Thanks for the advice. I've already been paleo for a few months, so I don't have anything non-Paleo to cut out anymore. It's more that my mother and I just eat diffferent meals and she doesn't like what I eat most of the time. I guess that's the main problem, but rather than give up paleo, I'm wondering if there are even…

Thanks for the suggestions. I'm sorry I wasn't clear. I've only been doing basic strength training - not weight lifting. I'm afraid that squatting heavy will probably kill me, considering even just squatting without weights leaves me disabled for days.

I do have depression, but I always binge instead of loss my appetite, which is why this is such a weird thing for me. Thanks for the suggestion about coconut butter/oil. I never thought of that!

Thank you all for the advice. I didn't think I'd get so much support so quickly. I should've mentioned it in my first post, but I've had depression and generalized anxiety disorder for almost 11 years now. I've been on a lot of different medications and have seen many therapists, all to no avail. My plan is to workout at…

Don't feel bad. I've gone a long time on occasion without doing the dishes. They just stack up and stack up until I'm eating out of containers because all my plates are dirty. :ohwell: I actually did that today except I roasted a big pack of drumsticks. It only took about 5 minutes to get them in the oven, and I'll have…

Thanks for the additional suggestions. The crockpot idea was really good, and I've been busy collecting some recipes to help me along. I appreciate your help with all the supplements. I've been on many, many different psychiatric medication, but nothing has helped, so maybe something natural might help. St. John's Wort…

Thanks so much for all the suggestions. I can't believe using a crockpot never occured to me. There's nothing simpler than that. These ideas will really help me out a lot. Thank you very much for your kind words. It means a lot to me.

I'm going through that right now. I really try to keep any trigger foods out of the house and stock up on healthier (somewhat) alternatives. This time, instead of buying my usual dark chocolate (which I think will keep me from binging, though it never does), I bought some low calorie hot chocolate. I also got some organic…

I'm interested in those brownies. They sound really good! Mind sharing the recipe?

People have already mentioned a few good websites that feature healthy recipes. Pinterest is another way to find and keep track of recipes. I'm not always so great in the healthy meal department, but I do eat a lot of healthy snacks such as granola, mixed seeds, nuts, and dried fruit, steamed/roasted vegetables (as in,…

A lot of soy milk cartons say the same thing, but I've kept almond and soy milk around for a month and haven't had any problems. Maybe it depends on the brand or something.

I was just thinking about looking for single serving recipes the other day. Thanks for this.

I suppose you could mix it with fruit juice, but it'd be better (calorie wise) to just drink water. Plus, it depends on how much juice you're adding, I guess. If it's just a little for flavor, I don't see why that'd be a problem. You could always check out herbal teas. They have all kinds of fruit-flavored teas nowadays…

I've got sciatica and bad knees, so sometimes I use her videos when I'm having a bad day. You can go at your own pace, don't have to worry about complicated moves, and you can really just make them as hard or as easy as you want. I also have a "thing" (call it a fear, I guess) about working out too hard and feeling like…

I don't like most vegetables either, but find soup is the easiest way to make them palatable and have a wide variety in one bowl. Roasting vegetables is a great way to enjoy them, too. They taste a whole lot different than you'd think when they're roasted. Also, bananas won't hinder your weight loss. Seriously, bananas are…

Water never does it for me, so if I'm having a hungry day, I just eat a little more. Try to make it healthy, but still eat if you're hungry. Your body is obviously trying to tell you something!

People typically "bump" a thread to either save it to "my topics" or to move it up to the top of the message board so it'll be seen easier. There's no how-to about it. Just reply and say 'bump'.

You're already doing a nice job on your own.

I imagine any sort of pureed squash would work. Maybe you could try buying some pureed pumpkin or squash baby food. It's pretty much the same thing, I suppose. Or, if you're really dedicated, buy a pumpkin and make your own puree. You can keep any leftovers in the freezer.

Thanks for sharing. They sound really good.

Thanks for all the great ideas, you guys. Feel free to add more if you think of any!

This sounds so amazing. Thanks for sharing!

bump as I'm in the same boat

I know this wasn't directed at me, but thanks for this. I've been binging like mad for the past two weeks; always giving myself the whole "I'll start tomorrow, I'll eat cleaner on Monday" spiel. I don't have a lot of will power sometimes, and it's hard to stay motivated when you think long-term, but that's really good…

I don't know, but I'm in the same boat right now. Maybe you're stressing out about surgery, whether you realize it or not. Is there anything else stressful going on in your life? I know sometimes when I restrict myself too much or workout too hard/too long, I get burnt out and just fall back into my old ways of overeating…

Thank you guys for simplifying it for me. I think I understand it all now. IveLanded, I know you're just trying to help, but I'm doing the best I can. I got wasted last night after fighting with my boyfriend, self-harmed until I was exhausted, and then binged for a few hours. Sometimes there's no "thinking about not…
-
You definitely aren't the only one. I use it a lot when I'm depressed, but sometimes when I'm sick of feeling anxious all day, I just get wasted. Sometimes I feel like it's the only time I get an actual break from my thoughts.

I bought some (what looked like) single serving chocolate cakes yesterday at the store. Turns out the label says there are two servings, each being about 300 calories. Most people would eat the whole thing since it looks like it's made for just one person. Quite a nasty shock when they realize they just ate 600 calories!

This ^^^ Even though I clearly say on my profile to leave me a message when you add me, most people don't, which just tells me they're in the friend-collecting business and aren't even paying attention to the individual people that they're adding. Plus, I have ED issues that I'm trying to work through and I don't feel like…

People say that you'll be fine as long as you eat enough, but it isn't good for your body to workout intensely for more than 2 hours a day. It can lead to a lot of health issues like bone and muscle injuries, sleep problems, etc.
