6 foot man but have to eat so much less :-(!!! I will get slated…
  • I have exactly the same. Exactly. I have just started taking chromium capsules, as this is supposed to help rid you of any cravings, whatever it is you're addicted to. I will let you know how I get on :-)
