I noticed you put "right way" in quotes. Obviously you were losing because 70 lbs is a great accomplishment. I understand that you hit a plateau, but why did you put "right way" in quotes like that? What is it that you were doing before when you were losing the 70 lbs? I agree with the others that shocking your body by…

Why not try finding some activity that you can do together that won't make him feel uncomfortable? If he feels uncomfortable taking his shirt off at the beach and isn't interested in going to the gym -- why not go out for walks together? Or find out what kind of exercise he's interested in? Then you can both benefit from…

I used to be an extremely picky eater, and people were always pushing me to try new things, and I would try things on occasion but I'd usually end up spitting them back out in disgust. When I finally got serious about my health, I pushed myself to try things I never liked before whether because of taste or texture. I still…

I've also been feeling discouraged lately...but I've been feeling discouraged because I've been having a lot of leg pains. I've been to doctor visits, had all sorts of scans done, been told I have a bone lesion, but I have to wait another month now for another doctor to tell me exactly what that means for me to have a bone…

I'm sorry that you've had it 3 times. That sounds awful :(

Maybe it could be a recent change of protocols that hasn't really worked its way through all health care offices. It just seemed so strange to me that everyone else who had been diagnosed recently with Lyme all had been given 30 days regardless of their varying symptoms and amount of exposure after the bite. I will…

Thanks for your response! My doctor advised me to have food with the antibiotic and I'm glad I listened, even with food, the first couple of times I took the antibiotic was rough on my stomach!

I'm really just wondering if people who have only been on it for 10 days are those who ended up with chronic Lyme's disease. I just don't want to be stuck with this for the rest of my life if I can avoid it. I like my doctor, and maybe 10 days will be fine, but doctors are just as human as anyone else so they can't be…

I always feel that recent weight gains are easiest to lose. Don't waste time being disappointed, it happened and you can't go back in time to change that, but you CAN change it going forward! It's all about your mindset. Once your family is gone, you just have to think positive and take back control!

I don't have any pics but here is the timeline of how my weight loss has gone for me: October 2010 - 170 lbs (my heaviest) I began limiting my portions without tracking any calories and with very little exercise. February 2012 - 159 lbs ; to June 2012 - 145 lbs I joined MFP and started tracking calories according to their…

Looking at your diary from the last few days, you've only gotten a NET of 600 calories most days. I would definitely recommend you eat your exercise calories back.
-
http://scoobysworkshop.com/calorie-calculator/ Using that ^ site as a tool, if you NET 1400 calories every day for the next 5 months, you should lose 10 lbs. So always eat that much, and if you exercise, eat back the exercise calories.

Originally, I had mine closed off to others, and I was nervous about opening it up. I think I was worried that opening my diary for others to see would cause me to be dishonest about logging -- leaving out splurges and such. People always say that having it opened helps you stay accountable, but I thought just the opposite…

Give yourself the freedom to have a high calorie day to get your metabolism going again.

Not eating enough. Starvation mode.

White bread, milk chocolate, and just about any cookies are triggers for me too....as well as many other sweets and baked goods. I only buy whole grain bread and dark chocolate because I enjoy them but they don't trigger me to want to eat more. I try to avoid cookies for the most part but allow myself to splurge from time…

It's all about learning portion sizes and eating in moderation. There's no need to say you'll "never" eat those things again, just don't eat them all the time. Save them for special occasions. Or, when you make mac and cheese, just don't make so much of it so that you can pre-plan the portion size you'll eat. Or learn ways…

Next time you're craving pizza, bring enough money for only a couple of slices. Get the slices and eat them there -- then when you're thinking about getting more, you won't have the money for more and you'll just have to go home. Then have a plan to keep your mind busy when you get home. If at any point you think, 'I can…

I've tried the 1200 calorie thing and realized it's good for a quick loss over a short amount of time, but the loss doesn't hold up. I'm working on the whole "eating between your BMR and TDEE" thing now and I'm thinking this is going to be more sustainable in the long-run. I'd rather a slow and steady loss that sticks than…

You've lost 20 pounds eating at a deficit in 3 months. If you keep up at the rate you're going, you'll be below 300 by this time next year, and below 200 at this time the year after. So what's the rush? I'm sure your doc has good intentions, but it seems like you've got this.

Whenever I've lost weight all over, I've lost weight in my belly. I don't think 'cutting carbs' has anything to do with it unless you really eat carbs in excess. Reducing calories and increasing exercise (both cardio and strength training) has always worked best for me. Drinking lots of water also helps.

I'm 5'3" and I eat about 1500 calories and then I eat back exercise calories.

Great progress! And cute haircut!
