Dark chocolate (over 70%), cacao, cacao nibs (not the same as cocoa - cacao is raw, with tons of minerals, and pretty tasty too)

I think the important thing to note here is that everyone is different. While skipping meals may work for some, it does not work for all. If you are hungry, you should eat. Get some to-go snacks like nuts, seeds, fruit, some sort of protein. I know it's hard when you're working but they can't expect you to not eat! Find a…

I like your determination and spunk. Although probably not healthy to lose so quickly, we will all still cheer you on.

Check your sugar intake. Such as refined, simple carbs, and sugar from fruit, baked goods, candies, processed foods, etc. Eat carbs with low glycemic index for optimal health and results.

I think the "trick" is finding something you enjoy doing (exercise wise) and foods that you enjoy eating that will also nourish and fuel your body (real foods). Start there, then figure out the calories and how much you can have of each. Consistency is the magic word. If you are consistent with your lifestyle change you…

Over consumption of sugar and therefore wheat (which turns into sugar in your body) leads to insulin resistance, fat, and eventually T2 diabetes. Staying away from that stuff the best thing you could do whether or not you have celiac. I had very similar symptoms when I was detoxing from sugar earlier this year. It should…

I also suggest probiotics. But those that come from food work much better. Sauerkraut, water or coconut kefir. Also a glass of warm water with the juice of half a lemon + a teaspoon of apple cider vinegar. Holy moly. Really gets things moving for me. Especially when combined with the probiotic!

Awesome Helen!! You can do this. I am also turning 30 in a few months and am planning a trip to NYC for my 30th!! Would love to support you!

Awesome!!! Congrats!

I'm not promoting any kind of diet. All I'm saying is that not all calories are created equal. And yes that's a fact. You can't argue that 100 calories of cookies has the same effect to your body as 100 calories of celery would.

Wrap in tin foil, bake on 350 until soft. Gobble up!

Amen!!! That is the truth. Time to get out of our own way!! Self sabotage is the most painful kind of failure. Keep on keeping on! Xo

YES TOTALLY! Eat what you love, in moderation. Life isn't about feeling deprived. Not lifestyle change or diet will be sustainable if you are not feeling good about it! Maybe in the beginning you may choose to add a "treat" once a day. Do that for a week and then week 2 only have a "treat" once every few days and so on…

LOL, I love that!!

What works for me is setting goals. Set a goal is that within reach, then write down some daily things you need to do to reach the ultimate goal. Follow through..see results...that's your motivation. Connect with your original intention to lose weight. What made you start in the 1st place? Think about that when you set…

The rate of insulin response is just as important as what causes it. If you are spiking insulin quickly and MANY times a day, you build insulin resistance which triggers T2 diabetes. Whole grains increase blood sugar and therefore insulin as well, but not as quickly as refined carbs and other simple sugars.

I agree we are all different and one diet definitely does not work for all. However, I do believe (and know for a fact) that not all calories are created equal. But if counting calories works for you then who cares what some NYT article says!

YES! I totally relate with this! You just have to focus on your goals. I also think sometimes we do deserve a little treat :) Deprivation has the opposite affect many times. I have also found that surrounding myself with lime-minded people, with similar goals is REALLY helpful. Good luck. Xo.

Hi Noelle. I sent you a request! You CAN do it! One day at a time. Xo.

I hate to be a debbie downer but Tilapia is probably one of the most toxic fish you could eat. Check out this article..http://draxe.com/eating-tilapia-is-worse-than-eating-bacon/ Again, I'm sorry for being a downer but knowledge will set you free. Xo.

Not quitting is #1. #2 is to realize that you are only human and may make "mistakes", take them in stride. Being too hard on yourself and feeling guilty will only have negative effects on your weight and state of mind. #3 seek support. Which you already have! Eat whole, real food, exercise when and however you can, and you…

It's certainly not a sustainable diet if you find yourself starving and still not losing weight. Aim to fuel your body with whole grains, hi quality protein, lots of fruit and veggies. Also be patient with your body as it is adjusting to a new diet.
