  • I just ate an entire bag of kettle corn. And I'd do it again!
  • It is hard, and it is slow, but stay the course and you will see results! Seems like when I turned 45 my body decided it luvs all of the fat and must hold on to it! I am just keeping within my calories, tracking and working out and I KNOW it will change my body. Try not to get discouraged, the changes will come. I try to…
  • Set small goals along the way. By reaching these smaller goals, it motivates you for the next one. I reward myself in 5 lb intervals. I still need to lose 40 lbs and that sounds like a lot of work, but I set my smaller goals and each one reached makes me look forward to the next one. Best wishes on this journey!
  • As a 6'2" tall woman, if I filtered by height, I would never date!! And I am right there with you on Peter!! woot woot!
  • I'm learning how to curl. Curling clinic at The Forum at Fishers.
  • Hi, I know how you feel. Living alone, no support network, it can get fairly easy to be a couch potato. What helps to motivate me is picking a race and sending in my entry. If I know I am to "compete" in X number of weeks, then I find it easier to take a daily walk and fit in a jog here and there. I am only really…
  • My advice...........don't give a dang about what the OTHER people think. There will always be someone fitter, faster, smaller, stronger thinner....you name it, but we all start somewhere. Besides, most of them are too wrapped up in themselves to even notice you. Yes, my flab giggles when I run, so what, I'm doing it, very…
  • Don't worry about the number on the scale, that's what I pay the doctor to do...........her job to keep track of that data, not mine. If you feel good, your clothes fit better, you are happy with what you see and how you feel, then use that as your "scale" and chuck the other one!!
  • Oh yeah, me too! I hold up the size large, some medium shirts (use to be XXL) and I can't believe I actually fit into that!!
  • Looking at your one day list out of all your foods, you are eating a lot of prepackaged items. How is your sodium intake? That can impact your daily weight fluctuations. However, 9 lbs in that time frame is a terrific loss, just be patient, it will come. I am in IN also, feel free to friend me, I don't comment a lot, but…
  • 1. The label in my jeans says "Slim Fit". Never in my life. 2. I broke boards with a punch and kick in Judo class. Getting stronger.
  • I like to dip potato chips into a mixture of baked beans and cottage cheese! Crack to me! Also I like vanilla ice cream with chocolate syrup and smashed pretzels. Oh, and I like grape jelly on sausage patties.
  • Ugh, that was just down right MEAN! How could you forgive them?
  • Or the rest of the world for that matter! Great post, with you all the way!
  • "Everyone is very different and obviously people have different experiences with different exercises. My heart rate peaks at 199 in Zumba and it stays between 165-185 for the whole class. There is a 5 minute cool down, so yes, 55 minutes of that is spent at a high heart rate." With that heart rate, you really hit it hard,…
  • 6'2", kinda freakish for a woman. And freaking hard to buy pants!!
  • I highly recommend! My trainer pushes me more than I do myself, but also is there to answer questions about form and machines. It can be quite expensive, so I limit my one on one sessions to every other week. However, see if the trainer offers group sessions. I do a "group personal training" session every week. It is a…
  • I agree with the "share with the group" thought. Last BBQ I attended, I took turkey burgers for the grill and a giant bowl of fruit salad. No one else ate the turkey burgers, but I had a healthier option and the fruit was a big hit. I sampled a few small bites of some the the less healthy options and no one thought a thing…
  • Already mentioned, but I throw black beans and nuts into my salads. Makes a yummy addition.
  • Oh, I luv this idea. count me in. I think text pictures would be easiest for me, and I like Lazydan's date stamping idea too.
  • I recently learned how to make a one egg omelette in the microwave. Put an egg in paper cup (the thick ones for hot beverages), add bit of milk, beat it up, add your favorite ingredients (mushroom and cheese for me) and microwave for 1 minute 15 seconds. Quick, easy and yummy.
  • Agree with gonewild, it is your call; if you can mentally handle the natural fluctuation on a daily basis, then no worries. Some people weigh only weekly, or even monthly, that way they see only the "true" trend. I weigh myself every day, but only record once per week. I do it so that I can see how my daily diet makes my…
  • I really like the suggestion of using the bathroom on another floor. We only have 2 floors in my office, but I drink 3 liters of water during the day, so that would add up to a lot of stairs! I am thinking of adding 10 squats to every bathroom break too. What great ideas. I walk for 10 minutes 2x a day during breaks and…
  • I second phoenix's suggestion of putting lunches together the night before. Perhaps while you are fixing dinner or cleaning up you could fit that in and free up some time in the morning before everyone else gets up? I don't know what type of work you do, but I slip out of my cubicle for a 10 minute walk twice a day. I walk…
  • HI, I am 6'2", and started out with 80 lbs to lose, about half way there. Been a long journey. Feel free to add me!
  • HI Jilly. I had reduction surgery almost 14 years ago. I had ~3 lbs removed from each breast. Yes, my insurance covered it, but I was having severe back pain, and nerve issues from the straps cutting into my shoulders. I have scars underneath my breast from mid-line approaching my armpits. I can wear a bikini top, as long…
  • I hear ya, feel guilty when i eat all my exercise calories back, but I am NOT going to just let them go, so I split the difference and try to only eat back about half of them. That way I don't feel too guilty, get to enjoy my exercise efforts, and maybe counter any calculation errors in overestimated burns.
  • ThriceBlessed, I feel your frustration, both with your husband and with some of the less than supportive responses you have received on this thread. I have no words of wisdom, as I deal with a very similar issue with my family. Every holiday/event/win/loss or day that ends in Y is centered around food. I have struggled…
  • That made me chuckle!! If only, if only. I have no real words of wisdom, I lack patience also. I have found the closer I get to my goal weight, the slower the progress. I would suggest focusing more on toning and less on the scale number. In the last 2 months I have only lost 4 pounds, but dropped 2 pants sizes. My diet…
