Great job!

I realize that "starvation mode" gets totally blown out of proportion, but I think most agree that the human body is quite good at adapting to reduced calories by burning less energy (slowing down the metabolism). If you can eat MORE, and lose the same amount of fat without the metabolic slowdown and all of it's…

Well done!

Well done!

Sevencallmemom... The sweat-stain on your shirt almost resembles the Wu-Tang logo :) Impressive!

Supposedly your body does a pretty good job of adapting to a calorie deficit by burning less energy ("lowering your metabolism"). You'll notice great weight loss the first 1-3 weeks, and it slows down considerably after. I've been reading up on this, and a supposedly effective way to do this is to eat at maintenance after…

Congrats... that's a serious transformation.

Dun forget da pickles!

Eat every 2.5 hours or get skinny-fatz! Set your alarm in the middle of teh night 'n eat cottage cheese! Get teh whey protein enema!

Week 1 completed, all 8 reps achieved with good form for all 3 days... Interestingly, day 2 I started out sore, and going through the workout actually eliminated the aches and pains. Week 2 starting tomorrow with 9 reps, same weight.

ohhh yeah. That would be me.

Blue Diamond almonds... 170 calories per 28g guacamole... healthy fat 100-150 calories Blue Tortilla Chips (I like the spicy variety) 11-14 chips for 140-150 calories depending on the serving (goes great with the guac, making for a good 250-300 cal snack) Use more Olive Oil in your cooking... Nice whole grain bread (not…

If you only knew how hard a testosterone filled 25 year old really had to work in order to gain a pound of muscle... Lifting weights (even vigorously) will only help you achieve your goals. The idea that you'll wind up bulked up isn't realistic, so no worries. The bulky lady-monsters that you've seen pictures of either…

Thank you kindly... Another two months and I may lose a cup size on that fantastic rack my life of leisure has helped me attain. :)
-
Nice job... and might I also add that your final after pic gives a whole new meaning to 'trying to get in your pants' :) Extra credit if the two of you can walk like that.

Believe it or not there is a scientific explanation for this. The circular elliptical motion causes estrogenic tension™, resulting in minor testicular tears which then leads to a lactic acid buildup in the prostate. Dangerous stuff for a man!

Well done sir...

Strongly disagree with you on that. I agree with the first part, that weight lifting adds lean muscle, but having been fortunate enough to get out in the weather lately on our local bike path, I can clearly see that dedicated have built decent amounts of muscle in their legs. Again, I suggest using google and using the…

I actually prefer an upper/lower split myself because by the time I finish so many exercises I'm run out of steam. Especially combining so many challenging compound exercises together. Squats alone are brutal. A few subtleties that may make the difference.... (unless of course you performed it this way as well) The second…

One of the primary reasons it's recommended to eat exercise calories (as I understand it) is to avoid a slowdown of your metabolism resulting in less calories burned during the day. Some people suggest that your body can go into "starvation" mode and hold onto it's precious stores of fat if your calorie intake is too low…

I don't know this for a fact, but in general my understanding is that it speeds up your metabolism. A faster metabolism burns more calories in a day, increasing your rate of fat loss. Similar to the above, cardio also builds muscle (not as much as strength training of course). More muscle, faster metabolism, increased fat…

Appreciate the response! Based on the overwhelming success people at bodybuilding.com have had with allpros workout (4 years/1000's of responses) I'm going to stick to the routine I posted. I want to give it a few cycles (15-20 weeks) and see if I make the kind of progress that folks over there claim is possible. Another…

lol, and this is a better example of love?
-
Love isn't really supposed to be anything... unless you're a spiritual person and you use your religion to define it. Using Christianity as an example, we all fall miserably short of what 1 Corinthians describes love as being. With a 40% or more divorce rate (at least in the states) I find it difficult to actually critique…

Well done... but your pictures may need to be reduced in size because they're cutting off the after pic.

Would that be too much volume on the lower back initially? When would you suggest doing it -- on cardio days? How many times per week? Thanks for the response!

I just did day one yesterday @ the following stats: Squats x 135 Bench Press x 155 Bent-Over Rows x 90 Overhead Barbell Presses x 90 Stiff-Legged Deadlifts x90 Barbell Curls x 65 Calf Raises x 165 I can't believe the difference between what I had been doing before. The exercises I have been doing the last few months have…

It's auto calculated based on the foods you enter. Another one to pay attention to is sodium... it's painfully obvious why we suffer from some of the health problems we do in the US when you realize how much sodium frozen/fast foods contain :/

Eating one good-sized banana puts you right on the edge. Add some carrots and a cup of V8 juice and you're over the limit. I get why people don't worry about "natural" sugar, but realistically, I don't know how much your body can tell the difference between a banana and a few tablespoons of sugar. A diabetic has to watch…
