I'll be 36 on Tuesday (I also have 2 kids). I'm in the best shape of my life. I lift heavy and eat closer to 2200 calories a day. The creepers at the gym seem to think I am hot now...imagine how hot I will be in 4 years.

I've been doing compound lifts for almost 2 years. I started dead lifting at 65lbs; I pulled 235lbs a few weeks ago. To put it in perspective, it probably took me 4 months to progress from 225 to 235. That's just how it goes sometimes.

I'm 35 and also not gotten to Stacy's level; not a big deal. It might take longer at 45 than 25 to achieve goals; but I imagine goals at 45 are different than at 25 anyway.

34-26-36 at 5'3...ALMOST the right size for Sir Mix-A-Lot.
-
I generally eat 40-50 grams of fiber. I poop a lot...coincidence?

At 5'6 and 122, you don't need to lose weight. You need to lift heavy. Google Stacy from Nerdfitness. That'll explain it.

I want to add for the OP- don't have children before you get counseling and things change for the better OR before you decide to end the marriage. Your situation sounds very much like my parents' 40 year marriage, which was very difficult to live with as a child. My parents were very dysfunctional as a pair and caused a…

The haggis and potatoes I'm cool with. Whatever the Vikings ate (fermented fish product?), I'm less cool with.

I lift heavy, and I don't think I look "bulky." I'm also 5'3 and dropped from a size 8 to 2 with heavy lifting (took close to a year though)...so yeah, you won't likely get bulky either. Do whatever you prefer and will stick with, but definitely don't buy into the "bulky lady" thing.

Not sure if you can search shelters and donate your miles directly to that group (I don't have a smart phone/app); but the group I volunteer with uses ResQWalk- it's St. Mary's Animal Welfare League (SMAWL), if anyone is interested in a group!

I look better and can eat more.

I'm wearing the same pants, but the pants fit differently than before. I've lost fat, built muscle, and have a better shape.

Well now I have a dilemma, b/c I can't hit her back with a weight...she has them ALL.

Beer = cheat meal

I wouldn't ask to use the equipment if she is hoarding it; I would walk over to her pile and use what I needed. The worst she can do is hit you...and is she going to do that? Not likely.

My husband bought mine for my birthday. I have an Inzer; he had to call the company for their advice on sizing.
-
Do they have kids together? If not, there is no reason to ever talk to an ex again. I would meet with every divorce attorney in your area, b/c when you do get a divorce; not a single lawyer will be able to consult with him, b/c you already have. My neighbor did it...it was genius.

It's going to likely take more than a couple of years to get over that feeling. I started losing weight in 1995. While I don't feel "fat" anymore or insecure when people are looking at me; I'm still paranoid that I have toilet paper on my shoe (or something like that). Maybe that's normal though? Eventually, you see the…

Does New Rules have a "deload" week built into the program (I can't remember). If it does, take the deload. The program I'm on has a deload week where you do 2 sets of my warm-up vs. 1 set and no heavy sets for the week. I look forward to deload weeks, b/c it's a chance to really nail your form. I still do cardio; it will…

Why would you feel guilty about taking care of yourself, improving your health, and showing your children that self-care and health are a priority? Get up earlier, go to the gum earlier, minimize the amount of unnecessary time spent at the gym (like a shower), food prep on the weekends, so you spend less time in the…

When I first started losing weight...everyday; then a couple of times a week when my plan was obviously working; then once a week; then maybe once a month. I've stopped weighing myself, b/c it was frustrating and meaningless for me at this point.
-
Elliptical (only b/c you are sitting on your butt on the bike), but the elliptical isn't going to specifically spot reduce the fat on your butt.

Nuts, seeds, hard boiled eggs, cheese sticks, whole fruit, half of a peanut butter sandwich, tuna or chicken packets that tear open

I think everybody said pretty much what I was going to say: start with 50 if that is your minimum for a long-term goal. Break that down into manageable chunks (like 5-10lbs). Look up the term SMART goals. Celebrate the accomplishment of the short-term goals. Losing 5lbs may not sound like a lot, but it is 5lbs closer to…

Yeah so if this a typical day, OP needs to increase the fiber.
-
No...and that does sound weird to me, but I'm not a very emotional person in general.

I did deadlifts, b/c the squat racks were full. I was slightly annoyed until I remembered that I'd pick deadlifts over squats any day.
-
It's probably a dietary change if you haven't increased physical activity. The other possibility is just normal "aging." I've had to change deodorants a few time over the years, b/c it seems like they've stopped working; it's more likely it is a hormonal change or some other personal change than the deodorant's fault.

I have 4 cats and volunteer at a cat shelter twice a week. I win...or lose depending on how you look at it.

Insecure, jealous, afraid you'll leave him, afraid you'll make him eat "healthy" food...all the above. People don't like change; he's probably afraid that you'll become "disgusted" with his weight, b/c he is "disgusted" with himself and ashamed that you've lost weight and he "can't." I can't tell you what to do, but I can…
