  • I am also new to MFP and looking for friends to "motivate" with. I am from the US though. ;-) John
  • Yes, being about 80 lbs overweight has affected it quite a bit. Much less frequency since I am uncomfortable with certain positions. It's gradually getting better. Libido is also lower I think being overweight.
  • Best of luck to you Eddie. I will request you as a friend. John
  • Welcome. I am sure you will do great on your weight loss plan. I found MFP to be very helpful. Lost 12 lbs so far. John
  • Use MFP everyday, try to stay off a heavy diet of carbs, and I am sure you will lose weight. I go up/down everyday in weight. I weigh myself everyday and fluctuate about 1.5 lbs depending on the day. The general trend though is down at about 2 lbs/week. Be sure to get exercise in if you can. Best of luck to you. John

  • Welcome and I have been heavy most my life too. The extra weight started to go on in my late teens and never stopped. Well I am 44 now and pretty heavy for my size. I have about 60, maybe 70 lbs to lose. Lost 12 lbs in 4 weeks and know I can keep it up. John
  • No it is not hemp that is banned. Hemp (both male and female plants) are just banned to grow in the US federally. Some states however do grow it for medical reasons (like for cancer patients). The powder probably comes from the male plant which has no THC in it. Don't worry, it does not cause a high or anything like that…
  • I have the same challenge. My wife and son can eat anything they want and not gain a pound. They keep lots of high calorie food around, like cookies and chocolate. I just keep thinking about my goal of losing weight and and feeling good about it. This keeps me motivated to stay off the junk food. I normally eat fruit for…
  • Feel free to add me - I am looking for some motivational friends too and I certainly will not be rude. Best of luck to you and I look forward to friending you. John
  • I have had three back surgeries, all fusions and I am just walking about 2 to 3 miles a day. It's working for me without any back pain. Sometimes I take Celebrex (Rx) but most the time not. I realize walking is not going to build muscle like a workout at a gym would but it is working for me. Best of luck to you. John
  • I agree with everyone, MFP is great. So much better the Weight Watchers! Best to you and feel free to add me. John
  • Hi Hailey, One way I am staying on track is attending Weight Watchers. Since you have to weigh in every week, it is a real motivator for me. It's like you have to show the teacher you did your homework. Real psychological, IMO. I don't follow the Weight Watchers point system, I actually really do not like it since it does…
  • I use Brown Rice Protein powder on some days and other days Hemp protein powder. Both available at Whole Foods here in the US. Both are all natural and pure (just one ingredient). They both taste pretty reasonable. I like the hemp protein the best. It's actually from Canada. Here in the US hemp is still banned (since our…
