  • Are you able to do the plank moves. I thought I was going to die doing a plank tricep extension and we have to do a plank row in lean 2. I have to admit that this phase intimidates me a little. How are you doing with it?

  • So jealous I sure hope my arms, shoulders and stomach look like yours do soon.
  • Holy wow!! So I am a few days behind and just started the lean phase today and it completely kicked my butt. I though you well I ended the push phase pretty heavy I can take what ever the lean phase can throw at me. I am currently sitting on my couch waiting for my arms to stop quivering. And I wasn't even able to go…

  • From personal experience I can that for the first month or so of lifting and any time right after a hard lifting session your muscles retain water and glycogen for muscle repair this does make your muscle bigger for about 24 hours or so. My best advice is to not weigh or measure yourself until you are able to go two full…
  • Did you buy the whole deluxe set? I have been thinking about getting it. Is it worth getting?

  • I use a hand held one and of course it isn't perfect but I also put my measurements into fat2fit http://www.fat2fitradio.com/tools/cbbf/ this is the covert baily calculator and is more accurate for women. I do believe it was like 2-3% lower than the calibers though. I think the best thing to do is average out a couple…
  • High intensity interval training. Which means you work really hard to get your heart rate into the "zone" for 60-90 seconds then bring it back down for 2 minutes while still moving and then do it again for x amount of minutes.
  • I do this as well most mornings is old fashioned oats, brown sugar, 1/2 tbsp of butter, 1/2 scoop vanilla protien and 1/4 cup milk with a piece of whole wheat toast and coffee so yummy and 436 calories. Pretty balanced as well 18gr. fat, 19gr protien, 8 fiber and 54 carbs. So yummy
  • The best advice is stop eating low fat or no fat foods first off most of them are overly processed to get them that way and second if they take out the fat or sugar they replace it with something unhealthy. Cook with olive oil, greek yogurt, bread, butter, etc.. My diary is open other than a few days this last week I have…
  • Because we hear everyone say eat less, and all the diets out there make us eat less or make us take something out of our diet. We are here to hold your hand. Come back and vent as often as you need.
  • Just imagine how miserable she has to be. She may pretend that she isn't but she is. Plus like Anita said when you reach your goal you will have enjoyed your journey and she probably will have gained everything she lost back already.
  • This except I am actually only eating at a 5% cut since I don't need to lose any weight and the muscles are burning the fat away. I have been lifting 3x a week with a cardio hiit type work out once a week with some ab work on strength days and I am very happy with my current results. If you looked at my pics you see where…
  • Nothing special I eat between 1800 and 1900 calories, do my best to reach my macronutrients (fail sometimes), strength train 3x a week and a cardio day once maybe twice a week depending on how I am feeling. This is all I did. The part that will amaze you the most is I actually gained two pounds between the first pic and…
  • Today is 60 days that I started lifting and eating more here are my measurements so far. • I eat between 1800-1900 and only work out 4 days a week 3 hard lifting days and one cardio day. But yes you are right you have to consider the non-exercise activity you do daily as well.
  • Great attitude!!. The great thing is as long as you warm up good after just a few minutes into your work out the pain disappears. Until the next day. LOL Usually though the worst of it only lasts the first week after that you might be achy but not so sore you don't want to move. I actually look forward to the day after my…
  • Once you get your workout routine back I would move up to the moderately active level. Other than that good luck and enjoy the freedom.
  • I just love your sense of humor. You make me smile almost daily  :flowerforyou:
  • To answer your first question the reason Lucia and Kiki say to use the same number every day is so that your body begins to depend on you for consistency. So many people have eaten so little and binged once a week that their body doesn't know what to expect. The second question is to up your weights. I am not sure how many…
  • Who told you to go with light activity? I am doing 3 strength days and one cardio day and was told to go with moderate. I recommend moderate for anyone doing heavy lifting and a cardio day. Remember we are more active then we realize. With walking around cleaning, grocery shopping, etc.
  • I'm starting the Lean phase on Saturday. I have loved this program so far.
  • So did you continue to use the same weights from Push or do you need to go back down in weights for the Lean phase?
in Workouts Comment by Cclancaster May 2012
  • The reason so we say to net your BMR is because not everyone uses the correct activity multiplier so in many regards they will use the wrong multiplier take a 20% reduction of that and then burn calories until they are now not getting enough fuel to even sustain their normal body needs. Here is an example: I work out 6…
  • Officially done with the Push circuit. I will do a couple of cardio days and then take my pics and measurements this on Friday, and start the lean phase on Saturday. I am so excited. I ended the Push phase using only 15, 20, 25 and 30lb DBs I am so proud of myself.

  • I am just about to begin the third (lean) phase and I just love it. I have gone from barely being able to use the 3, 5 and 8lbs DBs to using 15, 20, 25, 30 lbs DBs have lost quite a bit of inches and can tell you more after this weekend which is when I will do pics and measurements.
  • Same here my numbers I did a month ago from the sticky said 2000 and Scooby says 1847 which is only a 10% reduction in calories.
  • Sounds about right to me. I do try to fit in an hour or so of reading or tv on my rest days though but these things relax me. This summer there will be less conventional rest days for me since the kids will be home for summer we will do a lot of swimming, gardening, biking, walking and other outdoor things so that they…
  • I'm doing Chalean Extreme and love it.
  • This is awesome so happy for you. For me eating more has gotten rid of my fatigue, depression, and over all yucky feeling. So even though I haven't lost weight ( I have lost inches) I feel great and that is enough for me.
