Does P2B taste like natural peanut butter (no sugar), or regular peanut butter?

    Natural.

It tastes like peanuts, honestly. There's not much to it besides that.

    I love that stuff.

I just got some in the mail this week but haven't tried it yet. Maybe I'll have some peanut butter oatmeal tomorrow and try it!

It tastes like natural peanut butter. It does not have added sugar. I LOVE it! I mix it with a little almond milk if i want to make it into peanut butter or I use the powder mixed into other foods like Greek yogurt, protein shakes, oatmeal, etc.

I tried it and did not like it. It does have a peanutty taste but I am a PB addict and it just wasn't for me. I got the regular kind & the chocolate and I threw them both away after trying several different things.

Peanuts with water stirred in, and not enough salt.

Just like natural PB with less salt though. I put it in my oatmeal and its really good mixed in vanilla greek yogurt.

I just made some of this overnight oatmeal with it yesterday http://www.theyummylife.com/recipes/223/Banana+Peanut+Butter+Refrigerator+Oatmeal

To me, it tastes like a sad, sorry, watered-down version of peanut butter. I won't say it tasted bad, but when I want peanut butter, I want peanut butter. It wasn't a great sub.
  • I love it! I mix it per directions for peanut butter use and when I want a yummy smoothie, I mix it in with my chocolate smoothie mix and I have an Reese's PB Cup smoothie!

I find that the PB2 chocolate tastes a little like Nutella!

I thought so at first too. Then I used a little less water and it came out the same consistency of smooth peanut butter. Much closer and good! IMHO..

I'm actually really curious about this! How much lower is the calorie count from regular PB?

Eh. I'll stick to the real thing. I quite like it and it fits my calories fine. I eat a lot of it, too.

1 tablespoon is 23 calories (normal serving size is 2 tablespoons but I only use 1 when mixing in things)

Well, I've had natural PB and hated it. I might as well have bought a bag of unsalted peanuts, chewed them up, and spit them on my toast. I'll stop my search for P2B and keep eating my Kraft whipped.

    Thanks to all. :flowerforyou:

    Kraft Whipped Peanut Butter Ingredients

    Selected Roasted Peanuts
    Soybean Oil
    Sugar
    Corn Dextrin
    Hydrogenated vegetable oil
    Salt
    Fancy Molasses

I could see how that would be, ummm...yummy?

Personally, I eat regular peanut butter when I can fit it into my calories/macros, and I eat PB2 every single other day of the week. Seriously, I eat PB2 pretty much every day, I buy the stuff by the case of 1lb bags because I go through so much of it. If you think it's too thin, add less water. Too thick, add more. It's delicious and super versatile. I've added extra water to make it into quick and easy sauces. Just some warm water, maybe a pinch of cinnamon and you've got instant dessert or dipping sauce. Or add a variety of savory spices, pour over chicken breast and cook, and you've got a poor-man's peanut sauce.

I've also baked with it, made frosting with it, made cupcake fillings with it, added it to smoothies and more. I think it's pretty much one for the best products out there for health conscious peanut butter lovers.

^^^Agreed. I have a small cupcake business and when I make them for family/friends, I use PB2 if there's peanut butter in the recipe. Not one person has ever noticed.

I don't like to use it as peanut butter. It's great to flavor a protein shake though.
  • P2B? I take it this is a powdered type peanut butter? What is it made of?

LOVE it!! I shlepped back a billion bottles of it when coming back home from the States haha
  • I used to love the taste of it plain then I realized it wasn't a real fix for PB! So instead of eating the full fat version all of the time, I mix other flavors into my PB2. I mix some cocoa powder (add more liquid) or some cinnamon and agave or honey. It is delicious that way and you can make any combination that you want.
