@Paulie; did you see there was someone on the threads earlier saying they were researching "clusters" of autoimmune diseases? They might be interested to hear from you.. I know it can be very debilitating and painful... amazing to hear people's stories. I've mainly got joint pains, headaches, sleep disturbance and…

I had a look through... on the days when you've logged your food, your are often way under goal calories, which won't help! There are hardly any vegetables, and not enough protein. Try to have three proper meals a day (I'm bad about eating breakfast too - but I don't really think it matters much what time you eat). Base…

Seconded! Help please!

What size packet of instant oatmeal? I'm in the UK and the brands are probably different, an idea of weight would help...

They are great in chinese stir frys. All you do is quarter them, then slice them across very thickly, scrape off the seeds and watery bits. They will absorb flavour and will stand a surprising amount of cooking time - I add them in for about the last 5 mins with whatever else I'm cooking

In that situation I would feel rather sad for the things that had gone wrong between us. I'd say hello, and how are you, and if s/he hadn't met the new partner before I'd do a brief introduction, but with the body language indication that we're on a walk and want to get on with it. Can't see why anyone needs score some…

Yeah - pretty strange... good luck with your adjustment from Europe, LOL. Staying put, myslef.

There's a category for "hiking". That's probably close enough. All the MFP categories are inevitably a bit vague, the only way to get the calories fairly accurate is to invest in HRM, so I'm told. Enjoy your walk!

I count everything - for me it's about my overall health and my nutrition, not just the calories. The only thing I don't count is water, as I've always drunk more than MFP recommends so it's not an issue for me. Maybe if I reach maintenance and good health, I'd be less particular, in which case I'd do as others have…

Losing your period may not be weight related at all, it could be all sorts of other things, including just a random blip - I didn't have regular periods till I was in my early 20s! But you need to get checked out to rule out possible medical problems. I think you have to be grown up - I KNOW it's hard - and say calmly that…

I'm not sure why you are eating so much low fat dairy? It's high in sodium, processed, and you're having trouble getting anywhere near your calories. I'd go with using wholefat products, getting your protein up and your sodium down. Try for lean meats and fish rather than pizzas, pepperoni, turkey bacon, and get at least…

I should think you are carrying quite a bit of fat in those curves, TBH. But BMI isn't much more than a general guide - maybe you'd do better to concentrate on toning and getting fit and healthy if you're more or less happy with yourself otherwise.

Boil pasta of your choice until just tender (8 mins or so). Toss with half fat creme fraiche, herbs, black pepper and a little dijon mustard. Put in an oven proof dish. Sprinkle the top with parmesan (mixed up with breadcrumbs if you happen to have some), and bake for about 20 mins, until browned. Enjoy - I love it with a…

I've heard hyperbolic chicken is the only reliable source of protein.

hodeho Harry.... yes of course we have the most responsible press

I'll just go and eat 12 kilo of magarine and a kilo of salt then everyday for a few months. My body will deal with with it just... fine

Good for a laugh, which I presume is what it's for

In the UK it's called MRM (mechanically recovered meat) and yes it's pretty gross and I wouldn't eat anything that contained "pink slime" - Jamie Oliver's good on the subject if you want more viewing material. However, I have to say I hate the trend to eat only white chicken breast meat. I'm not vegetarian, but I do care…

They're all on your full report anyway, and you can look back over different reporting periods to see if there are any persistent unders or overs - it depends what your main aims and concerns are. My top four are calories (maximum goal), fibre, protein, calcium (minimum goals so aiming for numbers a little in the red). I…

I'd monitor your iodine and selenium intake and make sure you are getting adequate amounts of both, they're helpful with thyroid conditions

I've got my protein and fibre set much higher than MFP defaults. As always, nothing too extreme but as long as you're on your calorie target and eating good food I should think it's a good thing.

Further ferret info, for the curious.... http://www.wesjones.com/ferret.htm I once owned ferrets, but was never tempted by the sport myself, lol

Something savoury like a salad of pasta with roasted vegetables and pesto? Or if it has to be baked just google for healthier cake/cookie recipes. My local deli does amazing cupcakes in carrot & ginger or chocolate & beetroot which taste very rich and indulgent but are really pretty healthy, and because they are small it…

2,500 is the general maximum health recommendation. You need some in your diet, but on avaerage you shouldn't be exceeeding this and you won't be unless you're eating a lot of processed food. Might be a bit of a wake-up call to review what you are eating, maybe - but it depends what your aims are. If you are only looking…

Edamame, anything made with lentils, anything made with quinoa. It's possible to find ready made snacks in health food stores, or if it's possible you could premake things yourself... And of course lean meat and fish, unless you're vegetarian. It's easy to throw together a bowl of pretty good stuff with these and some…

Any chance of getting that recipe? :flowerforyou: Sounds lovely! I go for chicken noodle or hot and sour soup, and I always want rice. I also grew up believing that you don't feed a fever, so if I'm burning up and don't want to eat, I don't.

I'm quite stuck and wondering whether the anti-depressants are part of the problem. It's a tough call - when I feel better I'm more motivated to look after myself so I actually eat more regularly and better quality. I'm considering changing to Prozac - I have tried it before but it made me very anxious at a time when I was…

Lentils - good for both protein and fibre
