  • Sounds really delicious
  • Tried it, it's fine, tastes the same as the other almond milks I have tried. I usually get the alpro unsweetened one from the supermarket (morrisons/tesco/sainsburys).
  • It is normal to feel like this, but if it goes too far it can start to cause problems e.g. 1) feeling like you're failing can lead to self - sabotage 2) not being ever happy with your weight can cause you to go to low with your weight plus other possibilities 1 thing I found helped was to be conscious of how much weight I…
  • I am in the UK so food prices/availability is bit different over here. I have spent quite a lot of today preparing food for the week. I make sure all my food for the next day is prepped and bagged the night before so I can just grab it in the morning. Breakfast - protein shake with fruit or porridge (oatmeal) with fruit .…
  • Unless you're a diabetic or similar there is no reason as to why you can't eat that much fruit, I do. Again its up to you whether you avoid aspartame or not. You would have lost weight because you ate less calories than you burnt, and being male and doing a physical job that probably would have been quite a few. Eat…
  • Water based foods are ml = grams (the definition of 1ml = the volume of 1 gram of water). For oil based foods ml = (grams - 10%). 10% of 15ml is really not worth worrying about. Stick to grams = ml and you'll be fine. At worst you'll be very slightly out.
  • Also meant to add whey protein gave me the most awful stomach cramps - worse than any other dairy products.
  • Go for any labelled vegan. I use a chocolate soya one. Have also tried hemp but it turns everything sludge green and I could only get it unflavoured.
  • Tandoori chicken with chickpea and spinach curry, and some runner beans on the side.
  • I pre-log during the week. Meals first, then snacks to use the leftover calories. Sometimes things change but it's easy enough to delete stuff. Weekends aren't as planned (i do mealplan during the week) so I don't tend to pre-log. I do pre-log exercise that is going to make a big difference to my calorie allowance (such as…
  • The smallest one loves salami (including chorizo, pepperoni etc) She has also loved spicy food since she stole some when she was weaning - there seems to be no limit to the heat she can eat! She went through a stage of eating anything as long as it had hot sauce on. On the flip side she doesn't like food without a strong…
  • I have a similar problem in that we do a lot of socialising and eating out on the weekends. A few things I do are: 1) stock up a few extra calories a day on weekdays - 250cal x 5 days = 1250 extra for the weekend 2) extra exercise - I do my food shopping on foot on the weekend and carry it home in a hiking backpack. We…
  • Start seeing healthy choices as positive choices not negative ones. For example don't see a healthy lunch as something that is depriving you of a tasty unhealthy lunch. Find healthy foods that you enjoy. Then you can stick to it cos it doesn't feel like a punishment. I cycle to work because the other choice is a long walk…
  • I do nuts and dried fruit, either mixed varieties or cranberries/almonds or cashews/raisins/sultanas. I do a 25g- 30g/1oz portion. If i mix it myself i do half nuts and half dried fruit. I keep hardboiled eggs in the fridge. Babybels, string cheese are good. Apple slices with peanut butter Ryvita or crackers with soft…
  • I cycle 90 minutes a day 5 days a week commuting. Then walking and backpacking on the weekend. Plus 3x weight lifting per week Am trying to add pilates a couple of times a week. I do the lifting and pilates at home. Buying weights worked out at about equivalent to 3 months months gym membership. I use the new rules of…
  • The only way to lose that much, that quickly would be by using unsustainable extreme weightloss methods, and you would gain it back as soon as you stopped. Pick a reasonable goal and it will be sustainable and you will be able to keep it off permanently.
  • you can't track your calories acturately unless you know the portion size.
  • Houmous - all the ingredients seperately = fine, together as houmous = evil
  • Rehydration stuff is diralyte (not sure on spelling) in the uk, available from any chemist or most supermarkets.
  • Would second hemp, unflavoured (I'm not vegan but dairy intolerant). Not much of a taste to it, smells like mown grass. Only downside is it is khaki green and that's what colour everything ends up. I'm in the UK and get mine either through amazon or holland and barrett.
  • I enter all ours in the recipe builder but I do it on a weekend when I am doing the meal plan for the week, while watching telly. I work and my husband is at home so does the cooking during the week but likes me to plan the meals and email him the recipes. While I am doing all that, compiling a shopping list, working out…
  • I eat 1-2 bananas a day. Fab post workout snack. Hasn't hindered my weightloss at all.
  • I am 30, have 2 kids and also work full time in a sedentary job. I started at 250+lbs (didn't weigh myself until I had lost a bit). I cycle to work (8 miles each way) 5 days a week and do weight lifting and pilates in an evening at home when the kids have gone to bed. On the weekend we do quite a bit of walking. We don't…
  • The lunch i am having at the moment is: Cooked lamb (I do whole joints in the slow cooker and shred the meat for lunches) Quinoa Diced cooked beetroot Pomegranate seeds Peeled and diced cucumber Diced spring onions (scallions) Flat-leaf parsley Horseradish sauce (I find that the 'hot horseradish' ones are dairy free) as a…
  • I started at 18 stone, and doing approx 1 hour walking a day, i lost quickly and easily on 2000 calories per day. You can't stay constantly hungry because you won't be able to stick to it. Up your calories. You might lose weight slightly slower (though I expect you will still lose quite rapidly), but it will be much easier…
  • I have recently started to believe people some of the time. It's been 18 months since I started losing weight. You do need to reprogram your mind, reinforce the weight loss, as worse case scenario, it can lead you to regain the weight due to feeling like you are still as big as you always were. Take progress photos,…
  • Tonight we had a chicken, chickpea and tomato chilli with bulgar wheat on the side I heated 1 tbsp oil in a large pan. Added a diced onion, 2 diced bell peppers, 3 crushed garlic cloves. Sauteed them until softened and added a tsp each of cumin and sweet smoked paprika. Then added 2 diced red chillies, 3 diced chicken…
  • Add protein shakes on top of your normal diet. Nuts are high in calories so either as they are or as nut butters. You can also dry fry them will spices.
  • I started cycling last summer, borrowing my mother in laws bike (which I am still using) as i wanted something more challenging than walking. I had lost 40ish lbs by that point. I hadn't cycled in about 15 years at that point and could do a mile on the flat as long as i stopped part way. This year i started working full…
  • Weigh the toast/crispbread before and after adding butter to work out how much butter you've used.
