No matter how supportive are or not, it still comes down to you and the choices you make. Set a good example and he may change his ways also. Good luck

Congratulations on the weight loss, keep doing what you are doing. I'm sure she means well, but no need to share.

It is the same for me. One of my biggest shocks was when my trainer told me that some of her clients are hoping to get to the same shape where I currently am. I think I need to lose about 30 pounds. I guess it all is related to where you are now and where you think you should be in your head.

For me, the more mindless the exercise, the better I will feel afterwards. I do group exercise where someone is telling me what to do and I just focus on the instructions and do it. Running and swimming are the same, just keep doing it and when you finish you will feel better.

You can retain water after an intense exercise event, like your 5K, so you will show more weight on a scale. Stick with it and the weight will come off and give your body some time to get adjusted to your new lifestyle. Good luck/

Take one day at a time and start simply, log your food, evaluate your choices and improve. Good luck on your journey.

You have lost 5.9 lbs in 2 weeks and you don't consider that success? I find this confusing, as I would consider it a huge success. You weight loss will not be linear and there will be many weeks that you don't lose anything. I would recommend looking at the big picture = trending in the right direction. Not sure if you…

My sister's colon cancer was discovered with a colonoscopy, which saved her life. I have had 3 colonoscopies since then as precaution. Colonoscopy's save lives. Just follow the dietary recommendations and plan on a day at home for your prep day so you can take care of business.

Hey, great job on the weight loss. Sometimes it's best not to ponder on stupid things that our spouses say. I'm sure he is very proud of all of your hard work.

Just curious, why not let your wife know what you are trying to do, especially since she is in to fitness? Seems like it would be helpful to your success if you got your wife involved, just saying...

Why not start with something you like to do? It is easier to stick with an exercise plan if you like it. If you are comfortable on the treadmill, start there and as you get stronger, add in some work with weight machines. Does your gym help you to develop a work out plan? If so, schedule an appointment to get some help…

Your weight loss and maintenance is all about YOU! Congratulations on your accomplishments. Don't worry about the folks who don't get it, that's their problem, not yours. For every person who is not supportive, there are probably three that are struggling to do what you have already done and would love to hear about what…

Good for you, what a great accomplishment!

I agree with the stretching recommendation and also try to drink more water on your walking days

I work full time as well and find that I need to add my exercise time to my calendar and schedule the block of time just like any other appointment. I plan my exercise time in every week to make it work with everything else in my life.

I'm in that age group, you can add me!
