My goal for the August Ironman Challenge: --Swimming 4 Miles --Biking 120 miles --Running 50 miles I have registered for my first sprint triathlon, scheduled for October 7th. To-date, as of 8-1-12: Swim: .5 miles Bike: 21 miles Run: 6 miles

I have to agree with staying with your normal schedule. I don't eat before I run, as I run so early. The 5Ks around here start much earlier, usually around 7:30am, so running a scheduled 5K isn't a challenge for me, as far as eating. If I was to enter one that started later....maybe I'd try to sleep in more...and maybe eat…

This was interesting and informational, thanks!

I Love this idea! I'll have to start my own sexy jar!
-
Knocked out another 3 miles today!

I started with Couch to 5K and an now running 3 miles 4-5 X a week. I used the Ipod Active.com C25K app. It makes it very easy.

40 pounds by December is definitely doable. Suggestions: Keep a detailed diary of everything that goes in your mouth. Weigh and measure your intake. Turn into an exercise junkie. And most of all...have fun doing it! This is a great site to have by your side! Best of luck to you!

Thanks! I'm going to try this with using PB2 instead of peanut butter, and Maple Grove sugar free syrup instead of honey.
-
These are wonderful!

This looks interesting, will have to try it soon. Thanks!

Love ideas about using pumpkin. Thanks!
-
Thanks! I'll have to try the variations.

Excellent! I was just going to suggest PB2. I'm trying it tonight! Thanks everyone

Looks good! How many does it serve to get the 264 calorie count?
-
Fantastic! Congratulations on the longterm commitment! You look fabulous!

Let's go August! Put in 3 miles today!

If you are active, feel free to add me. I"m a very active MFPer, training for a triathlon. Or, just visit my diary and profile, it is public. Good luck!

I do that. When I'm in the shopping mood, which isn't often, and I see something nice on sale and in a smaller size, I pick it up. I'm going through sizes fairly quickly now, and just keep in mind it will fit soon enough!

bump for these great quinoa recipes! Thanks everyone!

Wonderful commitment! Congratulations on all the hard work!

Great idea, and that is just what I did this morning 40 grams of protein per serving, 327 kcal. Next time I will use a different leavening agent, as the 1 tsp of baking soda yielded 1200 mg of sodium!!
-
You look fantastic! Great suggestions. Thanks for sharing.

I LOVE Storage Wars, especially Barry.

I love these! Very soft and flavorful. Today I just picked up the Light Spinach Flatout bread. Only 90 calories per piece, which is big. 15g carbs, 9 g fiber, 0g sugar, 430 mg sodium.

August goal mileage is 50. Is the spreadsheet a public access google doc so that we can add it directly to a spreadsheet? Might save you a lot of time. :)
-
Is the Total Loss and % Weight Loss automatically calculated or do we enter a revised Total Loss each week? Thanks!
-
I'm in! Thanks for starting this fun group. I will add myself to the google doc.

Hungrygirl.com has a really tasty recipe for a vegie noodle less lasagna. Just google it.
