Wasn't saying anyone should be denied anything.

Fairly certain she's saying she prefers homemade veggie burgers over store bought.

I'm pretty sure "big cattle" isn't sending people to these forums to hate on veggie burgers. Also, the ingredients in meat replacements are grown by farmers, largely in "small government, conservative states."

Almost all dog foods contain a good portion of meat.

So he won a bodybuilding competition and his statements about nutrition are valuable as a result? Being a successful bodybuilder doesn't make someone knowledgeable about nutrition any more than using PEDs makes them ignorant.

My grandmother calls bell peppers "mangos." Seems silly to judge the quality of a food's ingredients list based on what someone born before WWII can recognize.

Soups are frankenfood. Baked goods are frankenfood. Salsa is frankenfood. Pasta sauce is frankenfood. Everything Binging With Babish makes is frankenfood.

That's an old bro's tale. The "window" is actually several hours.

Optimum Nutrition Gold Standard whey is tasty, mixes well, has a solid protein to calorie ratio and is relatively inexpensive. That's what I buy.

Counting calories is informed eating. Informed =/= disordered. Also counting calories is intentional eating. Intentional =/= disordered. If you think that counting calories makes you not a normal person or wish you "could be a normal person" and not count calories, consider that the "normal person" in a first world country…

It's a moot point since he likely doesn't burn that many calories in a day anyway. But if he ate literally nothing for two months in an attempt to try, he'd exceed Jesus' PR by 20 days.

I don't know...seems like the kind of information GNC would pay Examine to peddle. lol

Links to other (related) articles on their site are not ads. Also, calling an article about whey a "product" is a very loose definition of the word. Seriously, if "you may also like our other article on a related topic" is a bias red flag for you, I can't imagine that there is any source of information anywhere on the…

Well, I was further behind in this thread than I realized.

There aren't any.

Call me a skeptic but the fact that Examine.com is ad free (as in zero ads for anything other than their own subscription service, not even Google Adsense sidebar ads) has me squinting at the claim that "they looked like native ads." How can nonexistant ads look native?

That may still be the case. I'm just speaking of the individual coaches. Being a WW coach isn't exactly like being an RD (or even a nutritionist, really, and that's a low bar). The things I've heard after "my WW coach said..." don't instill much confidence.
-
No, they aren't. They may have ads asking you to subscribe to their site but they don't receive funds from supplement companies to advertise products. Per their "About Us" page, "100% of [their] revenue is generated from additional research synthesis that [they] sell to health professionals and individuals." In other…

With the exception of water, corn syrup and a little sugar, all the ingredients in canned fruit cocktail are fruit. The corn syrup and sugar would add a few extra calories but otherwise it's just fruit. How does it matter that it comes out of a can instead of the produce aisle?
-
Why so?
-
Wrong on both counts.

From what I've learned, WW coaches know little more than how to encourage you to count points and weight you in every week. Most that attempt to offer nutritional advice should not.

I mean they're decent ice cream for the protein and calories if you want an indulgent snack. Problem is you've got to take out a home equity loan to keep them stocked if you like ice cream.

I'm not a marathon runner but as a Cincinnatian, I'll say that you should only eat Skyline AFTER the race.

If you want a second opinion from another doctor, get one. But if you have hypothyroidism, you need the synthroid and can't just wean off it and expect the hypothyroidism to be gone. For the sake of your health, take it as prescribed until a doctor tells you otherwise.

I weigh almost every day but only log once a week.
