Well I am a little over 45...actually approaching 65, but have been here just over a year and have lost 77 pounds here and another 10 before I joined. I could use a little diversity in my friends and I also love to cook and eat and that is one of the reasons I ended up here. Now I am learning all over to cook with little…

The only time I have ever logged cooking as an exercise has been when I was doing massive amounts of baking for Christmas, Housework also logged when I did a big job that was out of the ordinary...otherwise I do real exercise.

Bump for further reference,

Thanks, I bookmarked it and will give it a try!

I am sure most of us are recovering from some childhood trauma and I am not alone in this...eventually we have to get over it and "man" up and accept what is. I am so glad to have discovered MFP to help me eat better and also to help me get a handle on the things that made me fat.

Bump, might try this...

Cheesecake Factory! Lots and lots of cheesecake!

Well let me say this...after a while you accept that you have to eat better and eat less to get where you would like to be. But it doesn't ever get easier. Some days I just want to eat without thinking how many calories are in what you eat and without limiting amounts and then I think, that's how I got here in the first…

No way I am giving up bread and pasta and that is why I am here because I don't have to... .

Yes, I have noticed that getting rid of excess fat has run over into getting rid of other stuff. Wanting to be more organized and throwing things out that before I held onto. (Like those extra pounds)
-
Sounds good, I will give this a try!

bump

Try that youtube video done in a chair...believe me, it's a challenge to keep your arms up!

That is virtually the way with everything I own now. Went in my closet to pull out a nice top my son and wife bought me a while back and omg, it hung on me. Nothing fits me anymore!

I don't think I will ever be able to give up sugar completely, but when I have a craving for something sweet I do get some relief from the Extra Dessert Delights gum. They have so many flavors and they are wonderful!

I've been at this nearly a year, starting mid January last year. I need someone to make me accountable and I will do the same for you if you wish to add me to your friends. I have said all along that this journey is to learn how to eat and live and not just a weight loss fix. I need lots of inspiration and a little push in…

I have a stationary bike that I use for exercise because I have artificial knees and lots of impact is hard on them. I find the first five minutes on the bike the hardest but if I push through and keep going, I find my second wind. Just push but that being said, don't hurt yourself!

Well I didn't exactly fall off the wagon...but I ate everything I wanted on Christmas Day! That was my Christmas present to myself. But the day after Christmas I got right back on, but I gotta tell you after nearly a year of sticking to my calorie limits for the most part, it was really hard to buckle down December 26. I…

Loving fresh kale recently steamed, and weight watcher's light string cheese.

Hmmm what happens when we are sleeping?

I say a good solid 9! I have baked my Christmas cookies and eaten a few but not many. I'll get through it.

I know you feel a long way from where you want to be, but I can tell you from my own personal experience that the only way to do this is one day at a time. All the exercise suggestions on here are great! I found exercise videos on Youtube and also was given a recumbent bike that I have nearly worn out. Also lately I have…

Yes I had to adjust my goals because I had so much to lose and I made my first goal not too long ago so I sent my sights on another 50 lbs to be lost...and I have to say this second 50 looks so far away, sighhhh. But I will get there one pound at a time!

Bump!

Hey everyone! I'm 64 years old but most of the time I don't feel that old. I am married with 4 grown children and 4 grandchildren. I live just south of the Tampa area. My middle daughter and my two grandsons live here with us. My husband is disabled, legally blind, well nearly completely blind now and crippled, due to…

Hmmmm, well I am up to 75 lbs lost since January 2012. Lost 10 before I joined MFP. I still have a lot of my fat clothes and since most of the pants are elastic waists, I can still keep them up but they hang on me lol and dip where my big belly used to be. They will be going soon because I am NEVER going back there!

Anyone who needs some encouragement can feel free to add me. I am 64 and have been at this 286 days with moderate success.

Oh I agree with that, lol. I could only hope to look as good as some of those young ones look who are convinced they are "fat".
