  • I LOVE LOVE LOVE aaptiv. I saw it in a discussion here and I'm hooked. The app is easy to use,but with a flick of a switch you can download the workouts onto your phone to use for offline. This has been great for outdoor walking and running. The music is great. No more trying to set up playlists and stay motivated. They…
  • The big advantage to a slow cooker is you really don't need to add butter. There is a lot of debate out there about cooking raw meats in a slow cooker, but I do it often. I always test the temp of the meat using a thermometer to make sure it is high enough. My favorite is taking Boneless, skinless chicken breast and…
  • I love the Just Dance. I use it on XBOX 360. I tried the aerobic workouts but am have a problem saving the workouts and using the warm ups. Any help would be appreciated. ClubSilencio- I think the Just Dance are the best on the market. I like the XBOX because of the kinect tracks the movement without having to hold…
  • - Being able to easily fit in the movie theatre seats. I don't even touch the sides. I was so self conscious about it before keeping my arms in tight so I wouldn't bother the person next to me. - easily waking up in the morning and jumping out of bed. No more joint and muscle aches. - Easily fitting into the airplane seats…
  • I discovered that I can't take the fiber enriched foods, like the fiber one cereal, or bran buds. It's stops me up completely. (Dont' mean to TMI). The low carb/Atkins type of diet really throws me for a loop. I no longer eat something because it's Net grams is so low. I am actually on a 40 % carb diet and it seems to be…
  • I had lost 50lbs when I was in my 20's and became uncomfortable with all the male attention I got. At the same time my mom died and my whole family/life fell apart. I gained back the 50 + another 50 and stayed at that weight for 15 years. I now am losing weight completely for my own motivation and have lost 50lbs in a…
  • I had just moved to a new city and asked a co-worker for an OB-GYN referrel. I went to her highly recommended DR for a UTI. After he wrote the prescription he said I needed to make an appointment for an annual exam because we needed to talk about my weight. At 286lbs, did he think I didn't know how heavy I was????? Never…
  • I know that double edged sword well! I know that I feel so much better when I am wearing the right size clothes tight to my body. On those days people compliment me all day long on the weight loss. I feel prouder. However, I don't have enough money to buy new clothes, when the clothes I just bought tight are already loose…
  • This probably isn't for everyone, but I know how to sew and have used that to my advantage. I identified about 10 pairs of work pants that I have taken in. I adjusted them so they were slightly tight. For me, I lost 50lbs, but only went down 2 sizes. I have also identified a few work shirts and taken them in. The ones…
  • Chocoholic- I'm with you. I lost 50 lbs went from a size 22W to an 18/XL. I don't see how she could lose 30 lbs and drop 4 sizes!
  • Aspartame gives me instant migraines. When Aspartame first came on the market, I bought everything with it and was eating it 2 or 3 times a day. That entire month I had a constant migraine with the aura's coming on every day. I now stay completely away from it. Some formulations of it- like Crystal Light- will give me an…
  • The margarita is OK, but as other posters have stated, the Jose Cuervo light margarita is SO-O-O much better. The margarita is light because she used agave nectar as the sweetner. You can make your own just substituting agave nectar or any of the latest no calorie sweetners.
  • SO sorry that you're feeling this way.:embarassed: I once heard a saying: Friends are what God gives us as an apology for family. You are not responsible, nor can you control the way another (your mother) acts or feels! So her being unhappy (cause she is-that's why she lashed out at you so hurtfully) really has nothing to…
  • I prefer the fitbit. It is small enough and mobile enough (put it in pocket, put on waistband,or put on bra strap) that it can be hidden. I really don't like the size of the bodymedia. Sometimes I really don't want anyone asking me about my weight loss journey. Connecting the fitbit with my fitness pal has really helped me…
  • Chooseyou, My heart goes out to you and the strength you really have shown through this thread. Since others have addressed the relationship issues, I only have a few comments from personal experience. Don't let fear of being alone, or having to set out on your own alone be a factor at all in your decision on the…
  • CONGRATULATIONS!!! They look great! What a great job you did. I too am working towards being below the big 200.
  • Panera spinach artichoke souffle and a cup of fruit salad. Calorie heavy but oh my goodness, how freakin' yummy! Oh- So love the Panera souffles..... I had 6 slices of turkey pepperoni and 2 oz cheese. It was a rather rushed morning
  • This subject was just addressed by my dietician. Your body has gone all night without food. When you eat something it kickstarts your metabolism. When you eat breakfast, your metabolism is in gear and using the calories you put in your body. Hunger is a good sign the metabolism is working at burning calories. However, that…
  • I've had one for about a year and I still love it. Mine has gone out twice, but both times fitbit replaced immediately. It doesn't handle being in confined spaces in the plastic holder and sweating all over it. My bad... Recently I have changed the location and have had no problems. I was wearing it on the inside of my…
  • Deja VU! I was just going to post on this same problem! I too have lost a total of 46 lbs, but am getting discouraged because I have barely moved down in pant sizes. I also have a pair of jeans that were tight(size 22), and now, with a belt can be worn and look stylish. As some posters have stated, all the pants in size 22…
  • I thought a few years ago the ADA now records peanut butter as a fat, not a protein. I agree with this assessment & use it accordingly. Like I would never cut up 2 TBLSP of butter and eat it straight, I won't do the same with peanut butter. It has helped me keep it in perspective
