PB2 is made of peanuts. They've basically just been pulverized into a fine powder, no oil either.

It tastes good. I was happy to find it. I had given up on peanut butter there for a while, too many calories and I love PB too much!

The chocolate PB2 is not very 'chocolate-y' in my opinion, but it still tastes good.

*edit. I have mixed in about 1/4 teaspoon of cinnamon into the PB2. OMG delicious! I love to dip apples in it.

The only thing better than PB2 is PB2 Chocolate. Can't beat it for the macros.

ok it does not taste like regular peanut butter with all the fat....just being honest. I love the pb2. I have a high cholesterol problem and what I've done it found things that I can live with and work with and still enjoy food. Pb2 is one of those items. I use it in alot of things. I make a smoothie with it, put it in oats, will smash a half of a banana and put it with pb2 and eat it on toast. The smoothie is the best for me. It's filling and the way I make it . It's like having a milkshake. 1cup of unsweetened pure silk milk vanilla flavor, add 2 T. of pb2, 1 teaspoon of vanilla, a teaspoon of instant coffee ( I use decaf) a sweetener and then add ice and put all in the blender. The more ice you work into it make it thicker. Enjoy Everyone taste is different. Don't just say I don't like it and won't try it. The calorie difference and fat difference is well worth it for me. Just my 2 cents worth.

    Kraft Whipped Peanut Butter Ingredients

    Selected Roasted Peanuts
    Soybean Oil
    Sugar
    Corn Dextrin
    Hydrogenated vegetable oil
    Salt
    Fancy Molasses

I could see how that would be, ummm...yummy?

Personally, I eat regular peanut butter when I can fit it into my calories/macros, and I eat PB2 every single other day of the week. Seriously, I eat PB2 pretty much every day, I buy the stuff by the case of 1lb bags because I go through so much of it. If you think it's too thin, add less water. Too thick, add more. It's delicious and super versatile. I've added extra water to make it into quick and easy sauces. Just some warm water, maybe a pinch of cinnamon and you've got instant dessert or dipping sauce. Or add a variety of savory spices, pour over chicken breast and cook, and you've got a poor-man's peanut sauce.

I've also baked with it, made frosting with it, made cupcake fillings with it, added it to smoothies and more. I think it's pretty much one for the best products out there for health conscious peanut butter lovers.

Thanks for the ideas! I've actually never mixed it as peanut butter, I just add the powder to shakes/smoothies for a nice peanut butter flavor without all the fat and calories. I do still however love Natural Jif and still eat it on ocassion especially if I need to bump up my cals a bit.
  • sounds like a great alternative!!! Now can you tell me where to get this lol

Some health food stores carry it, or the maker (bell plantation) or Amazon.

Not sure if it's still active, but there is a coupon code PB2ROCKS. Again, not sure if that code works or not. I am not signed up at their site to try it.
  • Like natural peanut butter. I've found to get the most peanut butter consistency and regular taste I add a bit of honey. It gives it that slight sweetness and less runny consistency and for not that many added calories. After I finish this bottle, I won't but it again. I'd rather have 1 tbs of honest to goodness peanut or other nut butter once in a while than pb2. it's just not for me.
