I don't she's a friend, AT ALL. Make your plan for you and work her in on your time. Your changes, your rules. She isn't/can't/won't do that for herself or you. Your determination for changing things for you make you accountable only to yourself...great motivation, BTW. All the best in this endeavor. If you need support,…

I started my weight loss and MFP on my 63rd b'day last April. My goal was to lose 39 pounds. By October and my daughter's wedding, I had lost 43 pounds. All I did was measure and weigh my food and walk, walk, walk. I don't diet, I eat all that I used to, but in moderation. And I never have been a processed food person, so…

I'm 63 1/2 and have lost 38 pounds since April. I walk at least 4 miles a day,,and try never to go below 3.75 mph, except when I walk my dog, then it's 3 mph or a wee bit less. I also lift 8 pound hand-weights, do a DVD cardio,,"29 Minute Workout" 3 times a week, lunges and planks. I have so much energy that I always seem…

Oh, yeah, those face wrinkles. They sort of take me by surprise every time I see them. They weren't there in April and after losing 35 pounds they are evident. I'm 63..so they show even more. But hey, I earned every one of these..and when I smile they all go where they are supposed to go...

Yes, I've hypothyroidism...Graves disease. I didn't gain weight because of it, but I was heavy when I was diagnosed, 5 1/2 years ago. So I did the usual med adjustments for a period of 4 years, with my weight staying about the same. In April of this year, I started adding more exercise, measuring and weighing my food and…

Slow weight loss has been good for me. I'm almost at goal and I have some loose skin. My tummy area not as much as I thought,,but my thighs and arms. And I'm 63...it is what it is, for me at least. I'm just glad I'm so healthy and getting ore and more fit each day!

I'm 63, from the US. Post menopausal and hypothyroidism will not slow me down. Since I started this in April 2012, I'm almost at my goal of 39 pounds off. Then I will re-evaluate. Working at being strong and healthy to keep up with my much younger mind! Add me, too if you wish.

Positive minded goal setting is the answer to almost anything. Attaining those goals,,big and small are my rewards. I LOVE the idea of making the remaining years of my life as good as I can. The only way I can make that happen is by setting goals, working toward them and achieving them. My parents, Grands, Great-Grands and…

I'm 63 and on meds for hypothyroidism. I upped my walking and added weight bearing exercises, tracked my improved food intake faithfully..and I've taken off 33 pounds in 4 months...almost at goal. So far I haven't had a problem with losing..no plateau either...yet. I just approached it as older/thyroid being a problem and…

On average women live to be 85 in my family. So, I may have about 20 years left. hopefully all of then "good years". So far, no health issues, so I want to continue my life's trip being the best I can be.
-
I have told a few,,those truly interested in wanting to lose weight. Some have joined, others not,,,yet. When friends ask what I'm doing or how I did it, some I tell and others I tell that I'm just walking more...which is the truth.

Oh, Well Done! You are doing an amazing job.

I want to get out of car when I'm old(er) and not do that side-to-side shuffle I see so often. I move because I want to be able to for a very long time.

Met in May. Then December saw us taking about marriage.. Married the following March, during my college spring break. That was over 32 years ago...and still going strong!

I use the treadmill just because I have yet to conquer the elliptical..so far 13 minutes. But my goal is to use it more often as it does a better overall job. Then I plan to mix it up.

It CAN take time. You can do this. I'm a lot older and just decided one day to have at it. Once that scale moved, I was ecstatic,,but when the clothes started to hang, I was over the moon. Add me for support if you want.
-
Congratulations. You look amazing.

Congratulations! Truly a victory.

Minnesota here, MSP metro area. Have a neighborhood clubhouse with a pretty decent set of exercise stuff..treadmills, ellipticals and weights plus resistance machines that all come in handy during the super muggy times as well as the colder winter days. I walk my dog a lot, so we're outdoors often. Add me if you'd like.
