  • My mother in law has a helper dog in training (he's not fully certified yet, but is in the phase of his training where he goes out in public). She works with a personal trainer and her not fully qualified dog knows how to get out of the way when he needs to. However, for many people, going out without their dog is more…
  • QFT. Running outside is not an option here until the weather warms up and the snow and ice are gone... so like April or May. I'll stick to my indoor workouts.
  • I lift significantly more than my husband and have always been stronger and more muscular than him. Some of it's body type, I am one of those people who gains muscles easily, some of it is activity type and level, but it's never intimidated him or any of the other guys I've dated.
  • I didn't lose boob when I lost 15lbs last year (I gained some back), but even weirder, when I was living overseas, I lost significant weight and still gained a cup size. Seriously, I probably lost about 15-20lbs (I didn't weigh myself before and after, just going based on clothing and photos) and went from a 36B to a 36C.…
  • If you try the shoe lacing and adjust your position, like people suggested above and it doesn't help, check your actual shoes. I had this problem and it was the arch of my shoes. I have super duper flat feet and when I started having the tingling and numbness, I went to a running store and they hooked me up with new shoes…
  • I'm a big fan of soup and then whatever I get, I eat about a 3rd to half of it and save the rest for later. I'm a big fan of getting spicy tofu dishes, they're filling and the spicy factor really helps me not over eat (because I slow down to eat it).
  • I'm 5'2" and about 154lbs right now and wear a 6-8 in most brands regular sizes or an 8-10 in most petites. When I was 130lbs I was somewhere between a 2 and 4. Body composition is a big difference, as is how you carry weight. I'm inclined to be fairly muscular and I'm broad for my height (my shoulders are wider than my…
  • Water doesn't always have a taste, however, the water in my hometown always had a faint sulfuric flavor due to sulfur in the aquifer. The sulfur itself was always filtered out (I visited the water filtration plant, it's effective) but the taste just kind of infused. It took me until college to realize that water from the…
  • I find that the "if you ate like this" thing is inaccurate, largely because I don't eat the same way every day. It's based on the idea that you lose a pound for every 3500 calories you have a deficit, but doesn't take into account factors like water retention and body recomposition. It sounds like you might have plateaued,…
  • Straight up, you're probably eating too little. 700 calories isn't enough, especially with exercise. Personally, I find that if I eat too little, I don't lose weight. Also, remember that since you're so close to your goal, which is considered underweight anyway, your weight loss will slow down a lot. The lower your weight,…
  • I tend not to eat the crazy deep fried foods, but I've seen- Deep fried butter, deep fried Snickers and every other kind of candy bar, deep fried Twinkies, deep fried Oreos, a variety of sandwiches, a lot of restaurants sell deep fried vegetables as an appetizer, like zucchini. I'm sure there are more inventive things too,…
  • Height- 5'2" SW- 156 CW-141 GW-135 Bra size has not changed, 36C. I've dropped a pant size and almost 3 inches off my waist and nothing in the breast area. The last time I lost weight, I gained a cup size. It was weird, but probably due to a birth control switch. For reference btw- at my lowest weight ever, which was a…
  • I frequently gain 2lbs over the course of one day and then it comes off the next. It's straight up normal fluctuations; the food you've eaten over the day and the water you're holding on to can add up to 2lbs. If I'm on my period, I'm usually up 3lbs or more because my body holds on to extra weight. If I eat a ton of salt…
  • 2lbs in 3 weeks isn't bad at all. I rarely lose more than that (I usually lose about .5lb a week, sometimes more, sometimes less). I don't see how much weight you are looking to lose, but if it's not a lot, it does take longer to come off. Since you had surgery too, I'd worry more about recovery than really fast weight…
  • "I usually ask him to wait a few minutes. . . if he gets distracted by something to do or play, he's full. If he comes back to the table, then he really is hungry and he can have some more. I don't just keep putting food on his plate until he tells me to stop...." [/quote] Sounds like an eating disorder in the making.…
  • Here here! Also, since sizes rarely are consistent across brands, it really doesn't matter.
  • Totally depends on your size and composition. I'm 5'2" and wore a size 4 between about 130 and 140lbs. My best friend, also 5'2" wore a 4 at about 115- 120lbs. We're just built differently and I tend to have more muscle.
  • What is that... where can I find it? It's just, so beautiful.
  • Very much this. We don't know what you need to repair your body, but a doctor would. I would also venture to guess that it's not enough food, because it's not far off from what I eat to lose weight. BUT I'm not a doctor, and more importantly, I'm not your doctor, so I really do recommend discussing it with them.
  • I find that exercising helps my cramps, particularly stretching and working my abs helps any back pain I get, and boosts my energy. I pop some advil to make the cramps less (and stop the inevitable period headache) first. Maybe go lighter on your intensity to match your energy levels, but just do it. I'm not sure how to…
  • bump because I'm curious too. I do some weights stuff, but am not sure if I'm approaching it right.
  • True facts. Wine and spirits are more fun than mediaeval water. I also think it's interesting to note that most of these royals pretty much shunned vegetables as "peasant" food and it caused a huge problem with gout and scurvy wasn't uncommon either. So, moral is, don't live like William the Conquerer. Unless of course,…
  • William the Conquerer was not just obese. He was so big that when he died, a bunch of people tried to stuff him in his coffin and his corpse exploded. http://www.history.com/news/10-things-you-didnt-know-about-william-the-conqueror (point #8. #7 is fun too). And people think history is boring.
  • I was getting them while on my period for a while, until my doctor switched up my birth control prescription to something with a different hormone balance. It cleared them up so I only get one occasionally now, not every single day of my period. I'm also more prone to them when I eat too much sugar and not enough other…
  • Anyone like kind of weird flavors? I love the Vosges Naga bar, which has curry in it. So good. Also, expensive, so it's a splurge when I buy it. http://www.vosgeschocolate.com/product/naga_exotic_candy_bar/cooling-materials
  • The kind with chili peppers or oranges in them. Lindt does good bars like that. Mmmmm
  • This also my own experience. I also love carbs- rice, pasta, chips, potatoes, fruit. So I eat them, just watch my portion sizes and haven't had problems. Personally, I'd be concerned about the side effects of the carb blockers. Anything that causes diarrhea and fermentation in your intestine sets off huge red flags for me.…
  • I refuse to eat mayonnaise, but it's because I've always refused to eat it. I eat some foods less frequently than I used to, like salt and vinegar chips and cinnamon dolce frappachinos because they aren't usually worth trying to fit into my macros, even though I do love them.
  • Take out the zucchini and mint and add more banana and chocolate and that's something I might eat, because I like frozen bananas and chocolate. I'd still eat the ice cream. I don't totally understand the point of claiming something is ice cream when there's no cream.
  • All of this. I eat it with pita chips, pita bread, tortillas, and think it's awesome as a vegetable dip. Bell peppers, broccoli, carrots, snow peas, get in some hummus and get in my belly.
