  • Maybe one of you could give me some words of advice. Over the years I have lost as much as 25 pounds here and there, but always gain it back. I have lost 17 pounds this time and I get this satisfied feeling that, "Oh, I've lost some weight, I can go back to not being careful..." But, I do so want to get on the other side…
  • I had a problem with the smiley faces too, but you just click on the one you want and it puts the words on where you're typing, but when it posts it turns into the face picture!!
  • I got to donate blood yesterday because my blood pressure was down!! I have another 4 weeks to look forward to losing 8 pounds. I have a place like MFP to report to everyday and find others who know exactly what I'm going through!!

  • I am a Postmaster Relief and work every Saturday. When the Postmaster is gone though I work for a week. That was the case last week. It is good, but I am always glad when it is over...It is good to get back on my regular schedule!
  • I'm grateful for a God who loves me and cares about my desire to lose weight. I have a wonderful husband and 14 lovely children and 6 sweet grandchildren. I am thanfkul that the object of my faith, the Lord Jesus Christ, is greater than anyone or anything else I could place my faith in. Three pounds lost last…
  • I had to work all last week and I really missed being on MFP! I continued to record my calories, but didn't get any time in on reading new postings or on the treadmill. I was afraid to weigh this morning, but when I did I had lost 3 pounds!!! I felt like I was going to burst! I was in a slump the week before and thinking I…
  • Hey, thanks for the weekend alert! I think if I prepare my mind before the weekend gets here I'll get through it better. I always weigh in on Monday mornings, so that will help me work for some results. Have a wonderful day!:flowerforyou:
  • I guess I have a little whining too. I think I'm up to my old tricks...being really "good" the day before I weigh so that I will see some progress. Well, this morning I had gained 2 pounds! What a disappointment, but a reminder that my old eating habits haven't totally been eradicated yet. Actually a helpful sign that I…
  • Yay, Weedie! I am 55 and I applaud your decisions to get the weight off. Just keep taking it a day at a time. It's alot mind over matter when temptations come. Keep busy and keep healthy snacks handy and the urge to just grab something will subside...
  • Hooray for you! Bicycling is the greatest, especially with nice weather coming. My husband and I take a bike ride every evening after supper. It's relaxing and enjoyable. Keep up the good work. You're right, it is a change in the way you live. I am trying to undo old, bad eating habits and form new ones that will last the…
  • Another thing you need to consider is the matter of drinking water. 8 to 10 glasses a day is the suggested amount for losing weight. I have found that it really does help me...Hang in there, you will start seeing results.
  • I love every one of my fourteen children and have no regrets about having as many children as I could, but I won't miss LOOKING like I'm pregnant for the rest of my life...
  • I used to watch the read-out screen just waiting until I was finished with my alloted time to walk. I decided to cover the screen and just walk. I am continually going at least twice as long as I had planned. It really is mind over matter. I have lost two more pounds this week as a result!!
  • I joined MFP about a week ago and am trying to get more and more familiar with all it has to offer. I came across this 50+ board today and I think this is something that will make a difference for me this time. I have been moderately overweight all my life (or so it seems) and after having 14 children I need to lose about…
  • Thanks for the help on the ticker! I think I have it now, but I have two of them. I went back in and deleted one of them so I hope that takes care of it. It is encouraging to actually see my progress...Have a good day!! :o)
  • Hey, I felt the same way. When I got finished logging what I ate I had 21 calories left. It doesn't always work that way though, one day I was over 651 calories!! That blew me away. The next day I got back on track and made sure that I had some calories left over at the end of the day. Exercising helped also. This site…
  • Thanks so much for the comments. I always thought counting calories was silly, but it is a real eye opener as to how much I have been eating!! I'm still trying to figure out how to put my ticker on, any hints?
  • I am a 55 year old mother of fourteen children, but I don't want to spend the rest of my life looking like I had 14 children. My daughter told me about this web-site and I have been keeping my diary for a week now and I am thrilled wth how helpful it is too keep track! I walk on the treadmill everyday and can even keep…
