Hi there! Don't give up. It's really easy to get discouraged when folks say things like that. The important thing is that you realize that whatever happens, you need to be happy with you. Sounds like you are in a place now where you would like to make positive changes. Set small goals and as you reach them, set bigger…

Here's a radical idea and sooo delicious. We use Portobello mushrooms as individual pizza crust. Cutt off the stem and bake it for f minutes, then add your toppings. Mine were, Turkey pepperoni, Crumpled turkey sausage, a lil mozzarella, pineapple and coconut. We aren't big on tomato sauce so we didn't add any but you can…

You look amazing!

So first things first - YOU WILL GET THRU THIS. I don;t think anything you've said is foreign. Lots of people go through it. You just need to re-focus and think about the ultimate prize - taking back your life and getting healthy. When boredom sets in, fight through it. Get out and go take a walk with or without the…

I count water and coconut water for sure. Tea is a possibility as well.

I would probably work on either getting a quicker time (if that's important to you), or start building up endurance and work on a 10K.

Fantastic! Never get tired of your posts. You are a Rock star!

You can never have too much RAM so I think this will work well for you, especially with programs like Photoshop. If you do alot of work with Photoshop, make sure you will be comfortable using the smaller screen of the laptop for that kind of work. It al depends on what you're comfortable with. If not, consider adding an…

You know, it's entirely possible that he's having similar feelings and not knowing what to do or what to say. So, someone needs to take the first step and open up the dialogue and talk about it. Whatever the outcome, it's better to know and move forward than to wonder. The waiting really is the hardest part, and often the…

I'm thinking she either doesn't understand the whole idea that MFP isn't a fad diet, it's about a change in lifestyle, she's afraid of losing money to a free site, or she's just dense.

All of my MFP friends inspire me, but the one that I continue to state as my number one inspiration is CORY!

I feel a little sore after it, but feel good throughout flu season.

Everyone burns differently and the numbers are based on either what someone has entered as their own numbers or, in the case of some of the online tools, it's an average burn based on an average person of a certain weight . Use a heart rate monitor to track your won progress. Once you start entering your own numbers, then…

Grilled chicken salad or some wraps. If you have to have a burger, get a small one, try losing the bun and stay away from the fries. Check out the nutrition info before you go so you know what you can/should have. http://nutrition.mcdonalds.com/getnutrition/nutritionfacts.pdf

BMI is crap, and that's not just my opinion. I've talked to doctors and they consistently tell me it's basically a number based on numbers - takes nothing into account like your frame size, etc. I think its more useful for military standards than anything else but they had to come up with some "one size fits all" approach…

In addition to the earlier suggestions, I would suggest squats, front and side leg lifts, and front and side lunges. While I have a long way to go, I've seen some definite differences in my thighs.

I think it depends on them. They seem to be happy with themselves and perhaps the woman on the right has goals of being more muscular.

In my opinion, All HRMs are not created equally. From what I have read and seen, the Polar HRMs seem to be the most accurate and reliable overall. I highly recommend that whatever one you choose, that it is one with a chest strap and that you religiously change the settings to your new weight to get an accurate…

I definitely understand the paranoia, and when I plan to do Starbucks, I also try to do a little extra exercise, just in case... I have not given up my Carmel Frappuccino Light from Starbucks. I think the minute you start saying you can't have something, that's a recipe for disaster, since it will just make you want it…

Heart Rate Monitor :)

Until I got my HRM, here is what I did. I did some googling and found several sites that I believe did some "rough estimates" of what the average person of my weight burned doing certain exercises for certain periods of time. I would use a couple of them for somewhat consistency to decide. Occasionally I might use numbers…

Yes! It's kind of a pet peeve of mine - the harder you work and the more you get fit, the harder it is to burn calories. That being said, try changing up your routine. Your body will get used to the routine and you may find that you start to plateau. Also, if you aren't already, start including some hand weights into your…

Welcome! I just got back from a week in Maui and it was FABULOUS! This trip was initially planned for last year and had I gone then, I would have been 100 pounds heavier, so sure am glad I waited. I started my weight loss journey on MFP 13 months ago, and it took me a year and a week to lose 100 pounds. I am now working on…
