Yes... Puppies are the greatest companion ever! My boy, Frosty!

Sorry, but based on your pics you are not pear shaped... also this is said out of kindness... based on your pictures and age, are you just fishing for compliments? I suggest you seek a little support in the area of self confidence. Yes you are a very pretty girl, but to feel depressed because you think you are not pretty I…

I was diagnosed with Graves Disease in 2000. The treatment recommended by my endocrinologist resulted in my thyroid ceasing to function. I believe a NON-FUNCTIONING thyroid is more severe than "hypothyroidism"... and yes, weight loss is possible! Three years ago I started my weight loss. In total I have lost 90 pounds and…

Any kind of white fish (Tilapia, flounder, cod...) will have a less fishy taste. I regularly consume fish and found all white fish have a similar taste.

Works for me every time... also depending on the item, you could crumble it up and feed it to the birds/wildlife. Out her in SoCal out birds love it when I feed them bread, chips, cookies, cupcakes... anything that crumbles!

So true! And said so well! I have been in a maintenance mode where MFP calculated I should consume approximately 1350 calories a day. I estimate (I don't weigh or measure my food intake I simply estimate) I consume 1000 - 1100 calories a day (after I subtract my estimated daily exercise)... I have been maintaining my…

5"3" was 194lbs size 18 ladies... down 90 pounds and now size 0 (00 at American Eagle) oh yeah... every pound counts!

Everything... just about every aspect of my life changed! My health and happiness improved, I look younger, I have energy, I can shop for clothes anywhere, I receive compliments on my appearance... OMG... I could go on and on, for me the list seems to be endless!

Oh Geez... I found myself doing the same thing! Isn't that why we have Google, to search for the unknown? LOL!

Sorry... some of us with OCD's do live by that number and we don't want it turned off! Please remember, you can't please everyone! I HATE the fact they turn off the 5 week prediction and just give me the same warning over and over that I am under eating (when I consume less than what the "Government and Nutritional…

I consume Tilapia, Swai or any form of white fish every day. I purchase it in bulk, frozen from Walmart or any grocer. My favorite way to prepare the fish is to saute an onion in a fry pan using PAM. I add a flavored tea (Passion fruit is my favorite) for additional moisture and to help the onion caramelize. Then I add the…

I do it every day... and some days if I am overly active, I consume less. I have been doing it for 1000+ days so far. I modified my diet to only eat low calorie foods that make me feel full... No candy or sweets anymore. After living over a decade considered "obese" I would rather live life thin, than consume the high…

My all time favorite: Up Close and Personal... makes me cry every time! <3

Hi Jen... My daughter's name is Jennifer and she is your age with a 12 year old son... sure, and extra friend is always welcome! I will send you a friend request!

They are right on target for me and have been on target for well over a year. All depends upon your eating habits. I tend to eat the same foods by choice and seldom deviate in my total calorie consumption... of course the statistical average will work for me. Since calorie consumption is the largest factor in weight…

I did it with little exercise... just increased walking a bit... and MFP! I lost over 90 pounds and through my lifestyle change managed to keep it off for more than three years. Not difficult to do at all with self determination.

I wish 3 years ago I would have taken measurements... They are so much more informative after time than basic pounds or weight loss. That said, I am scale obsessed as well! After 3 years, I just learned to accept it! I posted the comment below to a different forum on the topic of weighing and weight fluctuation this…

Most people say "the best time to weigh yourself is in the morning, naked, post-toilet, pre-food"... I sorta dispute that belief! I have a bit of an OCD going since my 90 pound weight loss and I weigh myself 2 times as day. First thing in the morning (as described above) and when I get home from work, before I consume…

This time of year I try to make a large pot of soup at least once a week... I simmer it for hours and reheat it through-out the week. A single pot will produce about 12 cups of soup. As far as ingredients, I like adding "whatever" sounds good to the pot! A typical pot contains: 1/4 cup of red beans 1/4 cup of black beans…

"What was the hardest thing you had to give up? How did you do it?" First let's say you shouldn't "HAVE" to give up anything unless medically necessary... that said, once diagnosed a type 2 diabetic I virtually gave up sugar and reduced fats in order to lose weight and reverse my diagnosis. (I say virtually because natural…

Wow... some of the best advice I ever read! I wholeheartedly agree with you and believe the OP would be wise to follow. I was involved in a "gaslight" (I never knew until now there was a "technical" term for it!) relationship for so many years I lost all confidence in myself and started to doubt every thing I thought or…

I think you are going to get a lot of "hater" replies with this post... That said, your approach worked for me and continues to work. I started at 194 (but I am 5'3.5") and I am currently at 104, I was a size 18 (tight) am now a size 0. I started nearly 3 years ago and still use a 1200 daily calorie plan to maintain. More…

We have a "honor cabinet" full of treats... candy, pudding, chips, nuts just everything imaginable. I passed on everything in the cabinet... better than that, I pass on it every day and I manage the inventory of that said cabinet! Also, we have a full size popcorn machine... just a little smaller than the popcorn machines…

I have a co-worker who has turned into a "negative-Nelly" and isolated me simply because I talk with another co-worker she doesn't like. This is the same person who invited me to her 50th birthday party and I supported when she started her on-line business venture. I know I shouldn't let this bother me but I am a "people…

Totally agree with this^ I haven't eaten 1400 calories in one day once, in over 2 years. With my small frame that is how I maintain my 90 pound weight loss. I achieved my numbers by reading all food labels and going with the mentality every calorie matters! I cut out virtually all fried foods, never use butter or margarine…

I know this sounds obsessive but for giggles, on occasion, I weigh myself before and after I eat dinner... (I tell myself it is to "collect data points", the reality is when I do this it is an OCD... but I digress). I consume four bottles of water with my dinner, I see the scale increase by an average of 4-5 pounds after I…

I am right there with you! When you are 5'3" and you must loosen your size 18's after you eat... yeah, that sends the message. Size 0 and 00 now! I will NEVER go back there again!

966 here... and yes, EVERY day I log my food and exercise... after all that time it has turned into habit (almost an OCD!). I "think" I might not be able to maintain my weight loss without tracking, and this is how I stay on track! :-)

It is not just an average, which is true, the FDA allows nutritional labels a % variance in the stated nutritional label content. Counting calories, even when measuring food and using a weight scale, is NOT an exact science. There will always be variables in the quality and calibration of the scale... The calories you burn…

Thank you so much for adding this link... I am a visual person and I find this chart most helpful!
