When setting up my profile which do I choose? I have an office job for 8 hours per day and plan to workout 3-5 days per week. I sit most of the day....do I choose sedentary or lightly active because I plan to workout? Please help :)

Choose sedentary. When you log your workouts, it will give you extra calories. If you figure your exercise into your activity level, it would be like counting your exercise twice.

    Correct!

I also have a desk job and work out 3-4 days a week. Choose sedentary and when you work out add your exercise calories as extra food you can eat. :)

Well I started at lightly active but I'd say my job is pretty different to yours. I am a primary school teacher and teach 5 and 6 year olds. Perhaps if I taught older kids I wouldn't need to be quite so active but I take part in PE, play games at playtime with them, constantly moving around the room supporting and intervening.

Recently, I have been loosing much less weight (although still loosing inches) so decided to set my profile to sedentary as I'm in the holidays too. I have started loosing 2 pounds a week again so with a desk job I would definitely say stick to sedentary and just log all of your exercise.

Thanks for all the responses. I was confused because after reading many posts, I found out that you're not supposed to eat below your BMR. My BMR is 1612. When I choose sedentary my cals for the day are 1440. So if I don't workout I will be eating below my BMR. When I choose lightly active on MFP it gives me 1600 cals without working out. Im 37, 5'5", 191lbs. Any thoughts?

How many pounds are you set to lose per week?
