No. But then we don't live together, I suppose that helps. I do most of the cooking so I cook healthy meals which are also tasty (I like my food). He tops up quite a bit often with sweets and cakes, but these aren't things that tempt me so that's fine.

Well of course it can work. My journey's been a bit different, and I'm very glad to have shared that with a really great variety of friends. I've *slept* with lots of people - no sex, just human company and comfort, because that's what we've agreed on. And of course my partners - all male, few but long term. There's a big…

I don't really see why? I admire my female friends and my male ones for whatever characteristics they happen to have and I love having them on board for my journey (and sharing theirs). Can't really understand why it's such a big deal - people are just people.

I - umm mostly just have friends, don't really care about age or gender... just whether I like them and we can have a conversation. My partners are in a different category. I've had sexual hassle from both men and women and dislike it of course but it's been a question of where to draw a line. My male friends (gay and…

I don't much like quinoa - the best recipe I've found is to combine 50% cooked quinoa with 50% breadcrumbs, herbs and pepper, use to stuff portabello mushrooms (wipe the outside of the mushrooms with a little olive oil) top with a little strongly flavoured grated cheese and bake for about 20 mins. Very low calorie, and easy.

Yeah it takes me quite a while - my meals vary a lot and are mostly cooked from scratch. All part of the process...

I was very thin and got teased for that and for my height (6').

Good question. He's an active recruiter. Also deeply unattractive. I'm not sure what her take on things is. I'm for one-to-one relationships myself - so I suppose I avoid them because my choices are different.
-
Does anyone care? If iti's open and with mutual consent then fine. If not and it's cheating then it's wrong. Would never be my choice and I avoid swingers I personally know

I am bothered about it. I asked my boyfriend and he says in older photos I look like a walking skeleton. I don't have much sense of right-weight-for-my-height. Not in danger of wasting away anytime soon, of course, but I do need to to understand setting a sensible goal and not exceeding it.

1 in 3, apparently...

I read it and I'm so sorry - your Mom sounds wonderful. I've lost my grandmother, my uncle and one of my brothers to bowel cancer. They were all rather brave about it.
-
Sorry - I've reached my first goal weight, but not yet where I'd like to be. I'm concerned about maintenance too, so interested to see the replies...
-
That genuinely made me laugh out loud - thank you. I have about the heaviest cat ever but I've still lost more than he weighs, and every time I pick him up now I shall think of this.

Changing diet seems to work well for some people - give paleo a go, or intermittent fasting. Either way lower your sodium intake. You know it's not really very healthy or sensible, but a month of trying to hit a particular target isn't going to do THAT much harm unless you really starve yourself. Good luck.

Love my scales! Especially as they are antique and it's great to have them in daily use. I'm getting more used to what a 110/150/200g of low calorie stuff looks like (salad/steamed/roast without added dressings) so once I hit maintenance I'll maybe not bother with those.

LOL

Well if I average it out I've lost 3.25lb per month (counting all of October even though we're only part way through). However it's been very far from linear - 14lb in the first month and the rest in erratic drops (and sometimes gains) here and there since. I don't help myself through being inconsistent, TBH - but…

I've been thinking that in my real life I have a higher proportion of male friends - maybe 30% ish meno to women and including gay of both genders, so my MFP profile isn't quite in keeping with that. But I suppose it's a rather limited form of contact. I'm immensely grateful for all my MFP friends - but of any chaps out…

"strength training" under cardio on your exercise diary? Without an HRM it's difficult I know, but that's what I use for weight lifting at the gym. Well done for doing it!

Roast mushrooms, peeled garlic cloves, and peeled and roughly chopped onions slowly together, having first coated them in a little olive oil. Melt reduced fat cream cheese in a pan, chop the veg finely and add chopped herbs of your choice (or of course put it all in a blender and heat through).

Are you on a low carb diet? Years ago I did Atkins, and I didn't get muscle soreness wwhile I was on it.

This is one of my faves, although I vary it quite a bit, by using beans instead of potatoes and adding extra green leafy veg (kale or spinach) for the last 10 mins. http://www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/4531/chicken-fennel-and-tomato-ragout-

Loads - at least 2 litres a day, often nearer 4 and sometimes nearer 6. I only drink what I want to - and that's how thirsty I am, I don't struggle with it

Oatcakes. With tons of cheese. Which is why I don't make them anymore :(
-
Diced and mixed with cooked cauliflower - I've just had more or less this for lunch! I stirred in half fat creme fraiche and sprinkled some grated gruyere on top before baking for 20 mins. Easy, tasty, and not too unhealthy.

Check out ethnic stores - get big bags of rice and beans. Find a farmer's market for vegetables. If you eat any meat - look for cheap cuts like chicken thighs or shin of beef, or cheap white fish like dabs etc.

Can't understand what's wrong with it - this is a totally mad thread. OMG women have NIPPLES?!? For feeding BABIES?!? Why have we never been told?
-
Clean laundered sheets - I can relate to that one! When I win the lottery, my luxuries are going to be fresh (ironed) linen on my bed every day (crucially laundered, ironed, and put on the bed by someone else), and fresh flowers.

<I'm currently fostering this one, who is a Podenco resued from Spain. She was abandoned with her borther in a cemetery and left to starve
