Type 2 Diabetes was once most commonly referred to as age/weight onset. So yes, type 2 (non-insulin dependent) diabetes can definitely be related to weight. If someone overweight, diagnosed with diabetes, changes their diet and experiences weight loss, they can "change" their diabetic diagnosis. I for one, am one of those…

Hello, I am 5'4" and currently weigh 108 pounds, size zero. When I joined MFP I was obese at 194 pounds, a size 18. I was a "couch potato" and aside form going to work in an office I did little exercise. I lost my weight by cutting back calories and walking. I get out and moderately walk an hour a day and eat around 1000…

Cotton Candy... bags of it at a time! Also, large plates of fettuccine alfredo made with oodles of butter and cream!

Bone size/density plays a huge role in pant size... I am 5'4", when I weighed 194 I wore size 16/18, now at 108 lbs I wear size 0 and 00. I noticed the brand of pants/jeans makes a tremendous difference for example Old Navy sizes run larger. A size 0 at Old Navy is loose on me and a 0 at 7 for all mankind and blue Asphalt…

I had great success with "frozen box meals" in the early days of my weight loss. It does not matter if they are diet/low calorie as long as you read the nutrition label. They are excellent for portion control. Whatever works for you to jump start your journey and stay on track... that is your best option!

Your inspirations (and I quote) - having that totally sexy 6 pack. - Getting looks from 20+ year olds that would never look at me twice in the past - Supporting my wife in her weight loss journey. - Overall better life style. Please take this in the positive way it is intended, after all, you posted the question and are…

Do what feels "RIGHT FOR YOU", produces the results you hope to see while remaining healthy level of energy. Too many people here give advice without knowing all the facts surrounding an individual's situation. The advice, although many times given with good intention, may not produce the results you hope to see that will…

Why so many "haters" out there! It is not about Batman... is is all about Bruce Wayne and Ben Affleck will make a great Bruce Wayne. Come on guys Jack Nicholson, as the Joker, said it all when he said "its all about the toys... where does he get those toys"! I personally think Ben will make a great Bruce Wayne...

Nicolae, the third book in the Left Behind series. Almost ready to start book four of eleven... a long read!

In moderation is key...! :-) And this recipe is NOT sugar free... :-) Unless you use sugar free chocolate and sugar free peanut butter, the sugar levels (in my opinion) are high... I ran a calorie analysis on this recipe and the results were not all that impressive. If you produce 20 cookies in a batch there is 118…

Never... I can't recall the last time I might have exceeded my limit. Even on a maintenance program I try to stay around 200 calories under. If I eat my recommended caloric intake I gain weight.

Yes, I picked up a Michael Kors skirt once that was 2 sizes smaller than what I was wearing at the time. Sadly my weight dropped so quickly that when I tried it on it was a little too big. Now it hangs in my closet with the tags never removed as a reminder of what not to do!

Obsessive compulsive! I can't live with the guilt if I don't log my food... also, without daily logging I am a bit concerned I would under (or over) eat and destroy all my hard work.

I did not say I did not know my BMI or BMR... that I do know (I was not born yesterday! LOL)... I just did not know the actual cause for no weight loss. I think it has something to do with my diet never changing. The food I eat seldom varies (yes, boring I know but I am obsessive compulsive!). No, I do not weigh my food,…

My total daily intake of calories should be around 1330... my actual calories consumed ranges between 800 and 1100. My diet virtually never changes, yes the same food nearly every day except for different raw vegetables (e.g. the variable in calories consumed). In addition, there is not much of a variance in my exercise...…

For the most part (rule of thumb)... Type 2 is age/weight onset... Type 1 is genetic and juvenile... Type 2 (again for the most part) is easily avoidable and manageable through diet. Type 1 not so much. Odds are if you are type 1, you would have known by now. There are tests out there that will give relatively fast…

526 days in a row and 86 pounds down for me! If you are looking for new friends, add me...

So true... Odd numbers are juniors and even numbers are misses. However, I do not see much of a variance (or difference) between the two, although I prefer the woman's cut a bit more. I wear a size 0 woman's and size 1 juniors. I find the woman's, size 0, waist a tiny bit higher/slimmer and the length a bit longer than the…

I love raw mushrooms with salt and pepper, a cup is only 30 calories! Another option, if you have a sweet tooth... a cup of warm/hot green tea (I add Splenda for sweetness) with a plain ice cream cone. I know it sounds a bit dull, but if you just have the plain cone (wafer only, no ice cream) it is only 20 calories. That…

Even after 8 years I want to "run" into my ex, have him see me at my size 0 and and realize in that "ah ha" moment he can never have again, that best thing he ever had...

Shoes off... but slippers on! I have hardwood floors and they are "hard" on bare feet! I need the cushion of soft, fluffy slippers! LOL

Aspartame, the most common low calorie sweetener discovered in 1965, when eaten in excess, can lead to aspartame poisoning. Again when eaten in excess... it is commonly used in over 6,000 products and is the most common low-calorie sweetener in most diet drinks. Just throwing caution out there for aspartame... Splenda does…

I too weigh myself daily... sometimes more than once a day. I know it is not healthy, but if I don't monitor my weight I under eat and starve myself. Everyone is different, I like to think I am collecting data points and establishing trends. I don't believe it is a form of bulimia... agreed it is a sign of "disordered…

I believe it is largely dependent on your age and the length of time you are/were overweight. at 5'4" I was 85+ pounds overweight for too many years... after getting down to 108 pounds, yes I have problem areas and these areas CAN NOT be fixed with exercise. However, I would much rather deal with the "sagging" skin than…

A family member did the sleeve and does not recommend the procedure. As with all procedures, the key to losing weight and keeping it off is to cut calorie consumption and eat right. Surgery is not the answer... everyone I know who went in for surgery gained weight back, and also had to deal with the side effects of the…

I agree with the previous posters... because I weigh myself first thing in the morning, naked and the number that appears is personal... unless I chose to share it with someone. But think about it... there are those people (me) who have OCD's where if they moved the scale to the kitchen they would find them self hopping on…

Come on people... the dog does not have a problem that needs to be "nipped in the bud"! Electric shock collars are cruel and they are not the solution for the problem. This behavior is genetic to terriers, and one should not jump into adopting a breed of dog if they don't know what they are welcoming into the family. That…

Maintenance... it is easy to cut food intake, watch the pounds drop and be hungry... but so much harder to maintain a low calorie diet and be hungry.
