crotch-eting = crocheting I had a hard time with the 'ch' in a lot of words learning English, but that one was embarrassing :) Especially since I said it until I was 15. Not mine, but cute... my mother's name was Muriel, and when my cousin tried to say it as a toddler, it came out 'moonie'. So from that day on, my mom was…

Lynden here, right along the Canadian border.

I didn't even get half way through, I suppose I expected too much when buying a 'sex' novel. Silly me, thinking an editor would have been hired before publishing, lol. I found it all very juvenile and forced, but hey, to each their own.

Pickles, tapioca, jello and oatmeal. They will actually make me gag if I try to eat any of them. There are other foods I don't like, but they aren't *disgusting* to me.

Maybe they are trying their own weird little version of hot yoga? lol. Extra padding = extra sweat? Or one lady did it, and everyone else just figured it was the thing to do!

I like feta or goat cheese crumbled, nuts, (almonds, pecans & walnuts are great!), I usually use spinach or arugula instead of lettuce, and it goes really well with fruit... figs, apples, pears, oranges, pretty much any berry. Veggie wise, I'm pretty lame, usually just cucumber, but I also like roasted red peppers. I…

I did for a week when I started, 3-4000 calories was an average week day for him, lol. He is extremely athletic, runs every morning before work, works a physical job, and lifts 4days a week. He certainly doesn't need me to track for him, it was just out of curiosity. I felt like such an underachiever that I stopped, haha.

Mine isn't a weird combo, it's just a weird thing to do. Microwaved marshmallows! It is seriously the only thing our microwave gets used for, lol. You know when you're a kid and you microwave marshmallows to watch them triple in size for science? They get really hard and crunchy after, with a sort of caramelized/burnt…

I have to admit, I feel like that almost every day! I started in January and have only lost 30 pounds, but even with all my bad 'screw it' days, I have kept it off. At this rate I will be at my goal in 4 more years, lol, BUT I remind myself every time I feel down that it's better than being my starting weight in 4 more…

I made a pizza dough with it last week and was shocked, I actually liked it. The guy didn't, but that was only after I told him what it was made of :) I really like mashed cauliflower too, but I mix it with some cream cheese and sour cream, you know, just because :) Cauliflower is one of the very few veggies I don't like…

I agree with setting small goals, that has helped me. Also, whenever I start to think 'why bother', I check out the success posts on here, they are amazing! It also gives me a kick in the butt, because I think, "If I had stuck with the program when I first started, I would be at my goal already!" I also agree with taking…

I was going to mention Dave Ramsey as well. I have never read his book/plan myself, but I have 6 friends who have used it to get out of debt and start a savings plan, and they all swear up and down by it. I'm a list person, I track my money like I do my food. We have a bill calendar with every single payment, including one…

13 days, lol. We decided to be rational and wait 6 months to make it official though. (rings/announcement/etc). We've been friends since I was 4 or 5 though, it wasn't like we had just met.

I can't get over how much younger you look! Amazing work!

Definitely talk to your doctor first thing! When my mom was going through chemo she could barely stomach anything, nothing sounded good, she couldn't keep much down etc. To get some calories in her we started giving her 3 tablespoons of coconut oil a day, it did wonders! It was 120 cals per tablespoon, really settled her…

These are my go-to treats atm. Only 1 carb per cookie, and really yummy. http://www.genaw.com/lowcarb/butter_cookies.html

It's definitely insurance, my husband's job has the same thing. Except like another poster said, the non-smokers actually get a deduction, the smokers pay the full price.

I would wear them and pay careful attention to how she reacts, chances are she will be happy to see them being put to god use instead of sitting in a closet. I know this is a totally different circumstance, but we gave my mother's clothing away to 2 ladies we knew could use them when she passed away in June. As happy as it…

1, 6 months 2. $25K, I know that's a lot, but the average cost of a wedding here is $32K. 3. Invited 92, 86 came 4. little paper bags of jelly bellies 5. end of summer 6. Saturday afternoon 7. honestly, wouldn't change a single thing. 8. the food, and yes, worth every cent. 9. didn't really have set colours, 'earthy…

I got mine at costco in Canada for $450, worth every single cent! I make everything from soup, to batter to smoothies in there. I've never actually seen them higher than $450, shop around.

I find money all the time, sadly it's my own money hat I've dropped or stashed somewhere. Last time I took the couch cushions off I found $45, lol. My husband found 12 grand in a bathroom stall at the border crossing once, but reported it, (after taking the time to count it, haha). Someone was obviously trying to ditch it…

I would sooner save up an extra hundred calories a day and enjoy myself on Thanksgiving, instead of rationing myself 1 tablespoon of mashed potatoes, or spend an entire month fretting about what I am going to eat. I'm Canadian, married to an American, so I get 2 Thanksgivings! Yay me! (and there will be brazen, unabashed,…

I'm 5'5, I want to be back at 140. Before I gained weight, that's what I was, in great shape and a size 6.

New dentist, definitely! Any dentist who won't see you for an emergency sooner than a month away is NOT worth going to!

As much as I love carbs, I have been low carb for a about a month now, and have no problem with it. I lost weight eating carbs, I certainly don't think they are evil, I have medical reasons for cutting them out. It took me 3 or 4 days to adjust, since then I feel great, tons of energy.

My chef knives are from Japan, and I have no idea what their name is or how I would spell it in English :) However, my favourite go-to kitchen knife is a messermeister elite, a bit heavier, but I prefer that. They rate a bit higher than henckels and wusthof, but very similar. They have a better edge and are priced slightly…
