I meant to ask is 1200 calories the average that everyone is told to loose weight? Thats what was recomended to me if I stick to it I loose 2-4 lbs a week. 1200 calories does not seem to go very far but I am deffinately learning to eat more lower calorie foods to tie me over,. Come the weekend I eat more then recommended…

I understand what your saying, some studies have showed that yes you burn your calories when consuming 5-6 small meals. But with one meal your body dipps into its fat reserves and starts burning your fat stores at a faster pace.

Thanks for your opinion, I find I'm getting frustrated trying to loose weight. I remember the one meal a day was the one thing that worked well for me. I think you have to continue once you start because you will gain the weight back once you stop. I get bad cravings when I eat during the day and moody. But never get…

This is probably going to upset someone by asking this but does anyone ever do intermittent fasting or one meal a day. If you are consuming your recommended calories and it is all healthy food does it really matter when you eat. There has been lots of studies that show your body will not go into starvation mode unless you…

mysyac2, I also thought if I increased calories as I reached my goal weight I would start to gain weight. Although it makes sence you would eat a bit more to stop loosing. When you think of it there must be a really fine line between the two that is different for everyone. Sounds like alot of juggling. Maybe thats why…

I was just curious how many people follow a 3 sm meal =1200 calories a day diet. If so how long have you been doing it for. Has it worked well to loose weight? Could you follow this as a life change? Apparently it's healthy to live on a calorie restrickted diet but I'm not sure how many calories.

When I eat one meal I am never hungry and I never have cravings I am also very happy and relaxed tones of energy. When I eat more small meals I am always hungry, whicked cravings, cranky and tired. The exact opposite of whats expected. My doctor said it doesn't really matter when I eat. But alot of people seem to be so…

I should mention I have beem trying to eat small healthy meals for a long time. I just can not seem to stay in control that way. I could very easily consume 4200 calories in a day and not feel full. That might be why I feel more satisfied with one large meal then 5 small meals.

I find it easier to yes only eat one meal at supper. During the day get calories from coffee, milk or vegetable juices. My one meal consists of lots of vegetables, meat and either a potato, rice or small pasta. This is much easier for me to stay in controll then eating 5-6 small meals.

I was wanting to loose 8lbs befor may 5th when I go on holidays. It was recommended that I consume 1200 calories a day plus 45 min exercise. My problem is that the only way I can stay within my alloted calories would be if I was to eat one meal a day, some calories would come from coffee, milk,j vegetable juice during the…

It was recommended for me to reach my goals, to stick to a 1200 calorie diet. Three or more small meals makes me hungry and cranky. I find it easiest to eat one meal a day. But I'm not sure if this is something I could maintain 365 days a year. So now I'm thinking of two 600 calorie balanced healthy meals. I would rather…

I have tried eating more smaller meals a day, but it has never worked after years of trying. The easiest way for me to stay within my alloted calories is with one meal a day. I know this may be hard to maintain for good, so I was thinking of trying two meals. Generally more meals just gets me cranky , tired and hungrier.…

I just joined this forum, I totally agree with this statement. I was always trying to eat around my craving and ended up eating alot more then I would have if I just chose to have just a bite or two of the craving. It's easier to indulge a little just stay within your daily aloted calories, most times focus on the healthy.
