My obsession with FRU FRU coffees from Starbucks, Dunkin and everywhere else....has turned into a loathing. I used to skip the whipped topping and think I was ok... I mean it is just mocha, or caramel, or whatever... with a little cream and sugar, RIGHT??? I now drink the skinnier versions of those items.. Like a black…

I just traveled for the last five days and if I am in the same place two or more days, I will go to grocery store and buy prepared salad in a bag, a lemon and some vinegar and oil and make my own dressing.. I carry a rubbermaid container to shake my salad. I always have fresh fruit in the car, and I pop popcorn in my air…

I do around 1200 a day and have been for months. Take a look at my diary if you want ideas. I am rarely hungry as I eat almost every two hours, and I control urges with portions... If I want something I will have it,, but a taste instead of a large bowl. I always drink at least eight ounces of water whenever I think I am…

Proud of you on both counts!

As a MFP member, CONGRATS! As a Military mom. THANK YOU!

I eat the same thing for breakfast, morning snack and lunch everyday.. with a few minor variations. I log that all in the morning.. Dinner is the creation of my chef husband, so it is generally portion size driven, as he can eat whatever he wants.......... Take a peek at my diary if you need further explanation.

Some phone apps have a bar code reader so you can scan the barcode on the back of the packaging and plug in the serving size, then it will calculate the macros for you. How do you log your breakfast and dinner? Lunch is generally the same....

Its all about the calories. If you eat too many calories- you will gain weight. If you eat the right amount of calories- you will maintain your weight. If you eat too few calories- you will lose weight. Does not matter when you eat them...... Track you calories through out the day, and eat based on settings in MFP profile.

I am set on sedentary, I am only at 1200-1300 for 1lb loss per week, I will usually eat 80% of my exercise calories back. (just in case I over estimated exercise or underestimated food!)

Processed foods have more sodium than real foods. Also the higher carb, low protein do not keep you full for long, so there is the tendency to over indulge. I find that if I can eat fresh foods 80% of the time, my weight loss is more successful... than if I treat every calorie the same. And always, always keep your water…

My favorite fill me up, go to snack is air popped popcorn.... mist with water or Pam and use butter flavored buds... or spices.... lots a fiber too......

It does help you lose weight. Your wallet is lighter.

Some people carry their weight better than others. I have never looked like I weighed as much as I really did because I am tall, and I knew the tricks to dressing my person etc. Now that I have lost 40 lbs. People still guess me lighter than I am. I am okay with it... Browse mybodygallery.com and plug in numbers. same…

You have to find what works for you. Some people are too obsessed with the scale and should not weigh more than once a week. Some people use it as a tool, and not a bible.... I weigh every day, in morning naked after I pee. I record it if it is the same (within 1/2 lb.) two days in a row.. use higher number. But I also use…

^^Agreed^^ I think the OP just needed to know that it is possible. We all were new once, and we all thought we were doing the right stuff, but maybe we just needed for those who had more experience to TEACH us what we needed to know, not berate and belittle... When we do that, we cause the person to immediately go to the…

I am pretty good at reining myself in. I always log before I eat, so I can see what damage it will do, instead of what damage it did! Keeps me on my toes.

I was in Staffing for twenty years. Worked my way up from Receptionist to Sales to Regional Manager, but I was tired of the travel so I went into consulting for awhile, then I decided to go and work for corporate America... so I talked myself into an IT position at a large manufacturer, and now I am an IT Administrator who…

Listen to your body. Start with 1/2 mile at a comfortable pace. When you can consistently accomplish that every other day. Lengthen that to 3/4 mile, then a mile.. etc etc. when you get to 5K.. or just over 3 miles, then move up your pace a bit. Rest, hydrate well and wear the proper shoes...

At my heaviest, I was wearing a size 18, but could wear some 16 pants depending on cut. When I lost my first twenty pounds, those 18's and 16's sat at my hip or fell off. With the next 20 lbs, I dropped from 14's, to 12's and some 10's fit now. but that is because most of the weight came off waist, hips and thighs...…

Agreed! as an Army and Marine mom, I am grateful more than most will ever know, when someone shows gratitude towards all our sons and daughters.

I have mine set to sedentary. And I have my weight loss set to 1 lb per week. So while I log most of my energy expenditure, I rarely eat those calories back. and just hope it adds a little to my weight loss in the long run.
