I do it myself regularly. As mentioned by some it's the interruption to a normal routine that causes it for me, plus having the kids on a weekend (they have to have the odd treat and so I often succumb). Once I do the floodgates open and the rest of the day is a free for all. I always regret it the next day too. In order…

Fantastic post, I agree that binge eating stems from emotional instability and it's controlling (or better still trying to rectify) the cause of those negative emotions (in my case stress) that is the key. I've lost 4 stone recently and in trying to lower body fat to single figures I have a low calorie/low carb eating plan…

Yeah, gonna be treating the kids this weekend. If there's any left over (very doubtful) then I might have a slice :)
-
Haha, there's an idea! Already gave away a slice (she said it was delicious), but the rest is going in storage till a week on Tuesday... then I'll be having it all along with a 2600 calorie takeaway Parmo. My reward day after two weeks. Can't wait

Took me a while to work it out. Knew that BMI was not the best way to calculate it given that muscle mass is not accounted for so tried to find out what kind of weight/height ratio most fitness models are to give me a benchmark. Unfortunately not easy to do but I did eventually come across this calculator which made it…

Had a 16" pizza with cheesy wedges twice in recent weeks (yup, ate the lot) but they were cheat meals so didn't really feel guilty. Back in the days before the health kick though my one binge meal I fondly remember was a KFC mega feast... Two Zinger Towers, Two Twisters, Two Large Fries... And a Diet Coke (wtf) lol. Had to…

Reminds me of a blog post from Phil Learney I read a while back... http://phillearneyblog.com/2012/02/05/becoming-beyond-average-and-whats-socially-acceptable/ - extract below: "In a bar with 10 people, 9 people are drinking alcohol and one bottles of water, who is most uncomfortable or awkward, the 9 people or the one…

Went from 16st 7 to 11st 13 about 8 years ago. Met a girl, settled down, had 2 kids and comfortable living ensued. Gym stopped, takeaways and eating out increased. Got back up to 16st 7lb late last year. Missus left me in Oct 2011 and within a week was seeing someone else. I moved back to Mum's and the situation gave me…

Nice! Added to my list :)

And a few more good ones I've just come across (did a quick search on the forums)... 'Our greatest battles are that with our own minds' Pain is temporary. It may last a minute, or an hour, or a day, or a year, but eventually it will subside and something else will take its place. If I quit, however, it lasts forever. That…

Haha, that's really made my day! Gotta love kids lol :D

When I began my weight/fat loss I was regularly drinking 8 glasses, then reached a plateau where I stuck for a few weeks. Decided to up the water intake so now I'm intaking between 18-24 glasses a day. Googled it to ensure 24 glasses a day wasn't too much and found out that Jason Statham drinks 6 gallons of water…

There's that many on the market it's difficult to actually pin down one. I have a Met-Rx meal replacement shake which I suppose is a high protein slim fast shake, with all the right nutrients to support muscle growth and fat loss. Plus the chocolate flavour tastes delicious :)

Clean eating, calorie deficit, weight training and any form of HIIT should all help

Calisthenics or circuit training indoors - no need for weights and has the added benefit of incorporating a little strength and toning as well as cardio. Plus due to the nature of the exercise routine it elevates your metabolism for a period of 24 hours after you've finished so you burn more calories doing nothing :)...…

Primary aim is to be healthy, secondary aim is to look good. Got absolutely no intention of competing but I am studying to become a fully qualified Personal Trainer and Nutritional advisor. I'm of the opinion that if you are going to be a PT you should at least look the part and practice what you preach.
-
Haha. Yeah, from using the calculator at http://home.fuse.net/clymer/bmi/ my fat percentage comes in at 12-13% so good guess :) First of all, thanks for all the feedbacks and comments, much appreciated! I think ^^^ is the way I'm going to go. Although in principle I agree I should bulk first and then cut, psychologically I…

I think you are bang on the money. Most fitness pros advocate bulking first and then cutting, and from your reasonings I can see why. They also say that bulking and cutting cannot really be done at once because they are both contradictory approaches - one involves a calorie deficit, the other a surplus. The rare exceptions…

Latest pics - sorry about the lack of a smile - concentrating on the photography :D Not 'that' much development so have just decided to reduce the calorie intake by 600 a day and step up the strength training/circuits (no steady state cardio) in a bid to get the abs out and the inguinal crease (V) showing lol

Haha, thanks for all the comments, really lifted my spirits! xx As I'm in training to become a Personal Trainer and Nutritional advisor I've started up a fitness/health/nutrition blog. Check it out... http://bit.ly/IAfIp8 - just posted a new topic on my home calisthenics workout with some updated pics :)

^^^^ Couldn't have said it better myself. So I won't try.

Love these posts, all inspirational pics! SW 231 CW 175 GW 180 February picture is at my goal weight, I've actually lost 5lb since then and another inch off my waist. Now looking to condition and bulk a little to get back up to at least 180 and keep my ideal 32" waist :)

Totally agree!

^^^^ Sounds about right to me

I think if you eat the extra calories and burn them through training/weights you should see similar results on the scales. The only difference would be that you would be that your body composition would be better when you train (more toned/muscular and reduced bodyfat)... Google 'skinny fat' which gives you an insight into…

In the same kind of position. Target weight now reached but looking to lose 7lb fat and gain 7lb muscle. If you're stepping up the strength training I would suggest you up the calories, but do it in a way that makes you feel comfortable. Ie if you aren't hungry don't force yourself to eat, but if you are go for it and…

Yeah the last 3 months have been a bit slow compared to the first three. Lost just under 3 stone in the first three months and just over half a stone since then. Obviously it gets harder as you have less body fat to lose but did think it would be a little quicker. That was one of the reasons I looked and found this site...…

Thanks for all the fantastic comments guys, really helps to keep the motivation going!! :D In response to some of the questions… I started off around 28% body fat. (Used http://home.fuse.net/clymer/bmi/ to calculate this btw). Here's the stats since October... Never had a weekly body fat target, just concentrated on and…
