  • My sugar has recently been getting waaay too low. Last night it dipped into the 60s and this was after eating a good meal. My Dr. put me on the Exteneded Release, but I had been on the other kind for years and no problem....I go back to the Dr tomorrow.
  • I've lost 44 lbs....it took me about 4 and a half months. It came off relatively easy, especially after I started taking 1500 mg of Metformin a day. Success with PCOS is possible, I am still losing and I hope to have a baby one day. My biggest thing that is really freaking me out is that my hair is falling out and…
  • Have you tried Metformin?? It is my miracle drug. Without it I CANNOT lose weight. It also helps treat ALL the other symptoms including regulating your cycle. It changed my life.....
  • I also have pcos and metformin is my miracle drug. I take 1500mg a day and without it I CANNOT lose weight, have a normal period or even feel normal at all. I suffer from EVERY symptom of PCOS, so I understand how frusterating and stressful it can be, however with the proper diet, exercise, medication, and education on…

  • Low carb is always the best lifestyle for PCOS with or without meds. Hard for me to stick to, I'd just rather eat what I want and count calories.....I hate PCOS it makes everything so much more difficult
  • Do you mix the filling into the batter??? Or just layer it on top? thanks in advance.
  • Update: I have been on metformin for a week now and I feel great. I haven't had any side effects at all, but I up my dosage next week. I have already lost 4 lbs. just this week. Before I started taking it, I had been stuck for 3 weeks with no loss. I hope this helps :))
  • I just started back on it 3 days ago and I already feel better. I hope it helps me lose weight, bc I have been stuck for awhile now. Good luck to you.
  • Being insulin resistant is being insulin resistant. I do not agree with your doctor, I have had too many doctors that are pro metformin....sorry.
  • Metformin is awesome. 1. helps you lose weight. 2. helps with fertility. 3. helps regulate your cycles. 4. helps cut out carb cravings. I just started back, so I am excited about experiencing these again.
  • Thank you, I appreciate any advice and support I can get, this is going to be a hard road.... :))
  • I want to take more cinnamon, but I heard it can be toxic in large amounts, or lower your blood sugar too much.....yes I am a bit of a hypochondriac, lol.
  • I have chromium sitting in my cabinet, but I am afraid to take it. I don't like starting new meds or even supplements....I'm always afraid of side effects. But yes, I take about a tsp of natural cinnamon a day in my applesauce, but not heard of vitex......hoping to start metformin soon......is chromium okay??
  • I usually stick to 100-150 carbs a day and around 13-1500 cals a day. PCOS sucks....I'm not losing as fast as I should be and I'm working out like crazy...Metformin may help, Labriska. I'm going to get some next week, I hear it can do miraculous things.....:flowerforyou:

  • Even if I've burned 400 calories, I'm still only going to put what the machine says, bc I'm an eater, lol. And if I MFP gives me all those calories to eat back that I didn't burn, I am only defeating the purpose. I eat back 50-80% of my exercise calories, so to me it makes sense to be safe not sorry.....thank you for you…
  • If you don't eat back your exercise calories and try and live off as little calories as possible eventually your body will go into survival mode and you will NOT lose weight. Point Blank. I lose waaaay more weight when I eat my exercise calories back then when I don't. I was also concerned about this at first, but I soon…
  • Thank you, I am planning on getting these next time I go to the health food store :)
  • I have done some more research since my last post. It is developed by a neurologist, Dr. Hirsch. He first made it for patients that have lost their sense of taste. The patients started reporting that it made them not want to eat as much. However, the taste crystals are to ENHANCE the flavor of food, thus making you feel…
  • I have PCOS, and I suffer from EVERY symptom. I am currently not on any medication, bc I am unemployed and have no ins. benefits right now. If someone could tell me like 3 or 4 vitamins that I really need to be taking everyday I would really appreciate it  I am on a low carb diet and exercise daily, I am 292 lbs.…

  • Hello!!! I have SEVERE Polysistic Ovarian Syndrome. I got diagnosed 10 years ago at the tender age of 18. I have ALL symptoms (even the embarassing ones). • My motivation right now is that if I don't I will not live for as long as I would if I made this lifestyle change, I have made up my mind too many times to count to lose weight and ultimately I did lose; my drive. The love for a better life has to be greater than the love of food....being an instant gratification junkie…
