I am sure she is a big girl and can handle it. You said she is a room mate so she must be old enough to pay rent. Sometimes it takes things like this to make them see the light. Continue with your goal and don't feel sorry for people that don't want to help them selves.

Sit ups, I know they suck. If your alone just put your feet under the front edge of the couch and go for it. Start out slow and work your way up. Try using a towel on the tops of your feet as well to cushion the tops of your feet while you are doing them.
