I prefer to just stick to my recommended calorie intake. I don't believe that I could sustain low carb for any extended period of time, but just watching calories gives room for the things that I crave if I plan and they fit my macros.

I prefer to eat before I work out (I get a bit faint if I don't) but, have found that if I don't have something that's protein rather than carb based I get a bit of heart burn or sometimes bile in my mouth. Not sure why, but I have found that if my breakfast is yogurt or something like an apple with peanut butter I don't…

Yup, this. When I was broke in college, I could live off of about $40 a month in food if I didn't eat out by buying bulk lentils, beans, rice, and frozen veggies for the basis for a bulk of my meals (for the record, I lived in one of those midwest rust belt towns, so things were REALLY cheap). It's all about preparation.

This- I actually like to check more than once a week because I really like numbers and to see how some foods cause weight fluctuation through water retention (for example, last night, I didn't go over my goal, but had pizza and wine. Today I'm retaining water and am up a pound and a half. Tomorrow I won't be. I like to…

I cook them in a small pot with a tiny bit of water if I'm not using a microwave. I pretty much put frozen mixed vegetables in everything. Great with stir fry, curry, lentils, etc.

Truth. Some of the cheapest meals I make are the lowest in calories because I use beans or lentils and vegetables as a base and bulk it up with rice and spices. They're also pretty healthy in terms of macros.

Yup, as long as politics aren't ever mentioned.

I've had similar problems, woot flat feet. Check the supports on your shoes, like actually get them fitted by someone who knows what they're doing, make sure they look at your foot structure and if you pronate or not. I need inserts and had them fitted recently, it's made a huge difference. You should also make a point of…

Quoting for truth. The only time I'm ever constipated is when I am stressed out. Exercise always helped a bit.

Pepperplate! I just found it and love it. I find a ton of recipes online, so save them, usually to my Pinterest board, but since I never ever follow a recipe dead on, I am starting to copy them to Pepperplate with my tweeks. I love the ability to email the recipes because my sister and I share food, plus you can add a…

· If you lose weight, you will stop wearing out the thighs of your pants. True facts, that won't happen for me unless I loose an unhealthy amount of weight. I was wearing the thighs out of my pants at a size 2 and a dancer. Here's to muscular legs.

I like to saute it in some olive oil with fresh garlic. Just a tiny bit of oil so it's not greasy.

Raises hand! We have three 6ft book shelves that are double stacked, plus a few smaller ones, plus a disturbing number of books that haven't found their way to a shelf/ are living in a trunk or by the bed. My husband and I also have kindles, which has slightly curtailed the physical book buying, but only slightly. I have a…

Thanks! I think I just needed a bit of reassurance! I'm not going to cut my calories, since I'm pretty much as low as I have any desire to go.

Drink a ton of water, that's always my first step with skin issues. Do you exfoliate? I get tiny zits on my arms that are reduced by exfoliating and then making sure to moisturize it. Remember, if your skin gets too dry, it will get irritated and breakout the same way it might if it's too oily.

I've lived in upstairs and downstairs apartments. If you choose times to work out that being loud isn't absurd, then you shouldn't have a problem. Too early in the morning or too late at night would be annoying, but honestly, when my upstairs neighbor worked out it was significantly less annoying than when she played music…

Not miracle, but I always find that at that time of the month a bit of yogurt (plain or with raspberries added) helps me and sometimes pure cranberry juice (not the sugary cocktail kind) cut with water helps.

I do the stress/bored eating thing too. I find that drinking a glass or two of water when you're not sure if you're hungry or not helps determine the answer to that question. Exercise is a great way to relieve stress too, so it's got the double benefit of distracting you and helping you get in shape. As for the rest, eat…

My sister lost about 50lbs in college. She did basically what you did, count calories, exercise, focus on healthy food. You don't need to cut out beer entirely, however, I find that when I drink, even if I'm following my calorie limit, I retain more water and bloat, so maybe limit your beer intake. When I go out for beer,…

Anywhere in the world? Ok I want to go on vacation with you. Places I'd recommend based off of my travels- India- Delhi, The Golden Triangle, Hyderabad, Ellora and Ajanta Caves, Hampi, and I've heard great things about Kerala for non beach things Vietnam is super cool. Ho Chi Minh city is worth seeing, as is Hanoi, but…

29 inches. Lowest was 24. Shooting for something between here and there, 26 or 27 maybe.

It is quicker than roasting the tomatoes and this time of year, I tend to get canned tomatoes anyway because the "fresh" ones are not so good. The biggest thing that wouldn't be so healthy about this recipe is if you were watching your sodium intake, because all of the canned foods do have a bunch of salt. It doesn't sound…

I use the french bread setting with a light crust.

Interesting! I wonder if it varies breadmaker to breadmaker, because mine is just fine on the 50/50. Good to know that my attempts at pure whole wheat are not just me failing.
-
My favorite bread recipe is the simplest. I use 3 cups of flour, one cup of water, a teaspoon of salt and 2 teaspoons of yeast (I like the fluffier version). It's pretty low calorie, about as low as bread can get because it is so basic. I usually use just white all purpose flour, but have mixed with with whole wheat at a…

I think of the gym the same way I do public transportation. Don't go stand right next to someone if there's another spot open. Also, don't play your music without headphones.
-
The only reason I can think of to not wear jeans to the gym is because of how they constrict movement, compared to sweatpants anyway. Other than that, I can't see any reason not to. It's no different than playing outside as a kid, we always wore jeans for that.

I'm not a fan of most fruit either. I don't hate it, I just would rather eat vegetables. My husband and I both have fruit allergies, so between the two of us, we keep very little of it at home.
