  • I don't know if it's been mentioned yet but Chocolate Covered Katie's blog has a lot of healthier dessert ideas and many single serving type deals. The chocolate mug cake is enjoyed by my picky boyfriend quite often.
  • Every time I order chinese I just get steamed mixed vegetables (and either chicken or shrimp, if you want meat) without sauce. They will send the sauce on the side too and you can determine how much you put on.
  • I LOVE roasted vegetables. It shows with my electric bill each month. Try brussel sprouts with a marinade of balsamic vinegar, olive oil, stone ground mustard, and maple syrup. It's so many amazing flavors but they meld together perfectly. Green beans and asparagus are great roasted with balsamic vinegar too. And tomatoes.…
  • Honestly, I've found that having a smoothie every morning has really helped curb my sweet tooth. I no longer am going through my day craving something sweet because I had it first thing in the morning. And it was good for me. I also have little peppermints and gum with me at work if i want something sweet, mint is really…
  • Oh, I forgot to mention, I don't log food anymore. I've been on here for well over a year now and know the calorie count of things. I'm just stubborn and over eat regardless because that's what I've grown accustomed too. And I wear a heart rate monitor so all my gym calcs are accurate.
  • I have been having the same problem for many months! Now it's gotten really bad to where before I was just eating too much healthy stuff, and now I just want processed crap. It definitely has a lot to do with it being a habit. You feel weird if you don't do something that became a routine. You'd feel jittery if you…
  • I've gained about the same about of weight and am excited to get back down to my goal again. It's hard to break the habits I've made though. I'll help you stay motivated as much as possible!
  • I've recently went from having my diary public to closing it in order to keep track of some health issues I'm dealing with that I would rather not have strangers in the internet world not know about.
  • Cinnamon! And vanilla extract! And stevia or another sweetener alternative. All work great.
  • I used to love the taste of it plain then I realized it wasn't a real fix for PB! So instead of eating the full fat version all of the time, I mix other flavors into my PB2. I mix some cocoa powder (add more liquid) or some cinnamon and agave or honey. It is delicious that way and you can make any combination that you want.
  • I made a homemade BBQ sauce one evening and mixed it in with some canned lentils. A slightly different twist on baked beans!
  • http://www.myrecipes.com/recipe/braised-leeks-mushrooms-10000000222296/ ^ Hands down the most amazing leeks recipe I have ever tasted. I used vegetable broth instead, to make it vegetarian but you cannot go wrong with this. The flavor is so rich and absolutely superb. Andd this is the second best leek recipe I've ever had:…
  • Hi there! I've eaten mainly vegetarian for over a year now and have recently switched over to a strict vegetarian, at times vegan, diet. I almost always cook my own food and love trying new recipes so feel free to add :)
  • I use them in my oatmeal to bulk it up while using less oats. I also mix them into my yogurt the night before. yogurt + almond milk + chia seeds makes a great consistency too! It still freaks me out knowing that they are from chia pets and I eat them, though.
  • I don't buy them, sadly. I just cleared out my food supply of anything I eat without control. Cottage cheese, frozen yogurt/ice cream, nuts, cereal, jars of peanut butter, big bags of pretzels, etc. I threw them away and have decided to buy individual portions. I also think I may buy cereal and pre bag it into proper…
  • Thank goodness I'm not the only one! I love carrots but they just give me all sorts of indigestion. Which is weird considering they are a very basic food. My mother also suggested that if it were baby carrots in a bag to possibly wash them first. Or buy organic. Who knows.
  • WOW. that is an amazing transformation. You look extremely beautiful-naturally, congratulations on losing that much weight!
  • Hi there! I just wanted to let you know that the 30 Day Shred would probably be great for you! I do it regularly and the first day is always the hardest but it's actually not too hard to accomplish. 20 minutes is nothing for a work out, time wise, and it uses light weights and simple moves like jumping jacks and crunches.…
  • I loveeee foodgawker. I recommend it to everyone who asks me for recipes. i just go to that site and drool for hours.
  • That's a GREAT idea. Thank you. I don't know of any specific running stores in my area, though.
  • I tend to get bored with running too which causes my pace to slow or me to feel less motivated as a result. I started running outside instead of on a treadmill, and I try to switch up my running path. The change in scenery really helps. Also maybe run intervals. Run 2 minutes walk 1, or some variation. It adds up to a lot…
  • try working your arms along with your legs. do some exercises with hand weights while you bike, biking alone and strength training alone tend to not burn as many calories because they aren't high impact, so combining the two gets your heart rate higher and increases your calorie burn. Or so Jillian Michaels tells me every…
  • I wear a heart rate monitor while i do the 30 day shred and surprisingly don't burn as many calories as I expected. I am 110 pounds and burn anywhere from 90-130 calories on level one and 150-160 calories doing level two. The more you weigh the more calories you burn (as long as you're really trying!) is a general rule of…
  • How a mans jeans fit (must be fairly tight with a slight sag in the tush area), guys with great hairstyles (most just don't care or put effort into that), men with thin legs, calve tattoos…lots of leg things with me apparently haha Oh and I love a guy that looks fairly plain but when you start talking to him you realize he…
  • Vegetarian Moussaka: http://www.culinaryadventuresinthekitchen.com/2012/02/08/785/ It's seriously amazing, my father even ate it and loved it and he never eats my "healthy" food. and this one is great too Eggplant and Tomato Chutney: http://cooking-books.blogspot.com/2011/03/healthy-and-easy-baked-eggplant-with.html It's…
  • Lay them out on a tray (don't wash them, leave them unwashed until future use), pop it in your freezer for a day or so, then put them in bags in the freezer and save for later use.
  • Not sure that I'm emo at heart so much as a girl with awesome taste in music. Brand New, Elliot Smith, Morrissey, The Smiths, Taking Back Sunday, Dashboard, City and Colour, Bright Eyes, Devendra Banhart, Tegan and Sara, M. Ward…. yes yes yes!
  • MFP has plenty of variations of different foods in the database. if she is making meatloaf, for example, just type that food in and look at the nutritional data shown. I always go with whichever has the higher calories to be on the safe side. Also I agree with the above poster, just make wise eating decisions. Have a salad…
  • I'm having the same issue myself. I say talk to him and tell him how you feel. He most likely is just so happy and in that blissful relationship mindset that he doesn't even realize that he is blowing you off and that it may bother you. Plus most men are rather daft (no offense) so you all need things laid out for you very…
  • Ohh boy, first concert was the All American Rejects I do believe? I was about 15. Last concert was actually the Firefly Music Festival. I saw Death Cab for Cutie, The Wallflowers, the Killers, The Black Keys, Jack White, The Head and the Heart, Ra Ra Riot, Cake, The Flaming Lips, Bassnectar…and more. It was amazing.
