Thanks for all the responses. I was confused because after reading many posts, I found out that you're not supposed to eat below your BMR. My BMR is 1612. When I choose sedentary my cals for the day are 1440. So if I don't workout I will be eating below my BMR. When I choose lightly active on MFP it gives me 1600 cals…

I thought when MFP asked to pick your lifestyle.....sedentary, lightly active, moderately active, etc. it wanted to know what you did most of the day. I have an office job so i chose sedentary. Is it like a cramp? I was always told that you get cramps/side aches from not breathing right and not getting enough oxygen. Try to make sure you're breathing right. Thank you happyhiram. Im glad I saw this info. I havent been eating my exercise cals. This is only my first week. But im not exactly sure what im burning. Im doing the couch to 5k running program and the MFP database doesnt have cals burned for the exercise i am doing. I walk ang jog for approx 30 mins.

I'm a newbie. And am confused now. MFP tells me to eat 1220 cals per day. I thought MFP averaged in the exercise cals burned. So if I workout and burn 200 cals I have an extra 200 cals to eat on those days?
