  • You. You clip your nails at work and other pubic place. Stop. Sure, I can drop trou and take a dump anywhere I want and people will ultimately understand, cause everyone does it. But, you know, I don't do that. You, you don't clip your nails at work. Got it? Good.
  • It is only on the app....I don't think it can be done on the webpage.
  • This is really a backwards way of doing it, but you can enter your profile: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/user/scharpy10/profile/scharpy10 Then swap out their username for yours i.e. ...../user/mfpchris/profile/mfpchris Then at their profile click the "add as friend" button. @scharpy10
  • A disclaimer, it's all personal, but I believe the common belief is that "fat" is what makes us feel more satiated. You wrote "protein." Of course they all do, and each contributes, but increasing your ratio to include more fats might be a good experiment. @DebLaBounty wrote about cheese, nuts, etc. Give yourself…
  • It is statistics. A 99% confidence interval. There is a 99% chance that an optimally healthy weight for you is within that range.
  • @aeloine Funny, I wrote this one my newsfeed yesterday "I'm down close to 50 lbs. (24 kg, 5 stone.) It has been pretty steady since I started back on MFP in March. All of April, May, June, July, August, September, and October nobody said a word to me. All of a sudden people are coming up left and right and saying 'you lost…
  • I think anything other than using grams in the food diary is silly. I think getting a close to accurate daily accounting of ones food intake in MFP is very hard, and nearly all the diaries I read are off by hundreds of calories.
  • So that's where you are wrong this IS about......no I'm kidding, I accidentally put it in the wrong category. A goof.
  • This is great. After a loss and regain, this time around I came into it thinking explicitly about "maintenance first!!!" like you folks. At 54, three times in my life I have hit 150 lbs. All three times felt great and I was very active/athletic. Hitting my all-time high of 246.3 recently I set my goal to lose 100 lbs.…
  • With MFP it is good to set up a countdown ticker on your profile. You enter starting weight in MFP 'profile' (whatever your first weighin on your new Withings reads) Set a goal. Probably better to begin with a mini-goal rather than a lifetime goal to get going. Say SW:225 GW:215, click the I want to lose 1.0/week, identify…
  • 1) Wow, big feet...but there you go 12.8 x 12.8 2) Default is private, only the single user can see their profile. It is possible to share profiles, if you want to be visible to others. But this is anyone, not just the people who use your scale....i.e. you could share it with me. 3) Bone simple, one time only. Though I too…
  • Thanks for the reply Tacklewasher. Noted: you don't do the friend thing. I have been able to "friend" four other people with scales that sync here to MFP, and we all have made great progress together. I'm think my progress will be improved (and hopefully others) if I can identify a few other scale auto-sync'er people here.…
  • Hello, anyone recently get a new Withings Wi-Fi scale? I really like having it be plain simple to have my scale sync here to MFP. Anyone else using the Sync..... Oh yeah, Withings is now Nokia. Same same.

  • I dropped 80 in MFP in 2011, then left and gained 85 back. Fast forward to this year and here trying again. I'm down about 50 so far. I am trying to be mechanistic and regular and just eat the right calories daily to lose the 85. I am trying to just get through the weight loss part, because I know the truly…
  • Took my two years to start. Around Feb 2017. I'm down 50 lbs since then, and 50 lbs to go. On track for June of 18, about 14 months total.
  • Sunday 1st Oct 2017 SW: 246.3 lbs (Feb 27, 2017) GW: 146.3 lbs LW: 197.0 lbs CW: 197.2 lbs OL: +0.2 lbs
  • My plan is to mindlessly lose a set number of pounds, it'll put me somewhere in the 'healthy' BMI range. Once there, I'll fanatically maintain the number for several month, up to a year. At that point, I'll reevaluate and pinpoint an actual goal target weight. My thinking was Which will be more accurate, coming up with a…
  • Hey, sorry for the delayed response. I have acquired for MFP friends who have these Withing Wi-Fi scales, and along with me we see each others progress in real time....I have become a huge advocate. I find this daily scale sync transforms MFP into a genuine peer supported environment. I've always heard that Weight Watchers…
  • Hey, @tinkerbellang83 I was a fired up group leader back in 2011 during my first weight loss. This challenge was a lot of work and a lot of fun. Now I'm trying to figure out how to get on your "weekly weigh-in" routine. The graphic-iness and group-iness all make it motivating and helpful

  • I used "The Run Formula" couch to marathon: http://www.therunformula.com/free-marathon-training-plan/
  • Anyone out there willing to speak up? There are three of us now, it's really pretty engaging having our numbers pop up.
  • I'm preparing for a 55mile ride at the end of July.
  • Sign up for a small event, get someone else to sign up too. The event will be fun, but preparing for it with your friend is where the magic happens.
  • I have two friends who have "shared" their Withing with me. We can see each others charts and daily numbers. But now this only works on the app, the webpage doesn't offer this view. I really like checking in, now I have to log onto my phone. Oh well, perhaps they are still going to add back this functionality.
  • I have a scale and a Steel HR too....my scale continues to work very well, the Steel HR does have sync issues. Hmm, perhaps it is a thing.
  • Keep'em coming folks...... Do you do "activities" with your Garmin, like swim, bicycle, run, etc. (not only step counts) Do you log your foods in MFP? It is a potent double wammy. I'm wanting to get a handful of folks logging, syncing their Garmins and motivating all of us.
  • possibly related: my FR15 does't have a bike mode. So in GC I edit a bike ride that is sees as a "run" and turn it back into a "bike".... they sync with this and MFP results in double entries. I end up doing a lot of editing and deleting to simply sync a bike ride.
